jalimon,
The Habs lack a dynamic offense and that is why they are coming back to Earth. The Galchenyuk and Desharnais injuries hurt their team badly. When a team that is not good offensively to begin with then loses its top center and then his replacement, things can and will spiral downwards. You cannot claim to be surprised. It's reality. I am a fan of the UConn basketball team which was preseason ranked #15 team in the country but they lost 3 players to season ending injuries, including 2 starters, they now have an 8 man team and they lost a game to Ohio State on the road because their top big man off the bench had the flu and they only had 7 bodies. They led that whole game and faded at the end of the game and lost by 4. It's reality, you can't win shorthanded. Montreal, like UConn hoops, is stuck. It really sucks though because UConns season was over as soon as these injuries happened.
