just read in the beginning of that double-handle thread, that the behavior on merb has lately degenerated.

that's sad, because this place is not only where we can learn where you can get the best and most pleasant deal, but also your greatest defense against being ripped off in a industry that's full of deceits and frauds. all merbies here, we should develop a sense of solidarity, always respect each other, be honest and do not smear anyone, but only complain justifiably. know that life will be much harder for everyone because of selfish behavior that breaks solidarity.

I agree totally. Although I find TERB to have far more solidarity and united commonality among members, MERB is far from that. However the posts on MERB are for more serious and directed at the hobby, where as on TERB you get a whole array of crap to serious stuff. But the rule of thumb is to be honest and maintain board integrity and complain when it warrants it.

What do you mean by solidarity? Do you mean more respect and less flaming among fellow members? I'm guessing that on any board it's hard to control everyone, especially those intent on repeatedly coming back under the guise of another handle.. .

Since TERB is so much bigger then MERB, one needs to establish credibility first among members. When this is achieved, by posting revies and valuable hobbying information, then there is definately alot of respect between hobbyists. There is a large amount of flamming when it comes to newbies but that is because you get such a large number of people that are there for the wrong reasons. The most useless of members are those that lurk only and don't contribute in any way. Contribution of course comes in many ways as well. But I know how frustrating it is when people come under different handles posting bullshit and wasting bandwidth.
