You're the captain of your own ship, remember? If anything, ask someone you know and trust. Not random people on the internet. Who knows what their real ulterior motives might be for being here.

Or probably the most important answer. Follow that heart of yours. HB

Whenever I see the Christmas merchandise I feel like I need to leave the continent
I think Christmas is the best part of winter.
Time to see the whole family, give presents, good food, play with grandchildren just a fun fabulous time there is nothing like being with your family and grandchildren especially at Christmas time.

I'm glad it's fun for you! I don't enjoy it but I'd like to spend it with friends this year

you're not alone, I don't like Christmas at all anymore. Sure, as a kid it was a magical time. I have great memories of that time of year from my chidlhood. And I tried to recreate some of that magic for my kids, but at some point that magic disappeared for me.

As I got older it just became a chore. Plus Christmas is basically a religious holliday wrapped up in intense commercialism, two things I am not fond of.

I don't mind it being an excuse to catch with family you would not otherwize choose to see lol, but even then it feels so contrived.

The best Christmas i had is when I escaped to Mexico for the season

I think for me family gatherings are a bit overwhelming, and Christmas over the years has become very stressful because of the pressure. I also have positive memories associated with people who aren't in my life anymore, so it's painful to think about it. :( A lot of my friends leave town during the holidays as well. I'm honestly hoping to get bookings during the holiday season to make up for it! Last year I had cocktails at the Ritz with a really cool gentleman and it was pretty much the highlight of my holidays.

Random thoughts : from a SP's perspective, having extremely high and specific expectations for a booking will not really serve you, it will just put pressure on the booking and actually lower your chances of having a good time. I don't mean that you shouldn't be looking forward to enjoying what is basically a luxury, because obviously it's normal to expect to have a good time. But as far as I'm concerned my best sessions were with gentlemen who were pleasantly surprised to discover who I am as a person and what their dynamic with me is, rather than people who were very finicky during the booking process or over analyzed everything during our time together.

stores should have a virtual gift card system where you can directly gift to someone while able to say it is from whom and received an email if it has been redeemed, not send me a copy of the gift card too. I don't know why it is so complicated

It is children that make Christmas magical and I don’t mean grown up ones but little ones that still believe in the magic of Christmas.
It does not have to be religious at all, more just a great occasion for families to get together enjoy each others company, great food and wine and just to be together.
