Where are your grocery stores?

I like to get stuff for my hotel room like water, juice, snacks, etc., and I'm not paying the overinflated prices from the hotel mini-bar or gift shop.

Last time in Montreal, the only place I could find supplies downtown was UniPrix, which was kind of expensive and didn't have a very good selection.

Where are the big suburban grocery stores in town? Are there any that are open 24 hours or late night? I don't usually rent a car, so if there's one near a Metro station, that'd be perfect.

There is a terrific IGA on the lower level of Complex Desjardins, which has everything you may need including wine and chocolates not to mention all groceries. If you are staying at the Hyatt, it doesn't get any better. But it is a short walk from most of the downtown and directly across the street from the Place des Arts Metro station.

As a lawyer you should know better!
Get your wine at regular SAQ outlet and for chocolate, I will be back...it's in the Eaton Center...cannot remember the name!
For your food, there is Loblaws on St-Jacques...or at the top of Avenue du Parc, but you need a car!
Also, nice grocery store at the corner of Greene and de Maisonneuve! (Atwater subway)

When downtown, the only place I'm ever at, I go to the Provigo that's about two blocks east of the 4 points on Sherbrooke. You make a left on some street, you see a video store, and it's next to it.. on the other side of it is a gas station...

There's also an IGA near chinatown, I believe on St. Urbain...
