Have to agree, enough pressure on the kid as it is.

Doc, who do you think will do better in the 2016/2017 season, the scabs or the dead things? Tough call!

It's a tough call indeed.

The habs rely 100% on Carey Price. Without him, they're a lost team and i have a feeling the lineup won't change much this season. Same coaching philosophy with Therrien returning behind the bench. If Carey Price can find a way to get back to his old form and remain healthy for a full season, they'll be a playoffs team. If he gets hurt again (remember, he's now an injury-prone goalie....the Joffrey Lupul of goaltenders), then the habs will struggle.

As for Detroit, the loss of star player Pavel Datsyuk will be devastating. Henrik Zetterberg isn't getting any younger. No one has stepped up to replace Niklas Lidstrom on defence. The goaltending situation is confusing and they may not even get Mrazek back if he signs elsewhere (he's RFA). It should be close, but i'll give a slight edge to Detroit since they have a better management duo than the habs.

Imagine for a second if Tampa wins the cup, or really, even if they don't they have done very well without Steven Stamkos. So lets say "what if" they decided they do not need Stammer going forward? That means the (not) great Steve WHY will be letting SS walk for FREEE!!! Steve Why's new name will be Steve Ooops!

Best case scenario here will be the bolts do not win the cup and Stammer "Bolts" out of Tampa for Heaven, aka Toronto.....sorry Smuler, no way is SS going to Newark lol.......

Considering their best player Kucherov and Killorn will be expecting considerable raises during the offseason and that Hedman will be UFA in 2017, it'll be nearly impossible for TB to re-sign Stammer even if they want him back. Tyler Johnson is also expected to get a raise in 2017. Big Ben Bishop is also UFA in 2017.

Nice to see hometown boy PK Subban cheering for his Raptors throughout the playoffs. He was at courtside once again yesterday when they defeated Miami to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals against King Lebron's Cavaliers. It's obvious that PK loves his hometown Toronto and would love even more to live there year-round. But sorry PK, it ain't happening!!!! ;)

The Deadtroit Dead Things are 0-2 and looking like a very bad team so far and will likely miss the playoffs this season IMHO :)

Can the mods please reinstate joel cairo, it is just not fair he has an excuse not to be here for this horrible season (likely) that the dead things are about to have (hopefully)

Ouch, thought the Leafs were going to win one, Patrik Laine looked very good in the game.

Hey we both never had much of a problem with him unless he started in with the personal insults, plus it gave us good banter at party's to share a few laughs over some ice cold Stella's at his expense (the laughs not the beers) LOL

Looks like the leafs should not score 4 goals, a bad number for them, ahead by 4 playing Winnipeg and a loss, 4-2 with Chicago and 2.5 min left and a loss.

Interesting. Thanks for pointing this out. I'll check around if it means something. I sure hope it doesn't cause them to try to start playing ultra-defensively. They've been extremely exciting to watch so far this season. Sure, they had a few tough losses, but i don't expect them to make the playoffs anyway. As long as they're competitive and entertaining, i'm fine with that. The playoffs would be a bonus.

p.s. Edmonton may actually be the real deal after all. At least they're finally on the right track organizationally.

They started out well last year and became a flop, I am content now but will wait until 25 games are over before I get too excited.

Heard a joke on the radio up here so I thought I would pass it on.
Radio announcer said he was looking for a present for the Leafs, wanted to give them something that they did not have but could not find a can of an ounce of talent.
Note: Something I heard, being an Oiler fan it is hard to trash any other team....

The save percentage is going downhill for Freddie Anderson like a runaway train on skis. Tonight 7 goals on 23 shots for a 69.6% save percentage. I don't recall seeing a lower percentage for a goalie who was not pulled during the game.

Freddie has been horrible but it starts with the defense. Matt Hunwick and Roman Polak have no business on this team. The guys on the Marlies are better than both of them.

Patrick Roy in his last game with the habs.

Andersen has been absolutely awful and he better get his act together or else Babcock will have him sent down to the minors & call-up Garrett Sparks, who was the Leafs' best goalie during the preseason. Polak was signed as a free agent and isn't going anywhere. He was on a Stanley Cup final team, so he can't be that awful. Hunwick isn't being used properly in my opinion. He's getting way too many minutes for a player of his calibre.

But the problem is that Andersen couldn't stop a beachball if his life depended on it. It must be demoralizing on the players. I didn't know much about him before he joined the Leafs. He looks slow. He's from Denmark. He's also never been a starting goalie in this league and i'm starting to wonder what they saw in him to give him a 5-year contract. Maybe it's time to go with Enroth for a while.
