Never easy to win against Preds BUT Leafs did it 3-2 in the 7th round of the s/0. Very good match...Andersen was terrific with 44 saves and what a nice goal by Kapanen en désavantage numérique. Subban had a rough night...sans doute pourquoi Laviolette ne l'a pas utilisé dans les 7 rondes de s/o....lui qui est leur meilleur compteur ....une facon de lui passer un message. Bref a very good game.....ca commence a sentir les séries.

Look behind you.
The GEO looked looked like shit again. What would be a record is if McDavid won the scoring race and the GEO never made the playoffs, do not think that has been done yet.

Kapanen impresses me every game he plays in and not only is he possibly the fastest skater on the team but he has good offensive skills. The Leafs are a better team with him in the lineup and i think it's time that he stays with the big team. Andersen was fantastic once again & it's amazing he doesn't get Vezina consideration. He's been one of the best goalies in the league all season long and the Leafs would definitely not be guaranteed of a playoff spot right now were it not for him.

Subban was being Subban last night. A usual giveaway machine like his days in Mtl. But i'd still take him on my team because of his big shot, something the Leafs don't have on the blue line.

I listened to Pierre McGuire's interview this morning on Tony Marinaro's show. They were discussing whether the Leafs should make a move for Shea Webber. If McGuire is to be believed there's no way the Leafs should make that deal since the asking price would be way too high in my opinion. He's not worth a top player, top prospect & first-round pick. If i'm the habs i'd be happy if any team in the league would agree to take that big & long contract off my hands. But as McGuire pointed out the reason why the asking price would be high is only because of what they gave up (Subban) in order to get him. I agree, but i still don't make that deal if i'm the Leafs. I don't put a dent in my future no matter what the short-term benefits will be.

By the way, let me make an early prediction: the Nashville Predators will represent the West in the Stanley Cup final. In the East it'll be either Tampa or Boston.

Other rally...Stars were loosing 2-0 and they won 4-3 in s/o...and who do you think scored in s/o....you gpt it....SEGUIN....good year for him....of course he plays with Benn and Radulov...it helps.

BTW DALLAS--PENS......would b my second choice to play for the Cup.

Look behind you.
I have not watched the last two GEO games, too pissed. I know I can not lay the entire blame on Talbot but he sucked many games.

Leafs on again tonight, beating the lowly Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on a late goal by the great Auston Matthews with 30 seconds left to play. The Leafs look like legitimate Stanley Cup contenders right now and the latest rumours circulating have them trying to obtain Glendening from Detroit and Ryan McDonagh from the Rangers. Word is that the player whom the Rangers would take in return is Kasperi Kapanen, whom i like very much.

I'm not sure i'm making this trade if i'm the Leafs. While i've always liked McDonagh very much and he's exactly what they need on defence, he has a lot of mileage on his body and i'd be surprised he'd re-sign with the Leafs a year or so from now when he'll be a free agent. Kapanen will look great next season as a regular with the Leafs once the likes of Komarov and Bozak have departed as free agents. I love his speed and his offensive skill. He's also a heck of a penalty killer. Plus the Leafs will be facing either Tampa or Boston in the first round of the playoffs and i'm not confidant they'll be able to pass by those teams, whom i predict one of them will reach the Stanley Cup finals.

The only players right now i'd trade if i were the Leafs are the likes of Josh Leivo, Matt Martin, Roman Polak, Connor Carrick, Tyler Bozak & Leo Komarov.

Karlsson rumoured to either be going to Tampa or Nashville.

Rick Nash strongly rumoured to be heading to Boston.

Evander Kane will wind up somewhere.

Leafs after McDonagh, Glendening and Plekanec.

Boston obtains Rick Nash from the NY Rangers

The Bruins have landed winger Rick Nash from the New York Rangers. But they've paid a very steep price in order to obtain the veteran player who's a shadow of his old self.

The Bruins are sending a 1st-round pick in 2018, a 7th-rounder in 2019, prospect Ryan Lindgren, and forwards Ryan Spooner and Matt Beleskey to the Rangers.

The 33-year-old has 18 goals and 28 points in 60 games this season. The most goals he's had over the past three seasons is 23.

Nash carries a $7.8-million cap hit, which pro-rates to just under $1.7 million. He will be an unrestricted free agent this off-season. The Rangers will retain 50 per cent of his salary, the maximum allowed under the CBA.

Boston will retain a portion of Beleskey’s $3.8-million salary. The contract ends after the 2019-20 season.

TB is definitely stacked! McDonaugh on the second pairing, lol! Here, he would be our number one d-man by a good margin.
