I just found this site that estimates entertainers' net worth. They put Shatner at $300 million (far more than I would have ever imagined), and Celine at $400 million.

Most famous Quebecer, world wide, William Shatner without any doubt.
And, I repeat, Priceline was already big before they hired him to do those cheesy ads.
Shijak,
This thread is pointless as you have a bunch of people who have no clue of what they are talking about, know nothing about the scope It's bordering on comical. .
LMAO........am I the only one here who thinks Eager is a major Trekkie?!?!?
No worries, Eager, it's all good.

Celine is by FAR the most famous Quebecer in the world today and possibly of all time. Say the name "Celine" and most everyone would say "Dion" (or for a select few here, the word "Fantasies" might be heard, lol) say the name William and then what??? Most people would be shocked to know Shatner is even Canadian let alone a Quebecer. One word out of Celines mouth and instantly people know she is from here. She is a icon as is Shatner, just more known as a famous Quebecer.
Norman Bethune....known by millions in China.
Eager Beaver I agree with you that William Shatner would be number 1 in the running for "most famous Quebecer" in the world . It seems that many don't accept him as a Quebecois , for the very reasons that you eluded to, but as per the requirement on the original post he does meet the terms.
I vote for William Shatner. He's almost as popular today as he was back in the 60's when he portrayed James T. Kirk. I loved him in T.J. Hooker, and as much as Denny Crane in "Boston Legal".
