I’m not so sure that they are wrong.
Has making drugs illegal ever stopped addicts from getting them.
Did prohibition stop the use and manufacturing of alcohol.
Was it better when weed was illegal.

I don’t use drugs at all, I prefer a glass of wine or a cognac but I think making weed legal was a step in the right direction, at least now people are not arrested and jailed for something that is no worse than ordinary cigarettes and alcohol and they can get it from a government store where they can be sure it is safe for them to consume.
Perhaps making it legal for a small amount will stop a lot of the criminal activity surrounding drugs and if it can be administered in a safe hospital setting all the better and perhaps introduce a program to help addicts get off it at the same time.

Prohibition also enabled organized crime. Victimless crime laws by the government means feeding the drug cartels. Legalizing drugs is the way to make organized crime groups loose power.

It's not legalized just decriminalization, importing and distributing is still illegal.

Seems that there are less weed consumption as years goes by.

I meant importing and distributing. Because the government made it illegal it supports drug cartel and organized crime. That should all be legalized. Leave it to the private sector. Drug cartels and organized crime will loose a lot of power, drugs are their main source of income.

Drig cartels and organized crime are puppets in the larger scheme of things.

Except going cold turkey can kill people (literally). I suggest you read up on the concept of harm reduction (réduction des méfaits)

I am one of those people. The only way is through total abstinence.
