This is why you will always be regarded as one of the really nice and kind people posting here.
Kindness takes so little effort and makes a world of difference.
It's not always easy to feel grateful for what you have and for moments that are enjoyable. I try to practice it every day. I won't lie, I'm not always great at it. :) But working on it for sure.

Random thought: I hope I am no one’s “black friend”. I hope no one I know has ever said “I’m not racist, I have a black friend” while thinking about me.
Bitter bitter chicken dinner (rotisserie not fried). You just had to go there lol.
Why bring up something from another closed thread and call it random.. .
Your (emotional) bitterness is palpable.
Too much free time, perhaps?
Have a wonderful day and know when to not rehash things that have been closed and concluded.

You are the only one who was hurt by that joke. Others seem to have found it funny and didn’t think to add to the joke but you…you just had to go there lol

I think adding you to the long list of people I ignore will be very good for my merb experience. Anytime I read your comments, they always seem to come from a place of hatred.

Soothe your heart ❤️

You're the captain of your own ship, remember? If anything, ask someone you know and trust. Not random people on the internet. Who knows what their real ulterior motives might be for being here.

Or probably the most important answer. Follow that heart of yours. HB

Around the corner
Whenever I see the Christmas merchandise I feel like I need to leave the continent
I think Christmas is the best part of winter.
Time to see the whole family, give presents, good food, play with grandchildren just a fun fabulous time there is nothing like being with your family and grandchildren especially at Christmas time.

I'm glad it's fun for you! I don't enjoy it but I'd like to spend it with friends this year

you're not alone, I don't like Christmas at all anymore. Sure, as a kid it was a magical time. I have great memories of that time of year from my chidlhood. And I tried to recreate some of that magic for my kids, but at some point that magic disappeared for me.

As I got older it just became a chore. Plus Christmas is basically a religious holliday wrapped up in intense commercialism, two things I am not fond of.

I don't mind it being an excuse to catch with family you would not otherwize choose to see lol, but even then it feels so contrived.

The best Christmas i had is when I escaped to Mexico for the season

I think for me family gatherings are a bit overwhelming, and Christmas over the years has become very stressful because of the pressure. I also have positive memories associated with people who aren't in my life anymore, so it's painful to think about it. :( A lot of my friends leave town during the holidays as well. I'm honestly hoping to get bookings during the holiday season to make up for it! Last year I had cocktails at the Ritz with a really cool gentleman and it was pretty much the highlight of my holidays.
