Additional information to what I wrote. Another reason to the surge in violent crimes is due to Justin Castro's policy called "Catch and Release Crime Policy". What that basically means is that it allows repeat violent offenders who are arrested for committing additional violent crimes to be released same day on bail. Police officers are saying themselves this is the reason why there is a surge in violent crimes. These violent offenders should be in jail not out on bail. Instead Justin Castro wants to go after legal gun owners and ban guns which is their way for self-defense but go easy on criminals. I know left-wing nuts will defend Justin Castro even though I am right.
