Battle of the lowest today, my GEO against the Leafs, not sure what team will show up. Looks like the Oilers called up the Condors goalie and sent Neilson down.

Here's hoping that the Oilers will win. A loss for the Leafs is a win at this time of the year.

As you all know my world famous GEO are stuck at the bottom....again. Pretty well a given that one or two of the previous first round picks will be traded, hopefully for some fucking defense. I am hoping that with some additional help on defense Talbot will earn his keep, kind of hard to blame Talbot for the losses with the shit playing in front of him. I had hoped that after the all-star break and McDavid coming back a playoff chance was possible ( very weak division at the time ). Damn... my GEO playoff thong gets hung in the closet again....

STN, the former management team set that franchise back years by refusing to send down those kids, some might say they "ruined" some of them. I wish the NHL would put a mandatory age rule for a player to be in the NHL, like 20. Let these kids grow into their bodies and mature a bit instead of unleashing a massive amount of riches upon a 18 year old "kid" with all that free time on their hands. At least you do not heat about many of these kids getting into legal troubles like many NFL players though.

Not wanting to get too excited yet but tonight will/may be 3 wins in a row, now only 11 points out of a playoff spot since the division we are in really sucks.

Did anyone get the license plate # of that truck that tore through deadtroit this afternoon? Phil "the thrill" Kessel had five points to lead the Penguins over the lackluster and fading detroit dead things 7-2! No Babcock No Playoffs? Could be, it just could be......

Karma, ah she sooooooooooo Sweet!

You just can't replace a future HoF coach with a nobody and expect the team to be as successful as it once was. The next decade will be many years of pain for the Red Wings. It wouldn't surprise me to see them playing as bad as they did back in the 70's when they were among the worst in hockey.

Oilers played their last game in their old arena and will begin next season in their new world class arena..... After last nights sad excuse for a final effort they deserve nothing world class, skated around, knowing last place is wrapped up again and probably another first round pick they put in zero effort, no lets give the fans a last game decent effort, nope just some skated around and ..... fuck... yeah, my feelings. The 5-0 was not really all Talbots fault as the team just fucking sucked. See I am upset when I say fuck, when I argue with someone and do not use fuck I am never upset. There is a difference

Look on the bright side: better days are ahead.

The Oilers have to make a lot of moves. Hanging on to those former first-round picks forever isn't helping. They must trade those players for good defencemen. They also need several veterans. Edmonton is a very tough place to attract free agents, so those players have to be obtained via trades and the Oilers have a lot of trade bait.

If the Oilers get another first round pick I wish they would trade it for defense even a top goalie if one was available, throw in Hopkins/Yak if necessary for a package.

The only Oilers worth " A LOT" of trade bait is Hall and McDavid....yakupov is overrated as is Hopkins and eberle. What they have that is worth anything is the #1 overall pick they will likely get for another failed season.

Yakupov is a first-round bust. I'm not even sure i'd give up a 2nd-round pick for him. Hopkins is a good player, but he's a younger Joffrey Lupul in that he's injury-prone. He's made out of glass. I like Eberle. He's probably their best trade-bait. Any team trading for him will get him for another 3 years. The price for him is likely high, but that's a mistake if you're the Oilers. Any team willing to take on his $6 million/year cap hit should be welcomed with open arms if you're the Oilers.

I wouldn't trade Bozak for Ted Nugent Hopkins and Eberle is still overrated for what he's paid. habbies fans on another site think reuniting yak with galchenyuk will help him get his game back from junior, haha I highly doubt it but I hope bargain bin trades for yak and gives up a first rounder.

Neither would i trade Bozak for RNH. I agree that Eberle isn't worth the current salary they're paying him. That's why they should put him on the market since many teams would like to have him. He's also been victim of the injury bug way too often.

As for reuniting Yak with Chucky, it could happen mostly because the habs are obsessed with Russians. But Chucky's game has improved considerably over the past couple of months. It's entirely possible that it's mostly because the pressure is off with the habs out of the playoffs and also because he finally got rid of his psycho stripper girlfriend, which had become quite problematic these past few months. Not surprising, actually. I've had several stripper friends over the years and every single one of them had the common denominator: they all had a bit of a nutty side.

When the games mattered, AG was average or a notch below, when there was no hope to make the playoffs, AG was much better, that says it all. He can prove he is a #1 centre in the first half of next season when the hab-nots are not yet mathmatically eliminated. ;)

Welcome back ballsimic! wheres your buddy?
