Goes to show you can never have enuf "depth"... thank you Brain, i mean BRIAN Burke. :thumb:

I do not think the Great 8 (for merlow and rumps that isthe nickname of Alexander Ovechkin, aka one of the nhl's best players) will be making fun of Kessel at this years allstar game like he did last year.which was silly anyways since Phil was one of the games best then and now even better.we ty ovie!TY for motivating Kessel to being one of the top players in the entire NHL!

Even though the Leafs have 7 regulars out of the lineup with injuries, they still managed to easily beat one of the NHL's top teams. Well done, Leafs!! :thumb:

Oh yeah...Boston beat the lowly NY Islanders, one of the worse teams in the NHL.

Sidney Crosby returns Monday

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will return to the team's lineup on Monday night when the Penguins host the New York Islanders.

Crosby participated in Pittsburgh's practice Friday in Sunrise, Fla., but sat out his 61st consecutive game Saturday due to two concussions he sustained last January.

Indeed, Mr. Iggyramus. The Leafs destroyed the highly regarded Washington Capitals tonight at the ACC by a score of 7-1, which you predicted prior to the game. Eat your heart out, Joe T.....we have our very own little "Nostradamus" right here on Merb. Iggy indeed told me prior to tonight's game that it would end by a score of 7-1....unbelievable!!

And another stellar performance coming off their win last night! Hahaha, why can't this team play on B2B nights, they absolutely suck on consecutive nights this season. Very odd.

Going back to the beating that Rosehill took, please do watch the fight again and tell me that he didn't absorb more than 1 punch to the mug, please, I dare you, then after that, come back to reality and realize that he got his fucken ass kicked up and down the ice!

Maybe we both bickered, but I'd like to see how the mods feel about you using the PM issue to instigate flaming and crap disturbing.

That's not worth it Merlot and we both know why!

There, now please move on befoe you get this thread closed, thank you.

NOW, back to what this thread is really SUPPOSED to be about........... Good effort by a very tired Leafs team tonight, even tho i only caught the boxscore and read the recaps as i missed a rare game out of 82. Kessel just keeps on keeping on and Scrivens kept the Leafs close. A loss is a loss, brush it off and onto the next game. Go Leafs GO!

RightThat's right. Grab your skirts and run away when you've been challenged for proof that doesn't exist and caught in your lies. It's no wonder you have no reviews. ;)
This is your pattern. You go off-subject when you have no reply to on-subject pressure in the sports threads, you violate prohibitions against using the PM issue to instigate, lie despite the fact all your PMs to me were sent to you and the mod simultaneously so that they know everything, and the mod warned not to use the PMs or the subject to instigate trouble. Then you run away back behind the proper subject after stirring the shit. You are the shadiest thing on this board. You can't stand up like a man on sports subject without skulking back to your lies. Maybe we both bickered, but I'd like to see how the mods feel about you using the PM issue to instigate flaming and crap disturbing.

Cheer

As far as Crosby being the same player, yes i think it is very possible, They took all the precautions to make sure the games best player is healthy, that i am positive about. He may be a little rusty for awhile but the "Kid" will be back soon to old form.

do you think he can be the same player?

You missed a very good third period. The Leafs had no legs & were tired in this game. Not surprising. This was their 3rd game in 4 nights. They played last night & arrived in Raleigh in the early hours of the morning. The Hurricanes didn't play last night, which was a bonus for them. The Leafs nearly came back, if not for the great goaltending of Cam Ward. Phil Kessel was once again the best player on the ice (along with Tim Connelly) and scored two goals. Ben Scrivens was nothing short of great. However, as you said, a loss is a loss.....the Leafs, who are without 7 regulars, will brush it off & on to the next game!

They are all growing up together, as one of the nhl's youngest teams, so your gonna have highs followed by lows like sat/sun's games. All they need to do is be in the hunt by new years and once somewhat healthy, these growing pains will be rewarded. So far they are one of the most exciting teams in the league to watch most nights, what with their speed and skill and some big hitting by Dion and a few others. Gonna be a great season and so far it is 1/4 over and they are close to the top, cant really ask for more from them at this point. They just need time to get used to each other with so many new faces from last yr. Good stuff and thanks for the recap brah :thumb:

What did the Leafs in last night was the fact they only won 30% of their faceoffs. When you're constantly being backed up in your own zone, you're not gonna win those games. Cody Franson was solid once again. Joe Colborne struggled & seems a step behind the rest of the team. Considering the fact that the Leafs are a team with a lot of speed, Colborne might not be a fit on that team as it stands. Either he spend more time on the farm or possibly get traded for a decent player or 1st or 2nd round pick. Colborne is quickly finding out that he's not playing among AHL-calibre players anymore. Nazem Kadri would be a better fit with the current team.

I decided to take a quick look at this thread and as a result I have just removed two posts and edited one. I will not bother to look any further but if I see any more trash talk or insults in this thread, ALL sports threads will be closed until the new year. There is a free for all thread. Use it.

Bruins vs Habs...B's totally outplayed, outshot, outhit, and out hustled! Luckily for them TT was in the cage and was impenetrable tonight. Back where they belong, atop the division!!

Yes indeed. I've always like Tim Thomas. Great story, great guy! I liked him even better after tonight's game after he shut-out the Habs. :D

Along with Eric Perrin and Martin St. Louis, Tim led the University of Vermont Catamounts to the last game of the Frozen Four in the school's best year ever.

Say it aint so? sTeve WHY schooled by Brian Burke??? Oh yes it is SO!

Most certainly! as in Florida tonight the many Leafs fans were heard chanting GO LEAFS GO all night long! 7-1 for the Burke led Leafs over the slumping sTeve why? led rays, i mean "look out, ahhhhhh... theres lightning!" ...... a beatdown of all beatdowns tonight folks, as the Leafs got very balanced scoring as the NHL's leading scorer, Phil Kessel had just one point (just, lol) also great to see the boys play their BEST game of the season thus far against a stanley cup favorite this season. The D was LARGE as 6'5 Cody Franson continues to impress (thanks once again to BB for that steal of a trade this past summer) and Dion and the boys stood strong in front of a rejuvenated "Monster" guarding the Leafs net! .... Great win and great lesson taught to a gm looking to gain experience in one mr sTeve why? by one of the leagues best GM's! :thumb:

Leafs gain sole possession of the northeast division and are now as of nov 22 tied for 2nd in most points in the entire NHL, just one point behind the top spot. Could i have asked for anything more? really? No i could not have, especially since the Leafs tonight played with the YOUNGEST team in all of the league. haters gonna hate, but that just makes it ALL the sweeter!

Just one ?'in......... where is gohabsgo? :eyebrows:

Iggy, you forgot to add that Ron Wilson totally outcoached Guy Boucher in this game. By keeping the Kessel line on the ice for nearly two entire periods, Wilson was able to keep Boucher's checking line on the ice (which was doing a terrible job, by the way). Boucher wanted to match his 4th line with the Kessel line. Well, that kept Tampa's top line of Lecavalier/St-Louis/Stamkos off the ice for a good part of the first two periods. When Boucher finally woke up & put his best line on the ice, the game was already in Toronto's favor by a comfortable margin.

Well done, Ron! Go Leafs Go!

Iggyramus does it again!

Mr. Iggyramus predicted last night prior to the Leafs/Bolts game that rookie Joe Colborne, a recent call-up by the team to cover for Mike Grabovski's loss, would score his first NHL goal. Guess what? Colborne, a former first-round pick obtained from Boston in the Kaberle trade last year, scored his first NHL goal on a brilliant pass by fellow rookie Matt Frattin.

Congratulations, Joe! And well done once again, Mr. Iggyramus!! :thumb:

Any predictions for the Leafs' next game? What about the Boston/Buffalo game tonight? What about the Habs/Canes game? Curious minds want to know....
