He could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Free the Juice !

p.s.: don't worry OJ. If Hussein gets elected, he would free all the brothers from jail.

Hey Centaurus,

Maybe you could have provided a source.

Try something like this:

Simpson guilty of robbery, kidnap charges

Ex-NFL star convicted exactly 13 years after acquittal on murder charges

LAS VEGAS - O.J. Simpson, who went from American sports idol to celebrity-in-exile after he was acquitted of murder in 1995, was found guilty Friday of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room.

The 61-year-old former football star could spend the rest of his life in prison. Sentencing was set for Dec. 5.

A weary and somber Simpson released a heavy sigh as the charges were read by the clerk in Clark County District Court. He was immediately taken into custody.

The Hall of Fame football star was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges for gathering up five men a year ago and storming into a room at a hotel-casino, where the group seized several game balls, plaques and photos. Prosecutors said two of the men with him were armed; one of them said Simpson asked him to bring a gun.

The verdict came 13 years to the day after Simpson was cleared of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in Los Angeles in one of the most sensational trials of the 20th century.

"I don't like to use the word payback," defense attorney Yale Galanter said. "I can tell you from the beginning my biggest concern ... was whether or not the jury would be able to separate their very strong feelings about Mr. Simpson and judge him fairly and honestly."

Co-defendant also convicted
Simpson's co-defendant, Clarence "C.J." Stewart, 54, also was found guilty on all charges in the Las Vegas case and taken into custody.

Simpson showed little emotion as officers handcuffed him and walked him out of the courtroom. His sister, Carmelita Durio, sobbed behind him in the arms of Simpson's friend, Tom Scotto, who said "I love you" as Simpson passed by. As spectators left the courtroom, Durio collapsed.

Jurors made no eye contact with the defendants as they entered the courtroom. They declined to answer questions after the verdict was read.

Galanter said his client had expected the outcome, and in a courthouse conversation with an Associated Press reporter on Thursday, Simpson had implied as much.

Simpson said he felt melancholy and that he was "afraid that I won't get to go to my kids' college graduations after I managed to get them through college."

Galanter said it was not a happy day for anybody. "His only hope is the appellate process," he said.

Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin said prosecutors would not comment until the case was "completely resolved."

Toodles,

I remember watching the murder trail on TV when I was ten.

I highly doubt that the jury put that aside; every one knew that Simpson was guilty and walked away.

I hope he rots in jail.... This is proof that Karma is real!

Hello Tracy,

With nine women on the jury here I doubt they forgot how his wife was slaughtered and nearly decapitated.

This murderer's luck simply ran out. Justice prevailed. What also helped was the fact that there were no blacks on the jury. The Goldman family must have been rejoicing when they heard the verdict. Good for them. The verdict comes exactly 13 years 'to the day' of the infamous verdict in the California trial when he was found not guilty (a travesty!!) of his ex-wife Nicole & Ron Goldman's murders. Unbelievable! So if that ain't karma, there ain't no such a thing.

The jury consisted of nine women and three men

Like Tracy stated, Karma is real….

Both Johnny Cochrane and Bob Kardashian passed away before their time; the latter must be turning in his grave at the spectacle of his daughters

It was revealed Robert Shapiro’s son continues to struggle with serious drug addiction

Spotlight monger that he is, he could not live his life under the radar

I always maintained when OJ meets his maker, he won’t have the likes of his dream team to pull a rabbit out of a hat!

There is a higher power we all have to answer to

Where can you find a jury of OJ's peers? Good luck finding 12 other psycho killers walking around free who would be willing to serve on a jury.

What murderer? it was proven in a court of law that the glove did not fit, remember?.:p

I know you're saying this in jest, but for those reading this, it wasn't actually proven that the glove didn't fit. The glove that was tried on during the trial had shrunk due to the dried up blood over time & he also was wearing latex gloves when he tried it on. If the glove would have been in the condition it had been in on the night of the murders, it would have easily fit, latex gloves or not. Anyways, i hope he gets bum-fucked by hundreds of white supremacists while in jail & suffers for years. A quick death in his case would not be justice. I want him to see every day of what remains of his sorry existence. May each & every day be pure hell for him.

I sincerely hope this piece of shit gets what's coming to him, preferably, the day before his release after his sentence. Now that would be karma.

I concur. If I may, I'll lend some perspective as a Nevada man. Nevada has a very libertarian culture. We have 24 hour gambling, 24 hour booze and the only state in the US to have Legal Prostitution (in 11 of 17 counties), we also have a fairly easy concealed carry process so any citizen who has the 100 bucks for a background check and paperwork and who can pass the background check, ( no felons, no crazies)and also pass a 6 hour basic class on gun safety, marksmanship and legalities of carrying a weapon can have a card with his/her picture and the make and model of up to 2 handguns the citizen is allowed to carry on their person.

In exchange for the freedom here, when you fuck up, you are going to pay, even in the more liberal Las Vegas. We are pretty generous with the death penalty for murderers (although to say "there is support for the death penalty" wouldn't be so accurate, but more like Nevadans "don't have a problem with it") In the case of OJ, the fact that a gun was used, and just important, the actions that qualified him as a kidnapper are going to put him away for awhile. I'm not saying he won't get parole someday, but this "appeal" that his lawyer is going to file will go nowhere. The attorneys for OJ saying this is retribution for his earlier aquittal in California are just doing their jobs. The guideline is 15 years to life....I think he should count on somewhere from 20 to 25 years...longer if he continues his shit behavior while in the slammer.

Actually, the composition of the original OJ murder trial jury was:

9 African-American
2 Whites
1 Hispanic

http://www.cnn.com/US/OJ/daily/9510/10-04/jurors_speak/index.html

The media had speculated that the not-guilty verdict was payback for Rodney King.

The composition of the OJ civil trial jury (in which OJ was found liable) was:

12 white (1 of mixed race)

Hello Bond James Bond,

That's such an illuminating pattern. Poor OJ :(. Clearly Centaurus is right. "White" equals injustice and racism. "Black equals justice and open-mindedness. Obviously, the poor guy never committed any robbery and was railroaded by the justice system and racist white juries. What evidence of illegality by OJ could there be?

Well Centaurus,

You can call me "Korbie" if you want too...lol.

The truth is I would have voted the same as the jury did in the Simpson case in 1995. Let me be clear. He was truly guilty as hell. But any juror with integrity dealing with the evidence and the real hard questions raised about that evidence must have had "reasonable doubt", which is the legal standard for measuring evidence. There was probably no way to vote "guilty" based on the tainted evidence as it was in 1995. But the other choice should not have been "not guilty". The fact that any case comes to the point where the evidence is not good enough to convict doesn't mean the defendant is automatically innocent. Forcing this either not guilty or guilty choice on juries is a real flaw that denies true justice in cases where there is doubt either way because no middle choice is offered. In my view there should be three choices...not guilty...guilty...and no decision or "unproven". But there is no doubt he killed his wife, and at the very least the audio tapes show that in this latest case he broke in, held others captive, and attempted to steal this property. He sure didn't use any legal means to try to retrieve it.

Truly,

Korbel

I've read a half dozen books on the 1995 Simpson trial & i've concluded that the prosecution team of Darden/Clark/Hodgeman lost the trial once the final juror was selected. They screwed up, plain & simple. For one, the final jury they selected didn't truly reflect the area's ethnic population. Remember, he was supposed to be judged by 'a jury of his peers'. They could have as many caucasians on that jury than the other ethnic jurors. The prosecution was so certain that they had a slam-dunk case that they got cocky & figured they could easily convict him with the majority of jurors being black. They also figured the black female jurors on the jury would side with the victims. Wrong. The black women had it in for the gorgeous blond woman who stole their handsome black star athlete from them. They also absolutely loved Johnny Cochrane & his charisma surpassed Darden's by miles. Also take into account that most of those jurors weren't exactly very bright & they simply didn't understand or care about the DNA evidence presented to them by the prosecution, which was the staple of their case against Simpson.

Darden also committed a grave error when he insisted that Simpson put on the glove, not taking into account that the glove had shrunk over time due to the dried up blood on it. Simpson would also be wearing latex gloves when putting on the glove & the fact he was a movie actor benefited him as he grimaced in front of the jury while putting on the glove. It was possibly his best acting performance in his entire life!

But finally, they absolutely loved it when in his final summation to the jury, Cochrane put on a toque similar to Simpson's in order to show the jury that toque or not, he still looked like Johnny Cochrane, and OJ Simpson wearing that toque was still OJ Simpson & anyone would have been able to recognize him. He then called detectives Lang & Vannatter and refused to them as "the evil twins of deception", called Furman a racist & a bad cop (i actually think he's a fantastic detective & read several of his books) who helped set up Simpson.....and his best line of the whole trial: "If it don't fit, you must acquit! If it don't fit, you must acquit!" What a brilliant performance by the great & late Johnny Cochrane!!

The black jurors had seen blatant racism & corrupted cops for most of their lives & it wasn't very difficult to convince them that there was a strong possibility that Simpson had been framed......yes, even if the evidence to convinct him was unmistakenable & staring at them right in their faces. There's no way in hell that with the jury pool that was chosen would convict a black man of Simpson's stature.....especially with a famous black attorney like Johnny Cochrane leading his defense.

Hello Doc,

Besides the fact the the general evidence became so tainted, it would have been just impossible for African-American jurors to convict for the reasons you cited. I remember after hearing the verdict thinking two things. First, how could anyone do anything else given the verdict choices and the type of evidence. Second, how could all of these African Americans go back to their home and face "Black society" with all the factors of poor evidence, and the depth of social and racial resentment. Of course DNA evidence was new and not well-understood or as reliable at the time. But overall, there was no way there was going to be a conviction in such a poorly handled (by the prosecution) and racially charged trial.

Sadly,

Korbel
