I dont mean to kick ya while your down, but....... Ahhhhhhh who we kidding, of course I do

Habs chances of making the playoffs now down to 13.8% after yet another loss tonight :thumb:

This foolish website has the Leafs at 71%, which utterly discredits them. Considering the fact that the Leafs are only in 8th place now by virtue of their having played 2 more games than Florida, a more realistic assessment of their playoff chances would be in the 40-45% range.

If that makes you happy, Mr. Hockey, go right ahead and believe so. :thumb: i see Mtl is now up to a whopping 15.8% chance of making the playoffs. But if Toronto, Buffalo and Florida all win tonight, those chances drop even more.

Phil Esposito's daughter dies suddenly

The daughter of Hockey Hall of Famer Phil Esposito died Monday due to an unknown illness.

Carrie Esposito Selivanov, the wife of former Tampa Bay Lightning winger Alex Selivanov, died suddenly in Krefeld, Germany at the age of 43.

"I'm having major difficulties with this," Esposito told the Tampa Bay Times on Tuesday. "I'm just in shock. I cannot believe it even as I sit and talk to you. I expect her to call me and start saying, 'April fool.'"

Esposito Selivanov "coughed up some blood" about 10 days ago, her father said, but refused to see a doctor.

The family -- the couple have three children, Dylan (18), Nikko (13) and Rocco (10) -- was living in Germany because Selivanov has been playing and coaching in the Netherlands. Selivanov played in Krefeld from 2003-08.

Private funeral services will be held later this week in Germany, according to a statement from Esposito issued by the Lightning.

"We are shocked and saddened with her death but we will remember her for the energy and vigor that she brought to each day of her life," Esposito said in the statement. "Our focus will now centre on her sons Dylan, Nikko and Rocco."

Wow,

Some people sure get loud about others when their own team blows another one. It's a failed way to disguise LOSING!

As I predicted weeks ago. Leafs fans would have little else except bragging rights over a worst loser. We can all see above already how one is desperately trying to elevate sucking less like winning the Stanley Cup. What else is there. :noidea: Poor guy.

How long will my pet team the Leafs suffer........Leafs fans annual theme song.

It's so nice being a Championship team fan. NOTHING feels like winning the Cup...hmmm...well... like winning the Cup.

GO BRU-WINS,

Merlot

PS

Hey. My pet team won tonight. Hoorah! Now Iggy won't be embarrassed to focus on his own team. :thumb:

Leafs #1 on the PK in January

I just checked the NHL stats for January, and to my great surprise, the Leafs were #1 in the entire NHL for the month of January. Not only were they #1, but they did not allow a single goal while shortanded during the entire month! They have a PK success rate of 100% !!!! Someone told me earlier that he heard somewhere that a team not allowing a goal during a 1-month period hadn't been done since the mid-90's.

Is it just a coincidence that Jonas Gustavsson just happened to be between the pipes for the large majority of these games? As they say, your best penalty killer is your goaltender.

Hey my friend,

Put any word you want to in front if it, CHAMPIONSHIP is what the Bruins have, and what you and Doc will be lucky if you live long enough to see the Leafs ever get since expansion. If it galls either you that a "bandwagon fan" ( as you desperately claim) has a championship, well......:thumb: :D

LEAFSTERIA : A chronic delusional addiction to backing an annual loser.

bruins and their goaltending will implode by March. then they'll bow out in round 2 of the playoffs and blame it on the extra long 2010-11 championship season.

i called it for bosox pitching, i'm calling it for the bruins backstops.:amen:

now go back to yapping amongst yourselves. i've got sessions to book.

Bruins got swept by the 'Canes this year. Hard to explain, but thankfully, they don't play again....

The Canes have shown the rest of the league that the Bruins can be beaten on a regular basis if you follow the same plan they have. There's one concern about the Bruins that i haven't heard talked about much: the fact that they're relying mostly on a 37-year goalie who's best seasons are behind him. He was fantastic last season as a 36-year old, and was the one solely responsible for their playoffs success. But can he do it again while a year older?

Tukka Rask will likely be re-signed as an RFA after this season. His workload will likely increase as time goes on. But does he have the tools & stamina to one day become a team's #1 goaltender? Time will tell.

Correct you are my man and what a great night in the NHL it was. The Leafs pound the Sens behind James Reimers 49 save shutout and Kessel's and Bozak's 3 point nights and the habs drop to where they belong, in the basement of the Eastern Conference.
it is not a guess it is a realy Montreal Canadians.

Yeah right,

Leafs fans jealousy at it's best. No one who knows hockey could say this. Obviously you don't know that Thomas didn't score any goals last year. That's right...ZERO! But sell yourself this BS if it makes you feel better.

You also missed the fact that Thomas was 37 in all but 1 of the 25 games when he put on one of the toughest and most durable performances in NHL history during the playoffs.

This year he's been good enough to annihilate the Leafs every time. Oh wait...Thomas didn't score any of those...hmmm...25 or so goals in just 4 games either...pal. Or did Tuukka get a piece of the Leafs too. ;)

Bruins got swept by the 'Canes this year. Hard to explain, but thankfully, they don't play again....

Maybe the Canes have their number so far like the BRU-WINS have the Leafs to take target practice on, but it seems like the Bruins have slacked off lately after such a long dominating romp. As long as there are no key injuries I won't worry about much.

Cheers,

Merlot
