Trying to distort history? Read up. Good thing not everyone was pro-authoritarian and submissive to the government like you otherwise many countries would still be under colonial rule. To the contrary, the American Revolution was fought by armed citizens who were willing to fight to have freedom. The 13 colonies resisted. See why governments wants their citizens disarmed especially Liberal/Communist governments? To keep them under control.

P.S.: If the government gets to be armed, then citizens also have the right to be armed. Everyone has the right to defend themselves and also to be free from tyranny.

Yeah ! Like defending themselves from americans partipating to a 4th July parade at Highland Park today !

I don't agree. Reminds me of an inflatable neighbor.
Everyone has the right to defend themselves.
In this way you give the right to everyone to have weapons, in short also to the mentally affected people, and they will use their weapons.

Of course you do not, you support authoritarianism.

This one makes me laugh. If you cannot trust citizens with guns how can you trust the government with guns? All those politicians, army, and police? Oh right, they are part of the government and are a superior race, they can do no wrong and none are ever mentally affected. See we got a clown as a prime minister, what he is doing qualifies as mentally affected. Reread what you wrote and think about what you said. See if it even makes any sense.

Seems like Bidet’s new gun enforcement law is working.
This will never end in the US, there are so many guns already out there that even if they manage to pass some actually tough gun laws ( not like the meaningless one recently) it still won’t do much.
Decades of almost zero gun control has created this it will require much tougher controls and generations before this will improve even slightly, the current generation are so divided that nothing will change.
Never seen a nation so in love with guns and so reluctant to part with them, I have heard all the arguments for having guns in the hands of private citizens and don’t agree with any of it, guns do nothing else except kill people.

^^^^^^ I do agree 100% with your post. Of course you tried to attack Biden administration, but I'm sure you know USA is deeply sick on its attitude toward arms.
ARMS are for working and hugging, not killing. Of course, republicans will try to put it on mental health issue, but what should be done when there are so many disturbed people that it lead to election of the 45th? It will be very long before those issues, mental health and 2nd amendment could be corrected.

You're wrong about guns doing nothing else expect killing people at least not in every countries.
They are used by Native Canadians for feeding their families and some other Canadians too.
They are used a lot for Clay Targets shooting in many countries in the world.
As was written here, cars, light and and heavy trucks are used as well as knifes, heavy sticks, etc.
In Canada, possession and use of firearms are strongly regulated.

Hand guns and assault rifles in particular, nobody is talking about native Americans hunting for food or single shot clay pigeon target shooting.
Lunatics and terrorists won’t go hunting on Native reservations or go target shooting.
Why do you insist on playing these little games.
You cannot kill nearly as many with knifes heavy sticks and cars and you can pretty much run and escape most of these try out running an assault rifle.
Yes in Canada guns are strongly regulated and that is why we don’t have anywhere near the gun violence of the US even per capita.

Biden's new law is better than nothing.

You have to be in bad faith to think to say that about Biden.

Do you think the former president would have done better? the answer is no, I would say that the situation would be much worse.
No it is not better than nothing, because it is nothing.
Why would somebody be in bad faith because they disagree with Bidet who is an incompetent senile old fool.
He has done basically fuck all to curb gun violence what they passed recently is a total joke.
No the former President didn’t do any better on gun control and gun violence that is just it, there are millions of guns out there and it will take the strictest of laws and generations before you may see some kind of improvement. This situation has been building for decades all previous governments along with Americans love of guns is responsible for this
You should perhaps actually look at things with an open mind instead of if Bidet did it or said it it is great and if Trump did it it is evil.
Saying it would be much worse is based on what, your intuition, your fortune telling capabilities, if that is the case perhaps you can buy a winning lottery ticket.

It's less than nothing. When you make a big song and dance about giving someone something when you are giving them a packaged nothing, i.e., nothing neatly packaged, gift wrapped with a ribbon tied in a bow, but just air inside, it's less than nothing, as the recipient feels the harsh reality of being doused with snake oil. You give the package to the recipients, knowing they are expecting something inside. But when it is opened and there is nothing inside, it is less than nothing when something inside was caused to be expected.

If you follow that argument, do you have the right to the same weapons as the government ?

Where can I buy a bazooka ? Can I maybe buy an intercontinental ballistic missile ?

There is no easy answer to the gun violence in the US.
Unless they ban hand guns and assault rifles and institute a buy back program nothing will ever change.
Even by doing that there are millions of these weapons already out there and with Americans infatuation with guns and their so called right to bear arms it will take generations of people to have even the slightest improvement.
All this talk about the mentally disturbed being the ones doing this, yeah it doesn’t take a genius to figure that anyone killing random innocent people is nuts but being able to diagnose this by qualified doctors and applying laws to prevent them from acquiring weapons is almost impossible.

This is now happening on a weekly basis when will prayers and hope not be enough for these politicians.
Here there are debates that cars, knives, sticks can also kill, this is the exact BS being used by lobby groups to keep on selling guns, the other argument is that criminals will always be able to obtain guns. Both of these are just excuses to do nothing.
It is not guns that kill but people is the other constant, the answer to that is yes it is people WITH GUNS.

You're right, in USA guns are almost 100% responsible for deaths.
I referred to cars or trucks because they were used in Nice France (87 deaths) and in Toronto (10 deaths) and a few others plsces in Europe.

Update:

A gunman on a rooftop opened fire on an Independence Day parade in suburban Chicago on Monday killing at least six people and wounding at least 30.

Yet Illinois has tough laws, but unfortunately in the neighboring state (Indiana), there are no gun control laws.
