What do you think this number would be?

Lets not count Strip Dance.

Prostitution + massage with a HE.

Think 70-80% of men in cities like Frankfurt, Bangkok where paid sexual services r affordable & highly accessible. Spend a couple of months in these cities & most’ll forget about porn or even how to jerk off.

It's hard to establish because most men will lie about it.

But considering all these old couples not sleeping in the same bed for decades and having sex once a year with chance, we can imagine that a bunch of them explored "other options".

Same for eternal singles who don't go out much.

I think exactly the same as you.

I did a little survey around me, and if all the guys are telling the truth, it would be around 75%

In all honesty unless I am finding the percentage of men doing this for the purpose of research and it is my profession to figure this out I could care less really. So what if it is some high number? So now you can feel better and not some social pariah? If it is a low number and now you feel some sort of guilt? Waste of time. Tell you what many of you guys here on this board have a much more fulfilling and satisfied sex life than those who didn’t “pay” for it. Plus waste precious time and resources trying to obtain it for “free” where you may end up living life full of bitterness. Not a great place to be. Just ask all those idiotic pick up artists and tell you what the so-called Alpha males don’t fare any better. Also I am sure quite a few of you this darn hobby inspired you in ways you didn’t even realize like helping building or creating something like a business.

I would agree that we all had a day or an other payed for sex. And by "we" I mean guys over 50. Not sure for the younger ones but my gut feeling is that it is more or less the same. We pay for stripper, massage, sp and even our legit one... I am not sarcastic, it is just the way it is. Some guys I met even decided not to get in a stable relation ship. They find it easier to pay a nice dinner and finish the night with the girl if she wants too. Other stick to strippers, massage parlors or SP. When I'm dating someone, I'm out of those activities and I don't save a penny.

I would say around 10%

Noooo way. If we are talking about men who have paid once or more and not men who pay regularly, I'd put it way higher. I do not have a single male friend who has not paid at least once. Usually a lot more. Too many super normal people, the average man who's family and friends would swear he's not the 'type' is the average man who visits sex workers. I'd say close to 90% IMO. Most just won't ever admit it.

I don't think it is necessarily about feeling better, although there are some people who are very conflicted about it and experience a lot of shame. I think knowing that the percentage is high should us see how ridiculous it is that it is such a taboo and there is so much stigma if most men do it.

Men feel shame and hide it because they know that most women will judge and not accept this. If more men just admitted it and ditch the shame, what do you think women would do? They'd have to accept it. What are you going to do if it's the norm and no one is apologizing for it.

Personally I think that is the only way to make it acceptable. I chose to be super open about it to friends and I didn't even give them the chance to treat me differently. If you are not showing shame about something, you take away other's power. They just gotta deal with it.

I can't say everyone accepted it, but why live with shame. You choose to do it, grow some balls and own up to it. (I am aware and do understand that not everyone has this option, due to their own situation ie marriage , religion, professional life, whatever. But a lot of people could afford to take that risk and chip away at this stupid stigma our society imposes on us. Honestly, most men do it.)

My 2 cents.

10% it's impossible.

If I look into my old workplace which is considered a conservative environment, (I was working in the medical field). I would say to my knowledge 30-40% at least, but who cheated on their partner at least 60-75%.

It always starts with a bit of seduction, and it always has crecesdo.

I highly doubt people in any workplace go around casually discussing if they have paid for sex or cheated on their spouse.
They probably would not answer a questionnaire on those subjects either lol.
Your knowledge is nothing more than a guess, which may be right or wrong.
If I had to guess probably more than 99% have paid for sex that post on Merb and maybe 80% have cheated on their partner but I am just guessing.

Fradi, it is obvious that this is only a personal estimate.
Who asks their co-workers about this?

I found it amusing to assume that all kinds of men I interacted with in regular everyday situations were secretly paying for it. Especially the ones who really didn't seem like it. That's the men I met when I was in this business, totally normal men. So I know most men have that secret lol I loved picturing the serious dentist's double life. I'm a weirdo, I know.
