It's really an improvement to me. It's like a new trend in board art. Just like Van Gogh was a trendsetter with his use of colors, so has MERB become a trendsetter in escort board colors. There is a natural tendency to rebel against positive change when it first happens, but I think it's here to stay. Remember when the Beatles first came onto the scene they were largely dismissed by the media as a trendy, temporary fad like the hula hoop, but they became the greatest force in pop music in the 20th Century.
EB,
normally I would agree. I embrace change, but its not a question of change or taste for me.
The lime green on grey is actually making me physically noxious (headaches). Might be the lime green against the light-gray gradient... not really sure. I'm temporarily bypassing merb's style sheet until they change it (Hoping its soon as its not practical).Mind you, I am using very large high-res and calibrated monitors which can sometimes offer a very different experience.
There is actually something going on between my eyes and my brain (I'm scheduled for testing in late Jan) and might be due to my light dyslexia and astigmatism (eye curvature causing issues to focus).
Its not the first time that I've noticed colors being very difficult on my eyes... The worst is when I go golfing, I can never tell the distance of the yellow rope against the grass and have trouble walking over it so I have to actually reach out as if i'm blind until I touch it ...
Honestly, I think it would be amazing if they actually supplied more than 2 theme options. I like sites that offer the ability to change themes based on day/night. Currently only the green and mobile theme are made available in the theme drop-down in the bottom left of the site.
There are many gorgeous vBulletin themes out there and there are surely some really kickass and modern available in green (I think that's a must for the famous green board).... I would even spring for it.
Anyways, just thought I'd clarify my statement as not being based on personal opinion... but on physical comfort (or discomfort) which to me, becomes hard facts.
Cheers bud.
