Who was the last competent goalie the Leafs had - Johnny Bower? (Let's not even mention overrated wimps like Cujo or the Cat).

Cairo will say Howard  and I like Jimmy but he is as good as his D is on any given night, not a game changer night after night, not a guy who will steal games for you like say a Timmy Thomas or a Marty B, he is good tho, just not superstar status like wings fans think in their delusional little world.

Eddie was good with Chicago and Dallas but he arrived in Toronto after the booze train had left the tracks.

As for Detroit, just imagine how many Cups they would have won with a great goaltender: they won FOUR (!!!!!!!!) without one - what a fabulous team!

For the record, Ed Belfour was selected to the all-star team & was a runner-up to the Vezina trophy (won by Martin Brodeur) while with the Leafs. Great goalie who likely would have played longer had he not had back problems.

Doc, shame on you  Stop trying to convince "cairo" the Leafs are a great and historical fanchise despite not having a cup in a long time, haters like him HATE it that the Leafs are all over the news daily and are still hockeys most relevant franchise and always will be, man how haters HATE that! His bias towards Canada's Team will never allow him to do so. Let him root for his hab-nots for another 40 years in peace. :thumb:

..p.s. Who's the last competent goalie that the Red Wings had...?

Actually you just made me think about a new question !
Try to mention the last competent GM, Coach, Goalie, Center, Defenceman, Right wing, left wing, etc... heck even the mascote and EVEN fan.. the Leafs had ?

Sh!t even as a Fan you guys kept saying that your team would make the playoffs, bla bla, bla... while I said from the start of this last season that the Habs would not make it and I even told you that Gauthier would be fired !

I mean you seem very good with your stats on all the other teams so why is it that with the Leafs you stink big time ?
I'll tell you why...because LEAFS SUCKS BIG TIME !!!!

THEY ARE A BUNCH OF LOOSERS who will once again next year STAY THE COURSE !
Bwahahahahahahahah ! Stay the course Burke ! keep heading into the wall !!!!

I mean the guy was very good before going to TO so WTF ?
What is it that this franchise always hit rock bottom year after year !!!!

Because they stink !!!! they suck big rhino balls ! like Merlot said !:lol::lol:

Sh!t I'm sorry... I was just on a roll since Iggy's last post about being the most relevant franchise !!!!
Gawd ! I have a cramp to my stomach now !!!
Hell I'll come back later !

Actually I never made any of it up, just quoting what others have said about the Yankees comparision is all, if you cannot handle that then thats your problem not mine. Go look at a tsn article on any given day and see how many pages there are of responses, half are Leafs fans and half are haters, which is also fact and lends to the most relevant team in the league post made. All true bud, but you can close your eyes and ears and it is not, right? Imagine what it will be like when we make the playoffs  Can you imagine the craziness when we win the cup?:eek::eek: This thread would see the disappearing acts of many haters lol.

Imagine what it will be like when we make the playoffs  Can you imagine the craziness when we win the cup?

The key word here is "imagine". You will require a GREAT imagination indeed! Your shitbag team might one day make the playoffs (especially if Burkie is shown the door!) but it will NOT win a Cup in your lifetime or in that of any children you might have - the franchise is SO inept and SO totally mismanaged that it will take many decades to succeed...and.. if the past 45 years(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) are indicative, this woebegotten bunch of hopeless losers might NEVER win the big prize.

Well, im sure when you were in your les scabitants diaper and sleepy time outfit you were imagining someday the DEAD THINGS (aka wings) would win a cup again and if memory serves me correctly that took over 40 years, of course while in the scabland romper room you were laughing out loud at that thought as well.

There is only ONE "Evah" or "EEEVAHHH" for that matter .... see my signature video

BWAHAHA!

If you EVAH see anything like my signature then you might be relevant. And, just so you can imagine what it would have looked like before the Leafs fold, there's a video of what raising a championship banner looks like. :D :thumb:

FALSE! The Leafs are the Worst All-Sports Franchise EEEVAHHH!

the distinction or condition of being a champion: to win a championship.
2.

noun Ice Hockey .

One more reason from Leafs fans again to despise both Habs and Bruins.

You mean besides playing more hockey than golf.

Sorry Gentle, but I have to agree with Igs on this one since he was referring to paper bag factory jobs, psycho-therapy profits, and laugh track production.

I've always been impressed by his...What A Life ability to name players, their numbers, positions, and stay on top of hockey news. It's too bad his view of Burke as a "genius" proves he doesn't have the ability to understand any of it.

I honestly think Iggy was the designer of the Titanic in another life, saying "the ship is UNSINKABLE" over and over as the water rose above his head and the ship plunged to the darkest depths. Eerily familiar isn't it. :amen: How else can he be explained.

Okay, off to polish the framed photos of myself holding the Stanley Cup. How sweet it is!

(ALOT with that crooked honker!) name the bruins goal song (this is what they play after a goal is scored) and is seguin a right or left handed shot? Get me these answers first, then we shall move on to your next test at being a real hockey fan, not just a homer one. Answers by high noon please.... ty ty ty :D

BONUS question! Is hockey played with a red, white, or yellow ball? Be careful, that could be a trick question, it could be another color

You mean damaged goods like ppg and allstar Phil the thrill Kessel and ppg and allstar Joffery Lupul and nothing but the sky being the limit for JVR now that he will get top 6 minutes? Those damaged goods you mean?  btw, Blake was not a Burke signing, he actually traded Blake and his 4mil yr contract.

Injuries happen to all teams all the time, it is part of the game.
Right: Armstrong (or should his name be Armweak[/U]?) is just like Connolly, Lupul, Reimer, the Monstrosity, Jason Blake, Kessel, Van Riemsdyk ... and on and on and on. Burkie's favorite players are always the injured, the injury-prone, and the feeble. The more damaged the goods are, the better Burkie likes 'em!

Of course it is but GOOD GMs don't bring in players that are KNOWN to be frequently injured or who have RECENTLY had serious problems. GOOD GMs don't...but BURKIE does!

No, good gm's bring in the Jake Gardiner's of the world and have the Joffery Lupul's of the world "thrown in" as a salary dump only to go on to become a allstar and have a breakout season. Then again Burke new what he was getting in Lupul if finally healthy. Though Burke was surprised just HOW good Lupul was once given top line minutes, but having played for Burke b4, it was a good move that turned great.
