The director of the FBI had strong words Wednesday for supporters of former President Donald Trump who have been using violent rhetoric in the wake of his agency's search of Trump's Mar-a-Lago home.

Christopher Wray, who was appointed as the agency's director in 2017 by Trump, called threats circulating online against federal agents and the Justice Department "deplorable and dangerous."

"I'm always concerned about threats to law enforcement," Wray said. "Violence against law enforcement is not the answer, no matter who you're upset with."

It has been easy to find the threats and a call to arms in those corners of the internet favored by right-wing extremists since Trump himself announced the search of his Florida home.
Reactions included the ubiquitous "Lock and load" and calls for federal agents and even U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland to be assassinated.

As could be expected, a man earing body armor and armed with an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle tried to breach the FBI building in Cincinnati.
Guess who motivated this terrorist act !

A warning for cuckoos calling for civil war or violent action against the FBI.

Standoff ends after armed man allegedly tried to break into Cincinnati FBI office

An armed man who allegedly tried to break into the FBI’s Cincinnati field office Thursday was killed by police after an hour long standoff, officials said.
Following a chase and a failed negotiation, the suspect was fatally shot by police after he allegedly raised a gun toward law enforcement officers, an Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesperson said during a press briefing.

The suspect was identified as Ricky Shiffer, 42. The suspect was allegedly armed with an AR15-style rifle and also brandished a nail gun during the alleged break-in attempt at the FBI field office in Cincinnati, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

More on this:

A Truth Social (Donald Dumb's social media) account bearing Shiffer's name referenced his attempt to storm an FBI office, and also encouraged others online to prepare for a revolutionary-type war, CNN has learned.

"Well, I thought I had a way through bullet proof glass, and I didn't," the user posted on Donald Dumb's social media site at 9:29 a.m.

Authorities say the attack took place at 9:15. "If you don't hear from me, it is true I tried attacking the F.B.I., and it'll mean either I was taken off the internet, the F.B.I. got me, or they sent the regular cops while."

Former President Donald Trump pleaded the Fifth Amendment at least 440 times on Wednesday to avoid answering questions in his four-hour deposition with New York Attorney General Letitia James’s office in lower Manhattan about business dealings at his real estate company, according to NBC News.

Only 440 times. ;)

It is possible that Trump will make moves to keep the Justice Department for releasing infos regarding the FBI raid.
He woudn't want the americans to know what kind of documents he brought to Mar-a-Lago.
Possibly documents on American nuclear weapons.
Did he intend to sell them ?
I wouldn't be surprised !

Damning new details on the timeline leading up to the FBI search of Trump’s Mar-A-Lago property.
The New York Times reports Trump was subpoenaed in the Spring, far ahead of execution of a legally ordered search warrant.
Attorney General Garland “personally approved” the search and called Trump’s bluff in a rare press conference.
Former Federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti joins MSNBC’s Ari Melber saying the DOJ gave Trump every chance to turn over documents, even treating Trump with “kid gloves.”

Very impressed with how Merrick Garland wields his power using intelligence & integrity. Monumental day in America watching Merrick Garland putting not only media, but also trump & senators in their place (not hearing any nonsense from anyone today after Mr. Garland has spoken). Impressive indeed.

The FBI reportedly recovered 11 sets of classified documents during its Monday raid of former President Donald Trump's Florida mansion, per materials reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Among the 11 sets were documents marked "top secret," as well as those meant to be available only in designated government facilities, the Journal notes.
The agents removed "around 20 boxes of items, binders of photos, a handwritten note, and the executive grant of clemency for [Trump] ally Roger Stone," the Journal writes, according to the inventory list.

The list also details how agents recovered four sets of top secret documents, three sets of secret documents, and three sets of confidential documents, per the Journal.
It additionally alludes to another set marked "top secret/SCI," which CNN notes is the highest level of classification.

Per the search warrant, the FBI requested access to "the 45 office," as well as any and all rooms in which "boxes or documents could be stored, including all structures or buildings on the estate." Private guest rooms were excluded from the search.

Though Trump's lawyers have argued that the former president declassified the material in question before leaving office, there are federal regulations involved in doing so, the Journal summarizes.

The FBI raid sparked an immediate firestorm, in which supporters of the former president have lambasted the agency for what they feel was a politically-motivated attack.

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Thursday that the Justice Department had filed a motion to unseal the search warrant in the case.

This article describes who can and how to declassify a document.
Very smart one who can predict what will happen to all this.
The law and the constitution never imagined such an ignorant, dishonest and bad faith president (Dumb).
You never know if he is in bad faith or simply stupid. A bit of both I suppose.

Extract:
One key point is that presidential declassification power does not continue once a president is out of office.
"While it is true that the president can classify and declassify at will, the same is obviously not true of a former president, who ceases to be commander in chief as soon as he leaves office," Aftergood said in an Aug. 11 interview.
Could Trump argue that he declassified certain documents in private, while president? That is not how the system is designed to work.
"Merely proclaiming a document or group of documents declassified and doing nothing more would not suffice," Bradley Moss, a Washington, D.C.-based lawyer who works on national security cases, told PolitiFact.
