Another rock legend passed away: Neil Peart of Rush at the age of 67 from brain cancer. So sad, especially coming right after the death of Ginger Baker, another iconic drummer. Thanks for all the great music, Neil. Another part of my youth gone...

A farewell to the true king!

Thanks BBW hunter to start this thread for a farewell to my hero and the best ever drummer of all time that inspired so many great and amazing drummers.

People that know me knows I'm a huge fan of RUSH, listen to their albums since high school :music:, attended all Rush concerts since late 80's at the Forum, Bell Center and "les plaines d'Abraham" at Quebec city. :clap2:
Even attended 3 shows in a row at MTL, Quebec and Ottawa with friends like we were part of their roadies for Test for Echo tour! Lol!

The dog is sad today! My heart felt apart when I learned his death yesterday and I'm still in shock. I feel like I lost an old friend.
Thanks Neil for all the amazing songs and awesome RUSH shows I had the privilege to attend over the years! I'll keep you in my heart till my last breath my friend!

RIP Neil!

Lucky guy! My first one was Hold your fire tour at the Forum and it was around 20$ CDN. The last one at Bell Center in 2015 was around 120$ CDN and it was well spend money like all top SP I had the privilege to meet!

...well without Peart, Rush will never be the same!
Totally agree!
And it was clear for Alex and Geddy when Neil announced his retirement after last R40 tour in 2015 that they can't tour with another drummer!

There was a recent rumour that Mike Portnoy former drummer of Dreamtheater (another great drummer and fan of Neil) may tour with them for the 40th anniversary of Permanent Waves albums.
But Mike set the record straight that we was not joining Rush even if it will be a pleasure for him to tour with them. The rumor come from a joke article appeared on a spanish's rock website:

You saw the new stuff. It was August 28th, 1979 at Pine Knob. Musically, it was my favorite concert and my friends and I had row 10 center stage the entire row. It was perfect.

We have assumed control. We have assumed control. We have assumed control

It was such a fucking great concert. I remember they rushed the stage and we fought for our row. It was a near riot.

I'm listening to 2112 on my computer. How pathetic. I used to blast this out on speaker the size of a refrigerator and the walls would shake.
