You certainly are, Joe. BTW, I haven't looked lately. How's Dontrelle Willis working out for the Yankees? And where in his home did CM Wang put his Cy Young award? And what do the Yankees rings look like for the last two years?
Hey Rumples,

Ohhhhhhhhhh BOOM!!! Right in the face Josey. The only rings the Spankees have seen in the last two years were when they also took it in the face as they watched the Red Sox get their World Series Championship rings at the home opener in April 2005.

Two things Josey: what kind of decision was it to pitch to Ramirez with first base open yesterday? "The decision by Mike Mussina, manager Joe Girardi and whoever else offered their two cents in deciding to pitch to Ramirez with first base open, runners on second and third and the Yankees up by one run, will go down as one of their worst all season." By Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald.

Also: aren't you supposed to get more for $27,000,000 than a breeze that was totally worthless of itself on such a cold and rainy day? With two out and two on in the eigth inning, after the rain delay, Papelbon whifs A-Rod swinging. With all the troubles Ortiz seems to be having right now it says a lot that I would rather risk a game with Ortiz in such a clutch situation than A-Rod. Peeeeeeuuuuuuuuu.

Hey, what's this silly rumor about some Red Sox fan burying a Sox jersey in the concrete and the new Spankme stadium to curse them. It's nuts, but if true it's hilarious...LOL!

Wicked, :D

I know i'm good at predictions but I am not that good, your asking a lot but If I was to make a honest prediction it would be 5-0 Yankees, Hughes, Chamberlain and Rivera combine on a gem.
Hey Josey and Rumples,

One of you was right about this prediction above...and with the Red Sox leading 3-0 in the 1st it sure wasn't the boy genius...lol. Your "gem" needs a few more million years. It's still just a lump of coal.

snicker, chuckle, chordle.

Wow!! breaking news, Terry did the unthinkable.

NO Josey,

I know how you like to exaggerate in the extreme, as with your last failed prediction today. But, Francona is clearly resting him. Yeah, I know technically there is no difference. But benching also refers to demotion, and that just isn't it in this case.

Rest well David,

Phil Hugues

Is it just me, or does it seem like Phil Hughes isn't yet ready for the major leagues? Everytime i've seen him pitch so far, he's been getting hit very hard & taken out of the games early.

I'm so stupid

I am predicting a massacre for the Yankees with Dice Walk giving up a minimum of 5 of his specialties, Hughes combines with rookie of the year Chamberlain and Rivera on a shutout(my prediction).

How incredibly stupid I am! Joe generously provides us all with a prediction for tonight's game: NY to win in a shutout and I don't sell everything I own to bet on Boston and the over!

Lest I be perceived as a bad sport, congratulations Joe T. on your Twinkees for winning a game in the series. Seriously, if only Wang could pitch every game, you might have half a chance of winning your bet with moi.

Ramirez for MVP???

Hello all,

It looks like the Cy Young award has no clear candidate yet with the demolishing of Wang last night. But, how do you tell who might be the MVP of the league? Look for a gifted power hitter in a contract year who wants a $20,000,000 option picked up for him. Yes, Manny Ramirez is tearing up the league for the time being. Oh, no predcitions from me. But Red Sox fans will probably have a lot of fun watching Manny not being so Manny this year as he tries to earn that option for next year.

How sweeeeet it is,

I dunno, Korbie. Manny might just have to fight JD Drew for the MVP.:D

Lessee, 5 dingers, one behind Carlos Pena. 18 RBI, 2 ahead of number 2. Only hitting .343. Yep, Manny's the man.

Damn my pick for MVP Ortiz is not looking too good right now, I just hope that he can contribute coming off the bench.

Oh by the way Kevin Kennedy picked the Red Sox to win the east last Saturday on the fox pre-game show which means that the Sox are fucked royally, last year he picked the Yankees, the curse of Kevin Kennedy lives on.

Senor October looking a little better today, Joe, you fucking moron®?

Tell me, Joe, since, you're so good at making predictions, who do you think will get his ERA under 8.50 first, Hughes or Kennedy?

Hello Rumples,

After giving up 8 runs in 4 innings the last time he pitched, Wang might just join that club soon. How about those Stankees last night huh.

Whoa, Ortiz goes 2-4 with 2 HRs and 5 RBIs. It's going to be hell for other teams if this is a sign of Ortiz starting to get hot with Manny already sizzling. And a pretty good job by Matsuzaka too.

Cheers,

Hello Rumples,

Well, it won't be Kennedy who gave up 4 runs in 2.2 innings last night and now has a lovely ERA near 10.00. Meanwhile, Lester did okay giving up 3 runs in just over 6 innings and the Red Sox won again while the Tankees got blanked.

Cheers,

About the Yankees.....

I've been watching the Yankees since day 1 of this season & i've come to the conclusion that most of their starting pitching sucks & if it weren't for Mo the bullpen wouldn't be any better. Other than Wang, the rest of their starters are either mediocre or average. Kennedy & Hughes don't appear ready for the big leagues. Why haven't they been sent to the bullpen instead in order to learn their craft? They risk being ruined if they're kept in the starting rotation. I like Joba Chamberlain, but the team better pray that his dad doesn't kick the bucket anytime soon or else he'll lose is focus & composure & won't be effective for the rest of the season. As for Derek Jeter, his best years are behind him. He's yet to hit a homerun & even steal a base. His defense is average at best. Giambi is hitting .116 & he plays 1st base like someone with cement hands. As for the all-star catcher Possada, he's getting paid $13.1 million, yet he's not even catching anymore since his throwing arm's dead. Will it ever come back to life? As for A-Rod, he's producing as always when it doesn't really matter. Watch his production fade by the end of the season. In the outfield, Johnny Damon is a ghost of his former self, hitting .197 & my aunt Sally has a better throwing arm than his. What the hell is going on with Robinson Cano? He's hitting a lousy .164 with no stolen bases. What the???? Joe must be glad he's in La-La Land instead!

Just a thought.....

Blue Jays Release Big Hurt

A day after getting benched and openly complaining about playing time, Blue Jays designated hitter Frank Thomas was released by Toronto, according to a report from TSN of Canada on Sunday.

On Saturday, Thomas was livid after getting benched in favor of Matt Stairs and being told by manager John Gibbons he can expect further cuts to his playing time. Thomas was hitless in his past 13 at-bats and has gone 4-for-35 since homering in three straight games April 5-8.

The 39-year-old Thomas signed a two-year, $18 million contract with Toronto in November 2006. The deal included a $10 million option for 2009, but only if Thomas made 376 plate appearances this season. Thomas, who was batting .167 with three homers and 11 RBIs in 60 at-bats, said the Blue Jays were cutting his playing time to prevent the option from kicking in. "It's pretty obvious," Thomas said Saturday. "Sixty at-bats isn't enough to make that decision. I'm angry, I know I can help this team. My career isn't going to end like this." Gibbons disagreed with Thomas' assessment. "I'm going to put the team out there that gives us the best chance to win," Gibbons said Saturday. "I feel for the guy, but right now we need more production."

Well Doc,

Have to quote this one in entirety. Geez, sounds so bleak. What in hell is Steinboner paying $200,000,000 for?

Yup. Confidence is a very fragile thing.

Average defense from Jeter would be a big improvement.

The expression, properly stated, is "Giambi has feet for hands."

As does my Aunt Gertrude and as does Ziggy's favorite SP, Naughty Mildred.
