Anthony Weiner's pregnant and publicly humiliated wife feels hopelessly trapped in her marriage to the disgraced pol, whose online antics have completely disgusted her once-supportive family, a source close to the couple told The Post.
"He could be having sex live on TV for the whole world to watch and she'd still feel like she'd have to stay with him for now," the source said.
Those closest to Huma Abedin -- nearly 36 and about three months pregnant -- are furious with Weiner but keeping mum out of respect for her fragile condition, said the pal.
"No one in her family wants to put any pressure on her to make any decisions now when she is still in her first trimester," said the source.
Abedin's relatives initially rallied around Weiner under the mistaken belief that he was being bullied by an overly aggressive media, said the source.
Yet as more tawdry details emerged, they slowly realized that Weiner -- who at first lied and pretended to be the victim of a hacker -- did not deserve their sympathy and needed to step down from office.
But nothing prepared the close-knit and devout Muslim family for the release of close-ups of Weiner's genitalia, which were unleashed online by radio shock jocks "Opie & Anthony" after one of his cybermistresses leaked it to the press.
The release of that photo proved the final straw for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who had already ordered up an ethics probe into the randy rep's behavior.
The most powerful Democrat in the House -- notoriously hard-nosed when it comes to protecting the party -- realized that Weiner had become politically toxic and took steps to engineer his ouster.
"The turning point for Pelosi came Wednesday, when additional photos emerged and the tenor of the caucus changed," a senior Democratic aide told Politico.
"She felt that matter couldn't wait for an ethics investigation and that he needed leave Congress."
Weiner -- known for being combative even with other Dems -- initially resisted calls for his resignation but finally agreed to step down after exhausting conversations with Abedin, a source told The Post.
One of his cyberbabes, Georgia cheerleading coach Traci Nobles, yesterday told the "Today" show she doesn't regret exchanging dirty messages with the married politician.
"It changed me in some way or made me who I am today, so I don't really regret anything," said Nobles. "It was mutual. I'm not a victim."
