Had it been a Toronto goalie, Janssen would have passed right through his legs :)
On a more serious note, I don't think there should have been a penalty on Janssen but it was nice to see Price showing at least a little emotion for a change.

After the past few games, i'm actually starting to think that Toskala & Gustavson are superior to Price & Halak. Price sucks & he's giving away one or two bad goals every game!!

As for Price, i have to hand it to him....this is the most intense i've seen him in three years!! Heck, he was even more intense than fucking Georges Laracque ever has been since this bum has joined the team!!

By the way, how can anyone enjoy this crappy, boring Jacques Martin hockey? Yes, the Leafs lose their share of the games....but at least, they shoot 30-50 times a game & a large majority of their games are exciting!! Almost every Habs game i've seen this season has caused me to put away my Ambien.

look at the guy at the 1:17 mark of that video, have you ever seen a pharmacy clerk so puzzled before in your life as to why he was at the bell centre and not at the local Jean Coutu ???????????????????? talk about Priceless! :)
Hillarious stuff!!! I've replayed it 7 or 8 times & Martin's look absolutely cracks me up!!!! He looks like some poor fool who just got tele-transported to the Bell Center & wonders what the hell he's doing there!! He has the same look that Sam Beckett has in Quantum Leap whenever he's sent to another time, another place!! LOL!!!! I have to go watch it again!!! :D

p.s. What's the deal with Jacques Martin's ears? I swear the guy could audition to be in the next Star Trek movie!

im sure he'd rather go to TO than the scabs, besides thanks to gainey, you will NEVER be able to afford him anyways...,Gainey can offer him one million a year tho ! but i think Kovalchuk would pass, dont you ?
will never happen, besides Kovalchuk wants to go to a contender not the outhouse in Toronto

Laracque cut by the Habs: one of the most classless moves ever by the Habs organization

Georges Laraque will not play another game with the Montreal Canadiens.

General manager Bob Gainey contacted him Thursday morning and told him that head coach Jacques Martin didn't had any confidence in him anymore and the team believes they can win without the enforcer in the lineup. The club will pay his salary for the rest of the season and will buy out the rest of his contract at the end of the 2009-10 campaign.

Laraque, who told TSN he was on his way to practice in the morning when he received the call to meet with Gainey, insists he's been a good team player and said there were no issues with the team or Martin, whom he believed was behind the decision.

"Jacques Martin doesn't like me and doesn't believe in toughness," Laraque told TSN.

Laraque added that Martin never shared any concerns directly with him and is furious with the Canadiens' approach based on the emotional issues he's dealing with following the devastating earthquake in Haiti and the impact this disaster has had on both him and his family.

"To do this in the midst of all I'm dealing with in Haiti, the timing is awful," Laraque said angrily.

Laraque followed up the initial conversation after cooling down in an effort to put his frustration into context.

"I was very emotional and I'm very hurt by this decision. I'm a proud guy and I may have let my emotions get the better of me," Laraque told TSN.

"Needless to say, I'm very disappointed."

Laraque, a Montreal native, signed a three-year, $4.5 million contract in July of 2008 and has one year remaining on his deal.

A lingering back injury limited him to just 61 games with the Canadiens over the last two seasons, as he tallied just five points and 89 penalty minutes. Laraque scored his first and only goal with the Canadiens last week in a game against the Dallas Stars.

At the Habs practice this morning

-Carey Price was a no-show
-Mike Cammalleri got into a fight with Maxim Lapierre while sitting on the bench area
-Glen Metroprolit nearly came to blows with Travis Moen during scrimmage
-Mike Cammalleri nearly came to blows with Travis Moen during scrimmage

When the Habs acquired Mike Cammalleri during the off-season, one of my NHL insiders told me that the Habs would eventually regret that acquisition since Cammalleri had been a cancer in the dressing rooms of his previous teams, even though he was all smiles & charismatic when the cameras would be rolling. That same person repeated the same thing to me two weeks ago. Now i'm starting to wonder if he's not correct, since Cammalleri also got into near fisticuffs with a teammate earlier in the season. Maybe that's the reason why he hasn't been given the 'C'. Personally, i would have loved to have Mike Cammalleri with the Leafs, who were runners-up in his acquisition. However, not at $6 million per season.

Here it is, my friend. Please tell me after you've seen it why Mtl got the powerplay after the incident? Even the Mtl announcers were surprised.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEQzxQDCE6I

The reason for the Montreal powerplay was that Conklin was given a minor penalty for leaving the crease when he went down ice. The other penalties offset with Janssen and Hamrlik each getting 2min for roughing.

Yeah, i found that out late last night. But tell me...why the hell did Janssen get a penalty? Why didn't Price get a penalty? Was Kerry Fraser refreeing last night?

p.s. In other Habs news, hockey great Jean Beliveau was admitted at a hospital this morning after suffering a stroke (CVA). I sincerely wish this classy gentleman the very best & a quick recovery.

No idea, if anyone, Price deserved the penalty more than the others. Yes, Fraser could be the worst ref in the NHL, followed closely by the ref that officiated the game I went to in Boston on Monday, his ref # is 4 and it's either Dan O'Rourke or Wes McCauley, he was f'n brutal!!!

I actually find that Kerry Fraser is one of the best referees in the league. However, when it comes to games involving the Habs, he's shown to have a very strong bias in favor of the Habs for nearly 2 decades. Every close or controversial call in games he's the referree goes in favor of the Habs!

hmmmmmmmmmm,

now who is gonna be the enforcer? Maybe Maxim Lapierre and his 8 points and -12 in 51 games would get the job done... he sure isnt much of a real hockey player so why not make him the enforcer now? oh thats right, all he does is run his mouth and when challenged, backs down, as Pierre Mcguire pointed out earlier this season... oh well scabs fans, i guess the lil guys are gonna get beaten down the rest of the season with no big brother to stand up for them.... hey, lol... i didnt mean it that way but Laraque really was their big "Brother"

Seriously tho, big George was a good guy it seems, when i was at the draft last summer in Montreal, as i was leaving some girl was all giddy about just getting his autograph, seems he was at a resto near the bell centre and was signing for the fans... not a bad thing to do in the middle of summer on your off season... he deserves better than the Scabs did to him.... maybe burke will pick him up to play the rest of the games against the scabs,... look out smurfs! hehehe

I hope you've saved the posts when i said Jacques Martin would bring his boring brand of hockey to the Habs & he'd been a bust for most of his career, that Georges Laracque would be a major bust for the Habs after he signed, that Andrei Markov's return from injury would't improve the team like Habs fans seemed to believe, that the Scott Gomez trade would be a terrible failure, etc. Want more?

That was the big question today on the Mtl airwaves...."who will protect the smurfs?" Some of the media members joked that maybe it could be Hal "Lady Byng" Gill, etc. As for anyone picking him up, it won't happen since Gainey gave him a "no movement" clause in his contract when he signed him a year ago. That's also why he wasn't put on waivers. So Big Georges is being paid his full salary to stay at home & it's already been decided that they'll buy out his contract once the season is over. He'll still be in the books for the rest of this season, and next season. Unbelievable!

i would of got reds,

Hilarious. Your cheap seats now conveniently become reds - nice try but a little late. You've been exposed (by G1G and myself) as a fraud who can’t back up anything you post - most of which is incoherent blather to begin with.

btw, it's "I would have"

Here, maybe this will be of some help to you!
