Yes, Hooters is over rated but I still like to hang out at Hooters in Santa Monica, California, the girls just make me smile..... :)

I am tempted to purchase a Hooters for Montreal but I agree with the posts that maybe it will be "no big deal" in Montreal with all of the beautiful girls everywhere.....

BL,

I have relatives in L.A. I've been to that Santa Monica Hooters. Wow! The girls were model material, not girl next door types.

Gatineau

They opened a Hooters in Gatineau sometime back. It flopped within a few months. I imagine it's difficult to attract a crowd to an American-themed restaurant where the food is nothing to write home about, the beer over priced and the servers nothing special. You can get so-so food, overpriced beer and attractive naked servers down the street at Pigales or Taboo. The Hooters on St. Laurent Blvd. also flooped. There was alot of excitement and fanfare when they all first opened. I think the only ones still open are on Richmond Road in Bells corners - the hi-tech lunch crowd likely keeps it afloat and the one in the Byward Market - a tourist attraction.
It would be a poor decision to invest in a Hooters in Montreal, unless you need the tax write-off.
Just my 2¢

the one on st laurant sucked big time because of the food which was horrible, i ate there once and i almost puked and i said never again, the thinking must have been that just the name hooters and and girls in shorts and t-shirts would be enough to sell but obviously it was not.

Hey guys,

The American Hooters restaurants specialize in and serve excellent spicy fried chicken wings which is what they are known for. There is one in Connecticut that I have eaten at several times. They serve excellent fried spicy chicken wings with 7 different levels of spiciness, served with blue cheese sauce and several bottles of extra hot sauce are on every table in the restaurant. They also make a very good barbecued pulled pork sandwich. I haven't eaten there lately because I am on a diet, but in this area if you are into beer and chicken wings and want to watch a football or baseball game it's the place to go. I am sorry to hear that the Gatineau Hooters served such lousy food, but the one in Connecticut is serving excellent food, again, if you are into fried spicy chicken wings with blue cheese sauce.

The word on Crescent street is that Hooters will be taking over the Hard Rock Cafe.

Can anyone confirm this?

I've gone 3 times to Hooters, twice in vancouver, and once on Taschereault blvd. Honestly, they really have to up the quality of their menu, because frankly their food sucked. Yes I know the food is not the main reason that guys drop by this place. But now that the novelty of seeing a few pretty, very busty girls (yet the girls in Brossard the one time I went were not THAT busty!) in tight white T-shirts serving you your meals has been fulfilled, getting served 5th-rate Cage aux Sports food easily prevents my repeat business.
I remember a few years ago (early 2000's) there was a Hooter's-type restaurant on DeMaisonneuve near St-Hubert that was opened by a former Habs player (Lambert, if my memory doesn't fail me), with hot busty waitresses in tight white T-shirts, but the food was actually decent. Alas, this place closed down after a couple of years.

The was a place on Crescent that tried to copy Hooters a year or two ago. It was a couple of doors up from where the Hard Rock stood (heading uphill towards Newtown). It was called TWINS and had girls in shorts with tight lowcut t-shirts. The logo on the sign had the W in TWINS was shaped like a pair or boobs. Don't know how long it lasted but it wasn't very long. On my next trip up, it was closed.

Hooters in MTL what's the point? It's like in Las Vegas there is a Hooters hotel and casino at the south end of the Strip. It is horrible don't waste you time going there. Both the hotel and the casino are trashy. They can't get any good looking girls to work there because its Vegas and the good looking women can work at other places and make more $$$.

Nobody goes to Hooters for the good food because there isn't any.

Many years ago there was a Hooters downstairs from Alfie's strip club on Decarie. I don't know if it was a real one or a copy but when the building burned down it was kind of irrelevant. Haven't been to the Hooters in Brossard yet but if the food is worse than the Cage, which I consider to be pretty poor and overpriced in general, I guess I'll strike that one off the list of places to try.

I dont remember ever seeing TWINS but I do recall another Hooters knockoff that didnt last long either, it was called Booty's with the same exact concept.

It was above Sharky's pool hall on l'acadie across the marche centrale.

I went there a few times. Did anyone else have the chance to check it out before it also met its demise?

When strip clubs are empty of clients, I am surprised that places like hooters can even survive. What can be seen at hooters are all over the street these days.

hooters....

As gay as this may sound, I actually go to hooters for the buffalo wings and curly fries. The nice ass and tits are just an extra. I think its way better than the cage aux sports or any other sports spot. Its the dripping greesy grissle on that spicy wang that turns me on!!

I get sucked into going to a Hooters about once every 3 or 4 years, usually in a group, and always regret it. Lousy food, average to poor service, cheap formula atmosphere etc. I've been to ones in Ottawa , Troronto, Atlanta and Florida and they have all been the same. I think the short shorts and nylons look silly. Like something girls who were the product of too much in-breeding in Kentucky would wear. There are way better looking women routinely working at places such as the lounge in the Moxies chain in significantly hotter outfits with better food. I say we make Canada a Hooters-free zone ! :D
