Here's one more example (the thousandth? millionth?) of how just plain stupid Trump is. He's been saying for the past few weeks that Biden is the worst candidate in history. If Trump wasn't such a moron he might realize how idiotic it is to say that. Why? Because if Trump WINS, it was a meaningless accomplishment since he only beat "the worst candidate in history." And if Trump LOSES, then he really looks like the jackass he is, because he LOST to "the worst candidate in history". But Trump is so remarkably stupid that he couldn't figure that out.

I believe the swine flu infected 60 million Americans. The big difference is that it was much less deadly than COVID-19.

If you read the excellent article you will see that there were several other big differences: The Obama Administration reacted quickly and took it seriously, even though they were also trying to undo the catastrophic economic debacle caused by the previous (Republican, Bush) administration.. They were hampered by interference from the Republicans and also from a private citizen named Donald Trump, who loved promoting conspiracy theories (especially racist ones) and stirring up shit. The Obama Administration actually listened to and trusted respected scientists, including some guy you might have heard of named Anthony Fauci. The Obama Administration learned a great deal from the swine flu issue and used that knowledge to intelligently prepare in advance for future major health crises. Before leaving office, the Obama Administration, seeking to help ALL Americans (not just Democrats), attempted to give the incoming Republican administration a head start to be prepared. Unfortunately, the head of that incoming administration believed more strongly in orange makeup than he did in science. The results are sadly obvious: almost a quarter of a million American deaths so far - many of which should have been avoided if the Trump gang had not totally botched things and consistently and perhaps criminally lied to the American people. A sad thought on what might have been: At the start of the year, the walking disaster known as Donald Trump became only the third American president ever to be impeached. Unfortunately he was not REMOVED from office as he should have been. The reason is that the corrupt Republican Party - with the sole exception of Mitt Romney, who acted with honor - chose to keep the dangerously incompetent liar in power.

It’s gonna be interesting to see how quick Cyrus Vance’s kid is gonna pounce on trumpy and fam after election should he lose. It’s also gonna be interesting to see him test the ability of a president to pardon himself. He will prob get silly with that pardon ability. Should he lose there will be a lot of changes I think. Not placing unqualified kids in senior advisor roles, pardon abilities of President, who knows what else, trump might not want the job in 2024
