Let's have a look at Burke's acquisitions:
Komisarek: ranked 237th among all D-men
Beauchemin: ranked 239th among all D-men
Gustavsson: ranked 36th (out of 45) among all goalies
Wallin: 0 goals and a -7 in 35 games
Exelby: 0 goals and a -4 in 31 games
Kessel: 1 meaningful goal in his last 15 games?

Of course you are correct GHG but sadly our two leaflovers don't deal in facts, so your excellent arguments are wasted on them. Since their team is so incredibly bad, their only comfort lies in slamming other teams. Since they have no facts on their side, they resort to childish insults, deletion of posts and threads, veiled intimidation, and outright lies in their laughable attempts to defend their beloved leafs. The rest of the world sees their farcical behavior for what it is, but our two leaflovers will never admit the truth - sad, but a fact of life.
Burke hasn't even been there a year. Gainey's been there for what? Five or six seasons? More? The guy has destroyed the team!!!! Not only has he destroyed the team, he's destroyed the farm system. Trading McDonaugh & Valentenko with Higgins in that Gomez trade was a potential disaster. In the immortal words of Nancy Kerrigan, why? Why? Why? Let's see in 4-5 years how Burke has progressed as the Leafs GM. Now let's see how easy it will be for Boring Bob to find work as GM once he gets fired (of course, they'll say he resigned) from the job once this disastrous season comes to an end. Mark my words!

so you think the job gainey was hired to do and what he said he could do has been done huh? funny, i didnt hear of a parade in downtown montreal in the last 6 years, o wait i apologise, there was, the Alouettes showed up Les Scabitants as to how a parade is done ,..... Burke has inherited (like i already told you) a ton of bad decisions made by the previous 2 gms, it takes time to undo all the bad that was done...

Not talking about Gainey here,but the overrated ''Sam Pollock wannabe'' Burke.And so far his record in To is pathetic,numbers don't lie.As for Gainey,I agree he's pathetic too,but at least his team is ahead of Burke's...
And he got Camalleri,Gionta and Bergeron without whom the Habs would probaly be hanging with the Laghs near the bottom of the conference...with sub-500 record.
Cosmo, seriously, do you not understand what is being discussed here? re read what i said, its plain and simple,.... when dealing with a salary cap, without alot of luck, no GM in his first yr is gonna be a cup contender when he inherits a team that didnt make the playoffs the year before, or more... cmon man, get real here.... takes time, and Burke is doing the best he can with the mess he was left with,... no one makes perfect free agent signings with every new guy,... but he's done alot to build for the future unlike what the previous 2 gms were doing, meanwhile Gainey is digressing, and like previously stated, he is still the GM , ONLY because of his past history as a player...... living in the past will not win you many games, let alone a Stanley Cup

MONTREAL -- Andy McDonald scored 3:19 into overtime to give the St. Louis Blues a 4-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night.
McDonald scored unassisted as he beat Carey Price with a wrist shot into the top left corner after St. Louis blew a 3-1 lead in the third period.
Scott Gomez tied it for the Canadiens with only 32.9 seconds remaining in regulation. Benoit Pouliot scored his second goal of the game midway through the third as Montreal rallied to earn a point after falling behind 2-0 just 3:35 in.
David Perron and Paul Kariya scored 38 seconds apart in the first and Alex Steen added St. Louis' third goal late in the opening period to give the Blues the 3-1 lead.
(Can you believe that Gainey drafted Max Pacioretty ahead of David Perron? Was he on acid that day?)
p.s. After watching Carey Price tonight, i'm starting to think that Vesa Toskala isn't as bad as i first thought.
