Like if we don`t have enough to worry about with a resurgent covid pandemic.....here comes monkey pox.
Not as bad as small pox but can still kill. No cure and will last from 2 to 4 weeks. Small pox vax seems to prevent it but you guys who are afraid of vaccines , this one can sting as hell .. 17 cases so far in the Montreal region.

According to an interview with Dr Rejean Thomas, well known expert, this looks has a NEW disease here and nothing is known, or so little... For now there is no evidence for community transmission and close prolonged contacts are needed. Up to now, no deaths reported. As it is a virus, no antibiotics work but our body get better by himself within 2 to 4 weeks. 17 cases under investigation in Montreal. It's difficult to make a diagnostic. Symptoms are fever, headache, muscular pain, swollen glands, genital and oral ulcerations, and skin lesions. It is not considered as a STD. No reason to panic but as always education is the best.

just like HPV Human Papilloma virus it spreads with skin contact. The problem is: you will have blisters all over your body, and it will show. So your friends, co-workers, family will know and will ask: where did you get this ???

What are sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), or sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are infections that are passed from one person to another through sexual contact. The contact is usually vaginal, oral, or anal sex. But sometimes they can spread through other intimate physical contact. This is because some STDs, like herpes and HPV, are spread by skin-to-skin contact.

Those born before 1980 most likely already got the smallpox vaccine. In Britain they began offering the smallpox vaccine to healthcare workers (so obviously it must be effective against Monkeypox). They should have some immunity to it?

Smallpox vaccine was mandatory until 1971 here, after that you have to check in your medical history.

Nothing new about MonkeyPox. It has been first detected in 1970 in Congo. Its spread has been limited to central and western Africa until now.

The WHO called an emergency meeting for MonkeyPox. Strange timing as this is coming right before signing the new WHO Healthcare Pandemic treat where they would reinforce what they did for the last two years (lockdowns, forced masks, forced vaccines). Coincidence? I do not believe in coincidences. There is more then meets the eye here. This is all very fishy.

From what I read in different sites, it's affecting mostly men. In Spain they are the country with the most confirmed cases. They have 30.... 23 of those are related to a Sauna.
But it's also the only country with one confirmed case on a woman. Elsewhere it's only suspected or confirmed men. Yes it's affecting the gay community... But I don't want to
put the blame on their community... like I see on the social media. Many questions to be answered first...

On my end... here's my interrogations?
1- Why suddenly so many case outside of Africa in less than a week? And spread in over 10 countries?
2- Are Gay and LGBTQ community getting tested more often... That's why for now only those communities seem to be affected?
3- Is there a medication like prep used in that community triggering this disease?
4- What triggered this disease so it's all over the place at once?

Let's stay safe... Don't blame people or specific community... This is a very strange situation... Time will tell us more... But stay respectful and protect yourself

I know.

OTTAWA - The risk posed by monkeypox is low, but nearly everyone in Canada is susceptible because routine vaccination against smallpox ended decades ago, top public health officials said Friday.

Monkeypox is a rare disease that comes from the same family of viruses as variola.
That virus causes smallpox, which the World Health Organization declared eradicated around the globe in 1980.
It is also linked to the vaccinia virus used in the smallpox vaccine.

Quebec's Health Department said on Twitter late Friday that five cases have been confirmed in the province, up from two on Thursday.

I am a little bit spooked by this, at least until we know more. Asymptomatic transmission possible? In addition to close contact with an infected person, it can also be spread by contaminated bedding. You know what I am referring to.
