Has anyone been watching the Junos at all tonight? Most of the performances wouldn't even make it on Canadian Idol! No surprise that the best so far has been Brian Adams and Michael Buble. One guy, don't know his name, was even syncing to a voice track and it was so bad even with the help. Really sad when the Best Buy Peas, oops sorry, the Black Eyed Peas are one of the better performances of the night.

The music industry is in a sorry state.Nobody cares,it's all hype,no substance.I thought Black eyed Peeps were americans.
Man where are the great performers of the 70's???
Rush,April Wine,Guess Who,Trooper,Offenbach,Harmonium,Charlebois,Cano,Fm,Saga,ect...
I miss them.
I feel sorry for today's youth. They have no Idea how great it was to be a rock fan in the 70's.
Unexpensive tickets(5-10$) for major recording acts. Most bands were releasing a record a year, sometimes two,and they were great albums.
The magic of vinyl records as opposed to MP3 and iPOD.
There was definetely magic(and weed) in the air.
Call me nostalgic all you want, but I really miss those good'old days.Everything was so much more simple and authentic IMHO.

WOW ! Another vinyl lover. I still listen to vinyl as it sounds much better than CDs, etc. And I listen through tube electronics....I'm a music lover and Hi-Fi enthusiast.

Bryan Adams was there to be inducted into the Canadian Rock&Roll Hall of Fame or something. Well deserved actually. Besides he's still better than any former drug dealer turned rapper, or most of the new talent that can't carry a tune when they perform live. One of the stupidest moments of the show came when some hip hop singer was lip syncing or trying to sing to a voice track. When he couldn't keep up he lifted up his t-shirt to flash his abs and chest....oooohhhh, wow! Such talent!! I'd rather see Pamela flash her over inflated beachballs. Then there was Hedley...running around like a gay, punk Peter Pan, he made Kalen Porter look masculine! Yup, give me Bryan Adams any day.

I think they're putting too much emphasis on hip-hop and rap artists....trying to keep up with the Grammys and various american music industry awards. They should just keep it simple and shine the spotlight on the many Canadian music superstars instead: Adams, Young, Twain, Lavigne, Nickleback, Simple Plan, Morissette, Wright, Lightfoot and company. Let's face it: Canada will never be anywhere close to the US in terms of hip-hop and rap talent. That kind of music just ain't Canadian. Let's just keep it simple and not try to imitate other countries' musical styles.

Unless things have changed, the dollar value of royalties is the biggest reason most talent heads south of the border. It's hard to get rich with such such a small market in Canada...unless you're Anne Murray. LOL!
