TOFTT: Took One for the Team, Now in my life experiences this meant:

Leaning into a pitch,to get a free walk, you TOFTT.
When you are playing a team sport where doubles are involved, you play with the weaker player, you TOFTT.
When you are the weaker player and you play the other teams strongest player, you TOFTT.
When you jump on a live grenade, you TOFTT.

You get the point, now when i see a title with TOFTT along with the lady and agency name, my first thoughts are that he had a bad time, and then i read that he had a great time, i am thinking why did he TOFTT, and this stays in the title for almost ever.

If he actually did have a bad time but everyone else had a great time, then he really didn't TOFTT.

Ok, he goes to a BP ad rendezvous and she is no where near the description in the ad, the service was really bad and a total waste of money and time, then great its a TOFTT situation, but if you have a great time, you had a great time.

Ok, am i just not getting the TOFTT concept or am i just so high right now that i am over thinking it. lol.

As applied on MERB, TOFTT usually means putting one's cash on the line for his MERB "teammates" by seeing an unreviewed lady for better or worse and then being able to share the experience via review. What is being put on the line is not stats as in sports, or getting one's hand blown off by grabbing the live grenade to protect others on a military team, but cash.

In essence, TOFTT is a bet. You are betting you will find a gem and be the next Christopher Columbus, but more often than not, you are the captain of the ship that sank - and not Columbus.

From a pure definition POV, I would agree with EB.

But I do chuckle when I see "TOFTT" associated with agencies like Vogue, XO and Euphoria. Even tho i haven't partaken from them, I've seen nothing but positive reviews from these agencies. Personally, I do tend to associate TOFTT more with BP, 123, etc.

To be fair i did some TOFTT with good well known agencies in the past and i did had some very ordinary meetings. As much as those owners care for there customers and will deal with bad situations etc, they are not medium, they can't know for sure if a woman will be suited for the job or not. All they can do is gauge her personality by a friendly meeting and obviously pick the pretty ones. Even if they "test" her (wink wink) she can be very good trying to impress the owner, but it can be a totally different thing when she meet that hairy fat old man... I mean i met some of the agency owners in MTL and of the ones i met most of the them where actually rather young (40 and down) good looking slim to muscular dudes...

So there is no way to know for sure, even if the owner is quick to rectify a situation with an SP that does not do the job properly, either by talking to her or firing her, most likely it mean at least 3-4 guys will have a bad time, no owners would fire a pretty SP because of one complaint, unless it was something very crazy.

So yeah TOFTT can happen even in well known agencies, altough its much more risky to do the gamble outside of those...

The good agencies fire the duds before you get a chance to see them. The TOFTT is done by a trusted regular or regulars who "test drive" the debutante and give feedback to the owner with no review ever getting posted. If the girl does not pass the test drive she could be quietly let go before ever getting formally reviewed.

The bad agencies are the ones who will leave a girl on despite some bad early feedback, and if no review gets posted it can be dicy if you are the first one.

I remember many years ago seeing a beautiful Lebanese girl who worked at one of the top agencies. The owner is one of the best in the biz. She had gone to the agency with her friend and they told the owner they wanted to work together for that agency. The owner accepted the beautiful Lebanese girl, but told her friend he did not think she was attractive enough to work in the business. The Lebanese girl told me this rejection shocked and upset the girl and sent her into a depression. The Lebanese girl admitted to me that the friend was not as attractive as she was but felt she was attractive enough. The agency owner felt otherwise - he told her he didn't feel she would get enough bookings. Rejected her on looks.

You have to have the balls to make decisions like this, and most of the good Montreal agency owners have them (Jessie excluded of course, LOL, as she would have a vagina).

I agree with you. There's no such thing as "too ugly to be an escort". Not a good fit for the agency, maybe, but for the job itself... There's space for any type of body/face.

I remember when I started, I first contacted an agency, and after talking for a while I sent my pic and was told "Forget it you're not an escort type of girl". I decided to go independent because I thought every other agency would say the same. Joke's on him, look at me now.

I still laugh about the time I was in the corridor of the metro and there was a young guy ,about 20, who was holding a sign saying '' too honest to steal,too ugly to be a whore''.
he was begging instead ,I was on my way to a meeting and I could not help myself, I told him ''no, you're not too ugly...''

Oh true, didn't tough about this but your right, probably happen a lot. In a way i still think these guys are lucky, i mean they have the money to see girls very regulary so its obviously not a problem for them to "waste" cash if it turn out not so great... and they get to see so much different ladies ...

Good or bad is all part of the adventure, the thrill of the chase.
The bad ones make you appreciate the good ones more.
Do due diligence, check image searches and walk away if it is a bait and switch.
This one might not be so great but there are always others.

Nothing in life is guaranteed.

Lol dude maybe if you see 10 a month and still have plenty of cash for other stuff. When you save your cash and restrain yourself on other stuff and still only manage to see one every 2-3 months, sorry but a bad experience is EXTREMELY frustrating...

It's the difference between misplacing $20 or $200. No one wants to lose money but damage from losing $20 is definitely easier to swallow. I'm sure TOFTT wouldn't exist as a concept if seeing all those beautiful ladies only costs in low double digits.

Well yeah but just as much as a 2000$ fine for a hockey player is seen as spare change for them and we find it ridiculous when it happen for a dangerous offense, its the same thing in this hobby. Im sure a lot of guys consider 200$ to be spare change or lets say it does not bother them too much to loose it. For them its probably worh the trill of "toftt" . Its really a matter of how much you have. Just as much as loosing 5$ for me is not that much of a deal, but would be for an homeless person...

It is an operational expense and should be included in your overall budget.

Any manufacturer will have allowance for wastage or shrinkage.

Expecting to never have a bad session, or getting upset about one, is unrealistic. Do this enough and it will happen.
I budget for ten percent failure, as part of my costs.
Even the best ladies can have an off day. You never know if the guy before you was a total asshole, or hurt her, or whatever.
These are human beings, not robots.

True Westwoody. It takes a bit of experience to learn how to deal with the situation when you enter the 10%...

I happened to me, I would say twice. Both time I turn the session into a long massage to the girl.

You know what, girls talk to their friends in the biz. And when you see back that girl, or one of her friend and they recognize you are the dude that took good care, you will then have a good time

Just my opinion but members like UB take one for the team with his finds in ann123 or humpchies, meeting a new girl at the popular agencies is not really a risk which TOFTT should be.
