Former Vice President Mike Pence suggested Wednesday he might not vote for Donald Trump if his ex-boss were to run for president in 2024. When Pence was questioned about the issue at a Georgetown University event, he gave a long pause. "Well, there might be somebody else I'd prefer more," he said.
Trump has not formally announced a presidential bid for 2024, but he has strongly hinted he might run. Pence is also considering a run, according to several of his confidants. Pence had a falling out with the former president after a pro-Trump mob attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump had repeatedly criticized Pence for refusing to use his ceremonial role in presiding over the electoral count to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 win.
Fired up by Trump's attacks, rioters chanted "Hang Mike Pence" as they rampaged through the Capitol wielding flagpoles and other weapons. Pence and congressional leaders had to be whisked to safety before resuming the certification once the building was secured.
CNBC’s Shep Smith reports that former President Trump had to sit down for a sworn deposition today in a defamation suit E. Jean Carroll filed against him.
She has accused Trump of raping her in the mid-1990s and is suing him for saying she was ‘totally lying.’
The January 6 committee has issued a subpoena for former President Trump to testify and produce records for their investigation into the Capitol riot. NBC's Ali Vitali reports from Capitol Hill.
The lying. treasonous scumbag will probably try to run out the clock to avoid appearing, just like his hypocritical golf buddy Graham is doing. And if the two pieces of trash ever do testify they'll most likely either lie their way through everything or plead the fifth hundreds of times as Orange Face did in an earlier proceeding. “If he runs, he runs,” Mr. Trump said of Mr. DeSantis to a handful of reporters traveling with him on his private plane — recently refurbished and put back into use — after a rally Monday night in Dayton, Ohio.
But Mr. Trump added, in remarks published on Tuesday by The Wall Street Journal, “If he did run, I will tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering. I know more about him than anybody other than perhaps his wife, who is really running his campaign.”
