Actually that most definately will be a "optimum" game, and when buying a ticket to see MOST games at either the Bell Centre or the ACC (where the Leafs play you rookie, lol) never expect to pay what the price on the ticket says unless you get them the day they go on sale and are lucky enough to even find one. I have a ticket buddy i have been dealing with for a couple years here in Montreal that can get you any seat level you need, but it's not cheap if you want the best seats. But the experience is worth it at least one time even if your not a huge fan.

You could always sit in the blues or whites and get a decent view for less coin but not the same experience for a Leafs/Habs encounter, IMHO. so, see you there? i will even buy you a $10 Molson Ex! just dont wear your red sox cap :)

I'm not a hockey fan and I don't play one on TV, so I need some help here. I've been offered a ticket in the "red" section to see a game between the Habs and Leafs, a team I've also seen referred to as the Loafs or Laughs, in a few weeks. I've been told the ticket price is $200.

Looking over the Canadiens ticket prices, I see that ducats in the Red A section sell for $143 for "regular" games and $200 for "optimum" games.

My question is this: do games between the Canadiens and a team which A lot of chirping from fans of a team that:

* has only won 1 game in their last 9,
* is coming off a 29th place finish,
* has missed the playoffs in 5 straight years (soon to be 6)
* hasn’t had so much as a sniff of the Stanley Cup finals in 43 seasons

qualify as "optimum" and, if so, how do the Canadiens define "optimum."

I'll try to refrain from saying anything that might confuse you. Like facts. Here's one for now: sabermetrics were responsible for 2004. and 2007. Hmm, guess I know why you don't like them.

We all know how it's gonna end up once again so.... WC ?

By the way, good news for habs fans. Nobody in the entire league wanted Dustin Boyd, so he's still a hab. As for Bruins fans, nobody wanted Brian McGratton, so he's still with the Bruins. Both players cleared waivers today.

NHL All Star Game 2011!!

Players to pick their own All Star Teams! This should be interesting to say the least. Personally I'm quite skeptical about it now but we'll see.

NEW YORK -- The NHL All-Star Game will look like a schoolyard pickup game this year.
The league announced Wednesday that it is switching from the conference-vs.-conference format it has used for years to a player draft conducted by the All-Stars themselves, in which captains selected by the players will determine the teams.
The 2011 All-Star Weekend will be hosted by Carolina on the last weekend in January.
Under the new format, two captains per team will select the remaining All-Stars in any order they choose. Those teams will compete in the All-Star Game and SuperSkills competition.
NHL vice president Brendan Shanahan says the goal is to "make the game more fun for everyone" and to "inject more excitement and intrigue into all the events."
Fans will vote for a starting team of three forwards, two defensemen and a goalie, regardless of conference. Voting begins Nov. 15 and runs through Jan. 3.
The league's Hockey Operations Department in Toronto will name the remaining 36 All-Stars to form a player pool, along with 12 rookies, for a total of 54 players. The 12 rookies will participate in the skills event, but the rookie game will not be played.
The players will then elect two captains, who will choose sides in a fantasy draft on Jan. 28. Each team must pick three goalies, six defensemen and 23 forwards, but they can pick in any order they choose.

I'd rather have them pick the starting lineups & leave the rest to the sportswriters, thus leaving out the coaches/GMs. I hate the fact the fans pick the starting lineups since it's basically a popularity vote. Players playing in cities with little fan support have nearly zero chances of being named to the all-star starting lineups.

Habs trade Ryan O'Byrne to Colorado

The Montreal Canadiens have just traded defenceman Ryan O'Byrne to the Colorado Avanlance for forward Michael Bournival. He's an 18 year old forward playing junior hockey for Shawinigan. He was a third-round draft pick of the Avalanche in 2010.

Even though the PP still stinks, the habs still find a way to win & Price so far has been marvelous. They're a team playing cohesive, team-oriented hockey & i tip my hat off to the coaches for this. One of the main differences between this team & the Leafs is that habs players seem to enjoy playing for their coach. It's a different story in Toronto, where half the team hate his guts & wouldn't mind seeing him getting fired, which may be part of the reason they're not giving it their all. It's not just a Leafs/Ron Wilson thing....it's happened to the best of them: Scotty Bowman, Pat Burns, Mike Keenan, etc. We've recently seen it with Michel Therrien & with Claude Julien a few years ago. Maybe now with Lindy Ruff? Players eventually start tuning out & new coaching philosophy is usually the tonic. It's part of hockey.

Habs blanked by Predators: Price's honeymoon over?

Mock clapping midway in the third period everytime Carey Price made a save could be heard throughout the half-empty Bell Center. Are chants of "Carey! Carey! Carey!" now a thing of the past in Montreal? Thursday evening, under 20 000 shocked habs fans left the game in total disbelief after the middle-of-the-road Nashville Predators blanked their beloved hometown team 4-0.

Fans will also not be happy to find out that $7 million man Scott Gomez is currently on pace towards a 24 pt season if his production doesn't improve. This doesn't look good for a player who's still under contract for several years to come.

The Predators, who came into the game in 13th place in the Western Conference standings, beat the Canadiens, the No. 3 team in the Eastern Conference, 3-0 to end the Habs’ winning streak at four games.

Goaltender Pekka Rinne was the difference in this game as he stopped 30 shots for his second shutout of the season. Rinne also beat the Canadiens 2-0 last season in Nashville and he extended his shutout string against Montreal to 137 minutes and 55 seconds.

Carey Price, who had allowed only three goals in the Canadiens’ four-game winning streak, gave up that many on 30 shots.

Now Doc, do you see my point when you told me Kaberle for Gomez, and he would be good for setting up Kessel? no way we need a contract that bad, with so little production, besides, i think Kadri is gonna work well with #81.

You're right. Actually, i think Maxim Lapierre is a better two-way player than Gomez.....and he has a lot of heart, which Gomez doesn't have.

Just reported on TSN, Pat Burns has left us, RIP Pat.

Very sad, but he's finally at peace & not suffering anymore. Shameful that he wasn't inducted in the HOF two weeks ago. Shame on the HOF selection committee for playing politics & not inducting this obvious future HOFer. A total disgrace!

Price's honeymoon over?

Doc ! Doc ! Doc !

You should know that there is no such thing in Quebec !
Either your good or you're not.
No matter how good or bad you were the day before it doesn't make a difference.

It's the same in politics, culture, etc...

You think we would put up with five games lost if Halak was here ?
Same sh*t !

Take politics for exemple.
One day Canada is a great place to be, the next it's a dump run by stupid as*holes.
Think it's different in Quebec's politics ? Nop ! same sh*t. One day the Liberals or the PQ is good, the next they are a bunch of retarded jacka*s !

Take Mtrl... one day it's the best place to live, the next it's a sh*t place with construction everywhere and everything falling apart.

Language ? One day english is nice and usefull, the next it's a stupid language made for lazy people, etc....

Ok now ! take MERB... one day it's a nice place, another.... WC ?

Same with u. One day I find your post very good, the next ? I like to.... :)
