Look behind you.
Anyone know where to get good fish & chips? Oddly enough Drummondville does not have one ( my ex claims fish & chips are too English and people would not go there, sounds fucked up but this is what she says ).
Anyways, one of my weaknesses.... Homemade tartar sauce and some good ale :whoo:

There's a Brit & Chips 2-3 blocks down from the W, on Rue McGill. Decent.

Not a date spot, but neither is fish & chips date food.

If you find them, please do let me know! I am a fish & chips addict and have been disappointed far too many times.

Burgundy Lion on Notre Dame does the best I've found in the city so far, but they still leave room for improvement. They also have Yorkshire pudding, yum.

The only down side, since it's a very small restaurant, it gets really loud in there. To make sure you get a table, make a reservation. I was there mid week and the place was packed

Great post Gabriela
I went last summer exactly @6 to check the food out. It was very good , and pricey as well
And you are right, it was loud in there

Where I belong.
Would agree with both Wolfie and Tianna...Brit & Chips on McGill and Burgundy Lion on Notre-Dame are very good venues for fish and chips!
Brit and Chips also has a location on Cotes-des-Neiges, not far from Edouard-Montpetit.

not a restaurant but if you want to treat someone to something crazily delicious, Pâtisserie Rhubarbe in Laurier East. one of the best hidden gems of le plateau
It certainly is. I was turned on to this place by the now-retired sweetheart, Molly. Their pistachio cake is nothing short of magnificent.

Went to Brits after my meeting today, like their batter, lots of fries and good ale.... very busy place and a little small ( cramped )...

Ooooooh, very nice! Thanks sharky! I've been going to tourist traps, I guess - with Le Bremner, Garde Manger and Le Filet. I'll have to try a few of these spots out on my next trip.

Sweet, will walk over to take a peek at their menu later today. Maybe that or Laloux tonight. Thanks sharky!

My only nit is miso black cod is so ridiculously easy to make yourself, I've stopped ordering it at restaurants, but always open to going to back to favorites... for all things delicious! :D

Will write a trip report when I get home... For restaurants this time. Disappointments and surprises. :)

I've became vegan, 2 months ago.

Best Vegetarian - Vegan Friendly restaurant.

Chuchai on St-Denis, the fake meat is pretty impressive, i've took my mom last week and usually she is not a big fan of fake meat, but she absolutly loved it. A bit pricey.

Invitation V, Camille and I, went there for my birthday, delicious vegan little french bistro. They also have a 15$ table d'hote from tuesday till thursday.

La panthère verte - Best falafel in town with a delicious tahini dressing.

CopperBranch, for the one who are craving healthy fast food. Best vegan poutine i've ever had (Miso and Shitaké dressing)

Quing Hua - A hole in the wall dumpling restaurant, but the dumplings are to die for! Shitty Service, but good for take out, or if you're not in a rush, the food is worthy of any wait. 24$ for 2big plates o dumpling + a bottle of sake. And we couldn't even finish our plate.
