I don't know which is best, an incompetent Prime Minister in many aspects or a candidate that has some questionnable positions ?

Are you talking of Jagmeet Singh because he is the only one with "some" question questionable positions. Poilièvre is just an opportunistic right wing guy and have no real position. Always blaming with false, out of the track arguments. Trudeau is an easy target but Poilièvre is so stupid, he is shooting everywhere more often in his own feet.

Today's Leger Poll.
Across Canada
Question: Does Poilievre have what is needed to be Canada Prime Minister. 23% YES 45% NO 32% Don't know/No answer
Question: Should Trudeau be candidate for the next election 26% YES 55% NO

Poilièvre should be at its peak now with all the things happening to the Liberal Party of Trudeau.
Canadians judge that Poilièvre is not a valid choice.
We could/will see a displacement of votes from the NDP toward LPC.
Mean while, even with Trudeau, Poilièvre will continue to be a loser. With any one but Trudeau, Poilièvre will be a Big loser and the Conservative Party will have to find a new leader...

I wonder what's the split in Ontario. Idiots didn't give a shit and now they're stuck with Doug Ford. Could see that happening with federal elections too.

Interesting. Latest Nanos research shows Poilievre in the lead. I am not surprised, you just cannot do worse then Trudeau. Worst government ever. People are beginning to wake up, this is the beginning of the end of Trudeau. Unfortunately he did so much damage since 2015 and it will take years to recover from it.

Direct Quote from Article:

"Usually whoever is the prime minister has some sort of advantage. Right now, Pierre Poilievre outpolls Justin Trudeau," said Nik Nanos, pollster and chair of Nanos Research, on the latest episode of CTV News Trend Line.

Aside from their sagging numbers on the ballot and preferred prime minister question, the other key metric where the Liberals have fallen behind is on the Nanos power index, which is a composite of measurements including voter preference and leadership impressions, as well accessible voters – the proportion of Canadians who would consider voting for a party.

"Over the course of the last while, the Liberals have consistently had an advantage on the power index and had a stronger brand. Now we see the Conservatives surpassing them for the first time in a couple of years since the last election, when the Conservatives had a little bit of a surge," said Nanos.

"For the last … 50 years, the Liberals traditionally have always had a larger pool of accessible voters. That means people that would consider voting Liberal," said Nanos. That was certainly true in the 2015 election when Trudeau secured a majority for the Liberals, who took 184 seats compared with Stephen Harper's Conservatives, who won 99.

"But since 2015, the proportion of Canadians that would consider voting Liberal has gone down. So they've gone from a big tent … to a narrower tent. And as a result, it's impacted the political muscle of the Liberals," said Nanos.

Well you can read the rest of the article yourself. Poilievre is not perfect, but the alternative (Trudeau and Freeland) is madness.

Pierre Poilievre may be winning but he could still lose

Just about every reputable poll shows the new Conservative Leader ahead. Publicly, by as much as eight points. Internal polls are rumoured to show a ten-point gap. So, if an election were held right now, Poilievre would win it. He might even win a majority. Is there anything that can stop him? Yes, there is. In politics, there are always things that can defeat you. In Pierre Poilievre’s case, there are five.

  • Now, political parties are always full of idiots. Pierre Poilievre could be defeated by just one ill-timed, ill-considered remark by one of his MPs who is an idiot. Easily.
  • His debate performance: Don’t assume Poilievre is as good a debater as his partisans claim.
  • His life: In Poilievre’s case, his vulnerability is also his life, as reflected in his C.V.: he has never held a real job outside politics. Never. Apart from being a paperboy, or doing collections as a teenager, or writing a few loaded stories for a defunct conservative magazine, Pierre Poilievre has never worked outside politics. Ever. That — along with becoming eligible for a full MP’s pension at the age of 31 — is something you will be hearing a lot about in the coming election.
  • Past decisions: Pierre Poilievre has two big problems related to his past decisions. One is his unqualified support for the convoy lunatics, which is going to come roaring back onto the front pages this fall when the leaders of the Ottawa occupation face criminal prosecution. Poilievre’s fetish for the convoy types shreds his commitment to law and order at a time when Canadians want more law and order. The other big problem is his tongue. The Tory leader is a master of the verbal quip and barb. Though not a lawyer, he has an impressive ability to cut through the noise and get quoted. But many of those quotes — calling Stephane Dion a “tar baby,” suggesting Indigenous people don’t know how to do “hard work” — will come back to haunt him.
  • Him: Poilievre, like many other conservative politicians who have tried and failed is engaging and smart in private, and decidedly uncharismatic in public. He doesn’t have the charm that Mulroney or Trudeau did and do. He often seems angry, and angry at the country (eg. “Canada is broken,” when the only thing that is “broken” is its politics).
Those are extracts from this article: https://torontosun.com/opinion/colu...lievre-may-be-winning-but-he-could-still-lose

We are not close to an election as NPD will support the Liberal Party.
Poilièvre will have a lot of occasions to put is feet in his mouth as he did in the past years. In politic, timing is everything, and from now Poilièvre can only go down.

I never liked Trudeau. But I also do not like the Conservative alternative: like Trudeau, Poilievre never had a real job. He is just as arrogant as Trudeau and is a demagogue appealing to the right-wing nutbars whom I certainly do not want to see in charge. Trudeau has done his time, but Poilievre is the worst leader the Conservatives could have picked for themselves: he risks scaring off the majority of voters. I could have seen myself voting for the Conservatives, given a less polarizing leader. Yes to freedom of enterprise, reducing taxes and controlling spending. No to right-wing neo-fascist Christian Right nuttery. The Cons are depriving me of a political option and I hate them for it. I guess it’s what Canada is good at: copying bad American ideas…
