Another place for Casual Dining, this is real casual, is Pastamore in le Marché de l'Ouest. It's more of a Food Court but they make there own pasta very good and very reasonably priced.

If you want some good Pho to warm the bones on these very cold January nights, try Pho Cali in Chinatown on St. Laurent. They are using a very thin noodle which distinguishes their Pho somewhat from the others. Both Chercherfemmes and I really liked it, especially the thin noodle aspect of their production.

If you like Sushi and want something out of the ordinary try Sushi Momo on the corner of Duluth and St. Laurent. It's been a long long time since Ive had sushi this good. They have been open for about 5 weeks now, and there's only 4 tables. They will reserve but call early. Not only do they have traditional sushi, they have over 30 different type on Vegan sushi.
Not expensive but really out of this world.

Next on my list is Milo's.

sushi momo is indeed pretty good especially if you want vegan. there's saint sushi bar on duluth that does very good sushi too. their tasting menu special is probably the best deal out there

Thanks Doc for the Lebanese recommendation. It is walking distance from where I am staying on the next trip and I will try it since I love Lebanese. I usually eat at Basha's, which I really like but the reviews treat it as though it is just fast food - but they do that with Harvey's too, so what do the snobs know.

Trust me, once you've eaten at Boustan, you will never again want Basha or any other. There are now two Boustan restaurants.....the more popular one on Crescent & DeMaisonneuve, and a newer one on St-Catherine street, past St-Denis.

They both deliver for a very reasonable price.

Where else besides Le Bremner can I find princess scallops in Montreal? And at a reasonable price? I'm tiring of getting ass-raped by the check. BTW, fucking eh, Chuck Hughes knows how to stock his restos full of gorgeous women, no? Pop a few oysters, and other delicious shellfish, be surrounded by beautiful eye candy - who needs strip clubs? I'm ready to screw after that.

Both high end places, but not as pricey as old port.

Sushi Crescent I've been on 2 occasions and I find their sushi to be heavy on the rice. The dining area gets really loud at times as the sound seems to echo off the walls.

Kanda has a location on Bishop north of De Maisonneuve accross from Concordia Hall building. I have not been there in a very long time.

The place to be seems to be Sushi Ste-Catherine corner Saint Mathieu/Ste Catherine across from the Jean Coutu. I've been there on 4 occasions and this place is always packed and you get a vast selection of items to pick from on the menu. They do not pack their sushi with too much rice unlike Sushi Crescent.

sushi and buffet in the same sentence in montreal, is not a good mix. if you're looking to eat as much as you can and don't care for quality then, any sushi buffet is good. if you're looking for good sushi, you're better off going to sushi restaurant where you have to pay for quality (doesn't have to be expensive)

kanda back in the days was good. its not anymore. sushi crescent is meh. never went to ste-catherine as i just give up on good sushi buffet
