Animal Names

Insisting on verbs now, are we?:D

Are you now suggesting that the Japanese celebrate the Chinese year? Wow!!! History wasn't your best subject, was it?

Animal names are used universally by athletic teams regardless of national origin and I was suggesting that if someone looks long enough they would find a baseball team in some league somewhere named after the animal in question.

Where I belong.
With Jeter and Posada headed to the DL, 2 decent starting pitchers, no bullpen before the 8th inning, and a corpse at first base, on wonders if the Yankees will be able to play .500 ball this season.

And what the fuck does this post have to do with baseball, pray fucking tell?
Hello Rumples,

One of the saddest faults of human character is the inability to live up to one's own standards. Having bemoaned the faults of this thread such as cursing, goading, and tyranny, and insisting on focused civil discussion, no relevant on subject offering had been made, making it clear the complaintent is far more devoted to his love of pissing rather than providing any worthy insight into...BASEBALL...or any real baseball post at all.

Move on,

Korbel

PS

Watch...more pissing to come.

Just got home from the game and Lester sucked. Way too many walks. The Sox offense couldn't capitalize on a below average outing by Bonderman and the bullpen again failed to hold anything. On the bright side, Yankees are again losing to a lowly KC Royal team...on the road. :D

Hello Special K,

Yup, the Yankers got white-washed 4-0. There is a silver lining. :D

April Baseball - players making adjustments and getting into shape.

Most teams are carrying 2-4 pitchers that are on the team simply to eat innings in games that are write -offs. Why risk an arm injury to a pitcher in a lost cause?

KC seems to have turned the corner with young players but they are behind teams like Colorado, Arizona, Florida, Milwaukee, who have a nice selection of young talent.

Rumples,

Interesting finish to the first Yankee / Red Sox match-up.

The great(according to you) Mike Timlin - past retirement age with a 54.00 ERA gets beat by the aforementionned corpse who is hitting (.095) about 1/3 his weight.

Trust this example drives home my point about the lack of quality major league pitching and the filler that populates virtually all major league pitching staffs.

Let's see...Timlins first appearance after coming off the DL...Lol. Everyone has a bad day once in a while. You're too much EE.

Thing is, the way Wang pitched tonight it didn't matter what Timlin did. Wang threw a masterpiece and actually Bucholz pitched a hellava game as well.

Hello Special K,

Yes, Wang's excellent pitching was the real key. And Buchholz did look very good tonight matching Wang inning for inning. That's a very good sign. But Timlin is someone to worry about. He did not do very well in the playoffs last year and this season is off to a poor start. He and a couple of other Boston pitchers may not be as bad as Gagne, but they aren't much of an improvement so far.

Worrisome,

Korbel

Special K,

Just made my point. A great match-up between Wang and Bucholz decided by someone off the DL who cannot get an out against an overweight hitter hitting below .100.

Where is the pitching depth?

I'm not going to get into a debate with you about this because you will never admit to being wrong about anything, but I'd certainly take the Sox middle relief over the Yanks for this season.

BTW, who the hell is Lisa???

Damn that popcorn sure was good tonight, I am seriously thinking of doing a orgy(3 SP's at once) after I collect all my baseball bets.:)

Question is how long will it be before Casey takes over from Mr .077 for good, I will speculate and say that his bum knee is bothering him(DL).

Question of results. If Timlin is the best available option in an important game like tonight it will be a long season.

The key to middle relief is exposure. Under fifty innings per pitcher, over a season and the pitchers flaws do not get exposed. Their arms stay strong. Over 50 and upwards of 80 innings becomes problematic as arms wear out, breakdown, etc. Too many under seven inning starts will weardown either staff's middle relief.

I see you're taking the long view again. LOL.

Can you please point me in the direction of where I said Mike Timlin was/is "great?" Mike Timlin has been "good" for many years. To all things an end must come, though as K states above, one turn, just off the DL, isn't necessarily something to worry about.

Thanks for having, yet again, nothing to say.

Hey Josey,

So it is Wang for the Cy Young...again huh? Are you still sticking to Cano for MVP? Are you willing to make a combination bet? I bet neither will make it, you bet both. Each of us has to be right in both cases to win. How about it? Do you really believe either one will happen? ;)

Hmmmm,

Korbel

I haven't looked at the past ones but what do you have with Rumples?

$320.00 that the Yankees finish ahead of the Dead Sox, it was a double or nothing bet as the delusional fool still owes me $320.00 but I am open to any kind of offer, hurry up and make up your mind before Beckett makes up your mind for you today.:p
