Are the casinos fun? Should you stay downtown? Is the poker good? Is it easy to meet women? Where is the best place?
Hey Num,Arrghhhh.... two things I hate most about Montreal. The winters and that casino. This darn joint allows piggybacking. What is that? You don’t “own” your spot at the table meaning everyone can use your spot to place a bet. Most irritating practice allowed. I experienced this at the baccarat tables. Don’t know about other table games. Also very annoying to get to by public transportation. Have to either drive yourself or a cab. If you want to gamble/wager/speculate you are better off heading to Vegas. Or even..... Atlantic City and this place is a dump.
Best option in the greater Montréal area.Is the Playgrounds poker good?
Does blackjack here pay 3/2 or 6/5?The odds for blackjack there aren't very favorable to the player, no surrender, dealer must hit on soft 17. You can say the same about the Texas hold'em table game as well. The rake in the poker room is rather high too, unfortunately.
The only two positive aspects in my opinion are the free refreshment areas located on each floor (coffee, soda, juice) and the higher than average bad beat jackpots for poker on occasion. I know the bad beat jackpot reached close to the vicinity of 2 million a couple years ago which was impressive, although EXTREMELY difficult to win, obviously.
It's certainly not Vegas, but it's something to do once in a while for me
It pays 3/2 on most tables $20-25, and up, although on some tables (low minimums) it exists, unfortunatelyDoes blackjack here pay 3/2 or 6/5?
Note to all if one wants to partake. AVOID at all cost if BJ pays 6/5. You are being ripped off and you don’t even know it.
