had an unpleasant experience lately with an sp. I was finished the session when she mentioned she was having her period. this girl allowed daty. Now I didn't notice but geez. I tried to explain this was very dangerous for the male. Just to make sure we all ask. I think many girls work during their periods.

Of course they work during their periods. Do you work 3 weeks out of 4 in a month?
It's high-availability job buddy. And, yeah some put a sponge - paper towels inside. It absorbs and also alllows you to SOG. That said some will tell you not to stick it in (your fingers) on certain days.

Explain to me how this is more dangerours to the male than DATY during the rest of the month. Menstrual blood does not carry anything that vaginal fluid does not...and yes I have eaten out women during their period, many are hornier during "that time of the month"

I think you need to be realistic about this ronny. I hope you are kidding about it not being more dangerous, either that or very nieve about STD. The concentration of HIV virus in pure vaginal fluid is very low. the virus is not secreted by these glands, thus daty is generally a safe activity. Now, HIV is highly concentrated in blood and thus turns daty into a risky activity. I would not recommend it. Obviously, all activity has some risk but exposure to blood is generally considered highly risky. That is why physicians spend so much time avoiding exposure to blood products from HIV patients but feel different about other contact

This site explains that daty during period is a higher risk activity.

http://hivinsite.ucsf.edu/InSite.jsp?doc=2098.3d32&page=pr-04-02

"If the woman is HIV positive, certain cofactors are likely to make her more infectious, such as menstruation, high viral load, infection with a sexually transmitted disease, and use of hormonal contraceptives. Oral vaginal sex during menstruation is considered a higher risk than when the woman is not menstruating. A strong odor can be an indication of a vaginitis, a risk factor for HIV transmission. "

This last link has an article that states:

"The levels of HIV in vaginal fluid vary. They are likely to be highest around the time of menstruation (having your period), when HIV-bearing cells shed from the cervix are most likely to be found in vaginal fluid, along with blood. Oral sex will therefore be more risky around the time of menstruation."

Hope this helps :)

The main reason DATY, (and ) is considered low risk is that HIV does not transmit through SALIVA, unless you have a cut in the mouth , like from burshing your teeth, bit toungue, ...it is low risk for HIV.

Quoted fron the CDC (Center for Disease Control) web site:
``. Contact with saliva, tears, or sweat has never been shown to result in transmission of HIV. ``

That said, herpes, syphillis, clammydia, gohnnoreah, can all be transmitted through saliva. Most of these are now curable, except herpes.

Daty and will always carry the risk of transmission of these other infections, any time of the month.

franky says
ronnie, you can back track but franky was pointing out that you believeing daty during menstration is no riskier than at other times is simply false. The point is that, I believe a sp should warn or not allow daty during this time. Alas, they probably wont, such is life. Next time franky has a date with you, I promise to not inform you of my outbreak, since it really doesn't increase the risk (I hope you undertstand sarcasm)

franky> I did just learn about the increase in risk from Sophia's post, (thank you Sophia) but I was basing myself on the CDC web site. You would still need a cut in the mouth to get HIV from DATY. Sarcasm understood and appreciated.

SMACK APPEAL > oh yes must not forget about hepatitis...I hope all of you SP's and hobbiests have had your vaccines for A & B.
