What helps me before a meeting ? I will go and state the obvious, one that is overlooked at times . SLEEP... I will try my best to get some sleep as it is the one thing that makes all the difference for me . I try and make an effort to not see anyone the day before a meeting . Although even if I do I’m still good to go ,just as long as I’ve gotten some good rest in between . But if my body is deprived of sleep
that’s when I tend to struggle in meetings. In my younger years I did get away with it , but nowadays my body can’t recover like it used to do .
Feeling fresh and rested almost guarantees that I’ll be able to finish . When I’m really tired it can be a problem, that’s how much it affects me . Of course this means less stress and frustration for me and the SP . More stamina,I’m a better listener, I’m more attentive and intuned to my partner, its easier, more enjoyable and everything tends to flow more naturally. It also means that I’ll have the energy and patience to do things that I would not normally do if I was tired . For instance I’ll make sure when I go out to eat to pick up something for the lady aswell ( something that I almost always do with civilians ) . It could be some chocolate or a snack or even a meal , a bottle of wine , it all depends on the lady I’m seeing . In the end it doesn’t really matter what it is , as long as you thought of them it’s always appreciated and I enjoy seeing them somewhat happy and that in itself enhances the meeting for her and me .
