"Gabriel Landeskog will be a game-time decision for the Colorado Avalanche against the Dallas Stars in Game 7 of the Western Conference Second Round at Rogers Place in Edmonton
on Friday (4 p.m. ET; USA, SN, TVAS).
"I guess there is a chance, to be honest," Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said Thursday. "I don't know how probable it is at this point."
Landeskog was cut on his right leg by Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar's skate with
2:06 remaining in the second period of their 4-1 win in Game 6 on Wednesday in Edmonton, the Western hub city. Landeskog returned during the third period, playing one 16-second shift..."

"Thatcher Demko made 48 saves, and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-0 in Game 6 to even the Western Conference Second Round series at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Thursday.
It was Demko's first NHL shutout.
"My job's the same regardless of the score," Demko said. "I just try to keep pucks out of the net. It doesn't matter if it's 1-0, we're down 1-0 or up by three. I'm just trying to make the saves I have to make to make sure they can find a way to win."..."
Islanders eager for third chance to close out Flyers in East Second Round
Not discouraged after 2OT loss in Game 6 evens series

"The New York Islanders knew it wasn't going to be easy to eliminate the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference Second Round. But they must be certain of it now.
The Islanders came up short again in their second attempt at finishing off the Flyers, losing 5-4 in double overtime in Game 6 of the best-of-7 series at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Thursday.
Philadelphia defenseman Ivan Provorov scored
15:03 into the second overtime Thursday, two days after Scott Laughton's defection
at 12:20 of overtime kept the Flyers alive with a 4-3 win in Game 5.
So the Islanders will have to try again Saturday in Game 7 in Toronto, the East hub city (
7:30 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, TVAS). The winner plays the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final...."
Krug says long-term value at peak as free agent if he leaves Bruins
Defenseman wants to return to Boston but won't take fewer years, less salary
https://www.nhl.com/news/torey-krug...mpending-free-agent/c-318876466?tid=277548856
"Torey Krug said Thursday he is looking for a longer-term contract and would not take fewer years or less money to remain with the Boston Bruins before becoming a free agent.
"I'm very opposed to that," the defenseman said of signing a one-year contract. "I've bet on myself. I've taken shorter-term deals, less amount of money my whole career now. This is my time in terms of my value at its peak. I have the ability, I'm in a position now where I need to make the most of it."
The 29-year-old, who reiterated he would like to stay with the Bruins, can become an unrestricted free agent with his four-year contract with an average annual value of $5.25 million about to expire. Prior to that, he signed two consecutive one-year contracts, worth $1.4 million for 2014-15 and $3.4 million in 2015-16..."
