... have rights to all of quebec players which USED TO BE THE BEST IN THE WOLRD...

That's where your expertise is dumped !
Many of the best players in Hockey didn't come from Quebec.
Including in the Habs uniform.

And for someone who like so much the drafting... you should know the real reason why it will be different from now on !
And... why TO's never, ever will be able to beat Mtrl's record !

Keep throwing money in the Leafs, Toronto and while you are it, throw it to your Marlies who just got asswhooped...once again !

Sh!t ca va pas ben le hockey a Toronto han ?
I think you should forget about it and invest more in this woofstock !

It's getting very popular I hear !
You have... to watch at 1:52....

Maybe Max Pax will beat out Lupul and Alfie for the Masterson and you can have at least ONE thing to cheer about this offseason. Would you like the other 14 teams to send you down some food or water?... Worst scabs season in over 70 years I think i heard. Ahhhhhhh, how Sha-Weet it is.

Sha-weet you were sayin ?
Not only we had the pleasure to cheer a new GM (instead like in TO with the old Burke 'we stay the course') but Pax got the Masterton (not the Masterson BTW) and that makes 5 Habs against 4 for Boston (which is pretty good) and only 2 for the Leafs. (as always)

Now lemme hear what you can cheer about your Leafs since the 70's !

I was posting for a Leaf Fan which for some reasons they have some problems with maths.

Let's be fair: Leaf fans are experts on the number ZERO:

ZERO Cups since 1967.
ZERO final round appearances since 1967.
ZERO playoff appearances since the lockout.
ZERO Hart Trophy winners since 1955.
ZERO Ted Lindsay winners ever.
ZERO Ross winners since 1938.
ZERO Richard winners ever.
ZERO Vezina winners since 1965.
ZERO Jennings winners ever.
ZERO Norris winners ever.
ZERO Byng winners since 1963.
ZERO Selke winners since 1993.
ZERO Calder winners since 1966.
ZERO Smythe winners since 1967.
ZERO Adams winners since 1993.
A big fat ZERO in the GM's office!
AND....MOST IMPORTANTLY...ZERO HOPE FOR THE FUTURE!

Exactly.... just look at the last place team in the east this season, always hope! Even 4skin knows who that was and he knows ZIP about the coolest game on earth (sorry, Bettman gives out royalties for everytime that is mentioned) :D

except for the last part, there is always hope.

Spoken like a true habs fan, Leafs got better not worse today, and at the draft yesterday, deal with it cairo ;)

Congratulations to Luke Schenn - this must be the happiest day of his life. On a more sombre note, sincere condolences to James van Riemsdyk. Word of advice: Stay positive JVR - nothing lasts forever and one day you'll be free.

So in typical Leaf fashion two of their recent saviors (ha ha) have now been dealt.

After loudly and stupidly bragging about Schenn and the Monstrosity in the past, Burkie now as usual belatedly figures out he's blown it and gets rid of both.

In typical Burkie fashion he replaces Schenn with damaged goods: JVR, who missed half the season with a broken foot. And to boot, he's a bigger cap hit than Luke!

But of course Burkie's few remaining Koolaid drinkers will praise their lame duck GM no matter what he does. If I didn't have such total contempt for the Toronto organization I'd almost feel sorry for the fans of Canada's National Embarrassment. When the history of hockey is studied a hundred years from now, analysts will undoubtedly look back on the Burke Era as the most pathetic years ever for this hopeless sad sack franchise.

Again, spoken like a true scabs fan ;)

Sorry cairo, bash all you want, but Burke made a great trade (again) today. Do some research and you will see that the Leafs have a plethora of D-men capable of doing as good to a much better job than Luke did last season, and to boot they now have a big, young, fast and skilled guy to add to their top 6, something that was clearly needed. Job well done, Burke, well done indeed! (injury prone? and? Crosby had a severe concussion, so according to "cairo's standards" he would not be worth trading for ) JVR had a mild concussion, which many have and never miss a step, and a broken foot you say? yea, they NEVER heal do they?

The Monster just never found his place in TO and to get a pick for him (if he signs with the Jets) is great because he was not gonna be re signed in TO.

Add Morgan Rielly and Matt Finn to this weekends festivities and it was a great one in Leafs Nation.

Ig You've been singing this same tune for the 5 years that you've been on MERB. How many times have Burkie's Bums made the playoffs in that time? Answer: ZERO.

Obviously you haven't learned the appropriate lesson yet so I'll ask a couple of questions to point you in the right direction: If Burkie's moves have all been so wonderful (and you certainly believe this, since you have praised every single one!) then why does he invariably end up DUMPING the very same saviors (ha ha!) soon after (examples: Schenn, the Monstrosity, Colton "Not Bobby" Orr, Versteeg, Raycroft, etc, etc)? And why has his hopeless team FAILED to make the playoffs every single year that he's been there? And why have his results been consistently WORSE than even John Ferguson Jr?

Answer: The overrated (and overWEIGHT!) blowhard lacks the ability to be a GM. It's a perfect match: the most pathetic and embarrassing team in the NHL together with the most incompetent GM.

Give Burkie credit for one thing though: I guess he makes very tasty KOOLAID since you and a small number of other misguided Leaflovers seem to enjoy drinking it. Just be careful Ig: KOOLAID has calories - if you keep guzzling the stuff down you might end up as fat as BB himself.

Burke made 2 mistakes, one major and one minor...(no not the Kessel deal, that was a good trade for both clubs) he over valued the team he was left with by JFJ, and possibly he should of signed a vet backup goalie last season. He has done a wonderful job of adding assets and putting building blocks in place. Ask Sather how long it takes or the red wings lol (yes cairo as you know they were very bad for years and years and I doubt you would of "showed up" when they sucked, to me that just says another bandwagon fan) Who cares about Burkes weight? I could care less if he's 500lbs or a fit 175, why does that matter (he looks good for his age, why dont you post your pic here for us all to see if you like slamming others about how they look so much) Stop being so shallow, it is a very unattractive trait to have.

Why does Burke change his team? Easy, In business, and it's the same thing with building a sports team, it is risk vs. reward, In other words, if you do not take any risks, do not expect the greater reward. Burke has said many times if you make a signing and it fails, then correct it as soon as possible, which any gm knows this, but sometimes it is not that easy to do and takes time. At the time of Orr and Versteeg, they were good moves, but sometimes players do not work out and need a change and he has done that with players that were movable, unlike Komi and another one or 2. The game has changed is also another reason. He had a team that one coach wanted (wilson) of run and gun and NOW he has to retool for Carlyle of defense first...again, takes time.

Ya know cairo, its a shame your hate for a Team and fanbase over shadows your hockey intelligence as I feel you know all this stuff, but your hate really brings you down to a very "small" level most of the times. I am guilty of this somewhat (but nowhere near as bad as you) in the baseball threads but at the same time I also give credit when it is due, for example, the red sox fans must of felt like they died and went to heaven in 2004 after waiting 86 years. I can only imagine how long the parade route will be in Toronto.... some say at least 5 miles and 5 million people and trust me, I will be there if I am alive!

Mon Dieu!!!!!,

If the meaning of LOYALTY is sticking by a team in the hardest times, then this depth of FAILURE makes Leafs fans the most loyal EEEVAHHH!

He has done a wonderful job...

Then again, when results of the team sinking ever downward are compared to this statement, the total failure of perception skills among the fans explains a lot.

its a shame your hate for a Team and fanbase over shadows your hockey intelligence...

As does your addiction to delusionalism. See..."He has done a wonderful job"

I will be there if I am alive!

You WON'T be.

In 39 years the Bruins had 15 Division and 4 Conference Championships since their previous Cup victory. That's 19 Titles not including the Stanley Cup in 2011.

In 45 years the Leafs have 1 lousy Division title...PERIOD. At that rate your great, great, great grand kids will be gone too.

But things can change fast at times. There's a rumor the NHL will give the Leafs the golf clubs they are better with. :eyebrows:

Incroyable,

Merlot

Can you imagine if Subban becomes one great goaltender after all the sh!t we've read on how the Leafs need a good one...

I wouldn't be surprised for him to become one hella of a good one since playing in Boston which is known for being a very competitive sports town and community.

Plus... both Subban comes from TO.

Betcha next year, 1 out of 3 posts from our dear twins; will be against one of them Subban.

One more reason from Leafs fans again to despise both Habs and Bruins.

I wish Malcom well.... and we have a goalie by the name of Ben Scrivens (the top rated goalie in the very tough AHL this poast season) ready to take over should Reimer falter. Reimer has a clean bill of health since the "flying gianta forearm" last October ruined his season. Good luck with your scabies this season, they have a reserved spot in the basement, AGAIN!
