Schilling
With the news that Curt Schilling may be on the shelf for an extended period of time, it will be interesting to see if the Red Sox panic and unload a truckload of talent in order to get Buehrle. Kenny Williams, always known for his very aggressive trade demands, will do his best to ass fuck Theo Epstein. It will be interesting if Epstein allows himself to be anally raped, or if he adopts a different approach.
Some Red Sox fans will likely look at the standings and say, "fuck it, who cares, we don't need anyone, we are up by 10 over Toronto and 11 over NYY. Why even make a trade?" Well, if there is another injury or two, suddenly things get dicy, and the season is far from over at this point.
I think if I were Epstein I would wait. Many teams will figure they are out of it and dump lesser "salary dump" type guys cheap later in July before the trading deadline. If they can't hold a 10 game lead until then, they suck.
Interesting also is speculation that Schilling hurt himself overthrowing in an effort to get that no-hitter. I did not see the game and cannot corroborate those suspicions, but I did see Phil Hughes' near no hitter in which he was injured and he was throwing unrelenting, pure smoke when he got hurt. One thing is clear, Schilling has sucked since the near no hitter.
