Well the only team i would bet on......not more than 2,00 loll....are the FLYERS cause i still believe in GIROUX--VORACEK--COUTURIER and their coaching staff VIGNEAULT--THERRIEN....i know it's a big big challenge.

I Didn t think Boston would go out thath easylly
If I needed to chose a comeback, it would be from them but that would be counting on a 35 years old Halak getting his playoffs shape back...

writting them lines, Pasterniak roofs one pass Vasilevski to tie the game at 1-1
Impressive numbers he has with that previously mentionne 50pt in 50 playoffs game; He must join quite a group which name I could guess...?
Maybe The Great One and Le Magnifique , bossy , trottier, maybe richard and Messier but I m only guessing???
Enjoy the Playiffs

I am inclined to agree with you Zigme. I am not predicting any of them will come back from 3-1, but something tells me if I had to bet on one, the money would go down on Boston to do it. TB is my pick to win it all but they have the toughest matchup of the 4 teams winning their series.

If you look at Halak career record, it's actually quite impressive for a guy who has been a backup for much of his career:

Although the Avs are showing signs of life up 5-0 at the moment, does it not concern you that they would start Michael Hutchinson in goal in an elimination game? Is this not the same Michael Hutchinson that was released by the Maple Leafs because he was sucking big time as their back up goalie and they had to go out and spend money on a backup goalie to replace him?

Coach Bednar said FRANCOUZ was unfit to play, allowing 5 goals on 26 shots in a 5-4 loss game 4 and was replaced by HUTCHINSON in the third.....It seems pretty obvious Bednar had no other choice....and AVS have well responded.
And what about DALLAS with BISHOP in the net? He hasn't played since Aug 13......good opportunity for the AVS....and they won....so they are still alive and i guess HUTCHINSON will b in the net tomorrow.

Sorry for BRUINS fans..HALAK n'a vraiment rien à se reprocher...he was great BUT TBAY just too good.

Bruins face uncertain future after season-ending Game 5 loss to Lightning
Aging core, status of Chara, Rask among questions in wake of second-round exit
https://www.nhl.com/news/boston-bru...tampa-bay-lightning/c-318838160?tid=277548856
"For most of the postgame press conference, David Krejci kept his head down, his eyes hidden by the brim of his cap. He seemed emotional, disappointed, wrung out by the intensity of losing Game 5 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, 3-2 in double overtime on Monday, a game that ended the Boston Bruins' chances of making a return to the Stanley Cup Final.

But for the Bruins, whose core has been together for a decade, including three trips to the Stanley Cup Final and a win against the Vancouver Canucks for the 2011 championship, it's unclear how many more chances they might have...."

Stars undecided on goalie for Game 6 against Avalanche
Will see if Bishop or Khudobin is 'best fit' trying to end Western Second Round Series
https://www.nhl.com/news/dallas-stars-undecided-on-game-6-starting-goalie/c-318846406?tid=277548856
"Dallas Stars coach Rick Bowness said he has not decided whether Ben Bishop or Anton Khudobin will start in goal against the Colorado Avalanche in Game 6 of the Western Conference Second Round at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Wednesday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS).
The Stars lead the best-of-7 series after a 6-3 loss in Game 5 in Edmonton, the Western hub city, on Monday, when Bishop started and Khudobin relieved him...."

I realize Francouz was unfit to play (and he is nothing special when he is fit to play), but do you really want Mike Hutchinson in net in an elimination game? Is that a team you are picking to move on, and win a Stanley Cup?

Should Francouz return to fitness, he is basically a 30 year old rookie who is totally untested in playoff hockey.

Yesss...COL 4-1.... :) and yes EB HUTCHINSON is not what you want....he is horrible in the net and number 2 goaly played only one game in the NHL....can they survive???...it seems so with MacKinnon leading the way as he did yesterday ....

And now.....go FLYERS.

Who would have guessed that elimination games were necessary to bring out good goaltending play by Hutchinson? To his credit, this Maple Leaf reject has risen to the occasion. Once deemed by TOR not fit for backup goalie duties, he is now shining for the Avs.........quite a turnaround from the moose ball-sucking .886 save % he posted in 15 games for the Leafs earlier this season before being waived, clearing waivers and loaned to the Marlies:

It's never a good sign when a guy can't make it as a backup goalie with one team, but he has clearly confounded the Stars.

Wow we went from 4 3-1 series leads and skepticism over who might come back to 3 game 7s!!!! Woohoo! So who will pull off the comeback? Odd now are that at least 1 team will come back from down 3-1.

Landeskog game-time decision for Avalanche against Stars in Game 7
Forward was cut on leg by skate blade, might play in finale of Western Second Round
https://www.nhl.com/news/colorado-avalanche-gabriel-landeskog-status-update/c-318876814
"Gabriel Landeskog will be a game-time decision for the Colorado Avalanche against the Dallas Stars in Game 7 of the Western Conference Second Round at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Friday (4 p.m. ET; USA, SN, TVAS).

"I guess there is a chance, to be honest," Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said Thursday. "I don't know how probable it is at this point."

Landeskog was cut on his right leg by Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar's skate with 2:06 remaining in the second period of their 4-1 win in Game 6 on Wednesday in Edmonton, the Western hub city. Landeskog returned during the third period, playing one 16-second shift..."

Canucks blank Golden Knights in Game 6 of West Second Round, even series
Demko makes 48 saves in shutout to force deciding game
https://www.nhl.com/news/vegas-golden-knights-vancouver-canucks-game-6-recap/c-318858290
"Thatcher Demko made 48 saves, and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-0 in Game 6 to even the Western Conference Second Round series at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Thursday.

It was Demko's first NHL shutout.

"My job's the same regardless of the score," Demko said. "I just try to keep pucks out of the net. It doesn't matter if it's 1-0, we're down 1-0 or up by three. I'm just trying to make the saves I have to make to make sure they can find a way to win."..."

Islanders eager for third chance to close out Flyers in East Second Round
Not discouraged after 2OT loss in Game 6 evens series
https://www.nhl.com/news/new-york-i...philadelphia-flyers/c-318885506?tid=277548856
"The New York Islanders knew it wasn't going to be easy to eliminate the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference Second Round. But they must be certain of it now.

The Islanders came up short again in their second attempt at finishing off the Flyers, losing 5-4 in double overtime in Game 6 of the best-of-7 series at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Thursday.

Philadelphia defenseman Ivan Provorov scored 15:03 into the second overtime Thursday, two days after Scott Laughton's defection at 12:20 of overtime kept the Flyers alive with a 4-3 win in Game 5.

So the Islanders will have to try again Saturday in Game 7 in Toronto, the East hub city (7:30 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, TVAS). The winner plays the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final...."

Krug says long-term value at peak as free agent if he leaves Bruins
Defenseman wants to return to Boston but won't take fewer years, less salary
https://www.nhl.com/news/torey-krug...mpending-free-agent/c-318876466?tid=277548856
"Torey Krug said Thursday he is looking for a longer-term contract and would not take fewer years or less money to remain with the Boston Bruins before becoming a free agent.

"I'm very opposed to that," the defenseman said of signing a one-year contract. "I've bet on myself. I've taken shorter-term deals, less amount of money my whole career now. This is my time in terms of my value at its peak. I have the ability, I'm in a position now where I need to make the most of it."

The 29-year-old, who reiterated he would like to stay with the Bruins, can become an unrestricted free agent with his four-year contract with an average annual value of $5.25 million about to expire. Prior to that, he signed two consecutive one-year contracts, worth $1.4 million for 2014-15 and $3.4 million in 2015-16..."

Yes, in sports a great coach can get you to overachieve, win series you are not supposed to win, and extend series against better teams to 7 games, all of which the Islanders have done. The Islanders do not have great talent. They do have very good depth, and a very good coach, and that is why they are where they are right now. Do I think they would get by TB even if they beat Philly? No. TB has the best team and I usually pick the best team.

Of course you were nervous. The Avs rolled the dice with Hutchinson in net for a 3rd consecutive elimination game, and this time they got 5 GAA and a .857 save %. This is what happens when you try to ride a backup goalie for more than a couple games. You ride horses, and Hutchinson is no horse.
