Burkie would of never lowered himself to take over a creme puff job in the first place lol.... but hey, it is "steve y's" first job as a gm so why not let a rookie break in with a easy first job? Like i said, "steve y" is smart for taking that job, and i said kudos for him a few times now. Maybe one day he will step up and take a real job to see what he is made of. But something tells me he will eventually take over the red wings when holland retires and i am sure they will be a playoff team when "steve y" gets the keys to the team from ken, thus proving little to nothing.

I would give "steve y" a little more credit if he would of made major player changes but he didnt, nor did he have to. ...."creme puff"

If Burkie had taken over the Lightning he probably would have: 1) traded his entire roster for an Invisible Man, and 2) installed his best buddy Ron Wilson as coach. Then maybe we'd be seeing TB losing its games 7-0 and sitting near the basement in the standings. After all, in Toronto Burkie took a 21st place team and turned it into a 29th place team whereas in TBay Stevie took a 24th place team and turned it into a legitimate contender.

And I would give Burkie a little more credit if he had made the Leafs better instead of worse.

Why thank you my brother :).... Let me ask you a question and give me a real answer minus your usual sarcasm, if you are indeed capable of that.

What do you think about the way they are doing the Allstar game this year? Team Staal vs. Team Lidstrom and the fans voting and all?
You are truly remarkable.

Fans voting is silly. Having future first-ballot Hall-of-Famer Lidstrom as a Captain is obviously an excellent move (even though he was suspended in the past for refusing to participate - another joke by the NHL) and Team Staal also makes sense but let's face it: All Star games have been a joke for many years. The best part is the skills competition (it doesn't mean much either and several of the events are stupid but the players seem to enjoy it and at least it's a change) and only a few parts of that.

Speaking of the All Star game, I hope you`re ready to pay me the first part of our bet (although I`m not holding my breath ... )

https://merb.cc/vbulletin/showthrea...-hockey-thread&p=467901&viewfull=1#post467901

The Bets 4/5/10
Bet#1

Whomever has more points in the 2010/2011 season by the Allstar Break, between the Leafs (me, Lgna) and Habs (you, Gohabsgo), the loser must buy 2 seats anywhere in the reds for the game of the winners choosing sometime in the 2nd half of the season. (non playoff, and winner must give a few weeks notice in order to find tickets) (if tied, bet rolls over to the 2nd bet for either same amount in gift cards or tickets the following season) AGREED???

Bet#2

Whomever has more points in the 2010/2011 season by Seasons End, between the Leafs (me) and Habs (you), the loser must buy whatever amount the first bet was worth (whatever was ACTUAL DOLLAR amount paid for the tics in bet#1, not to exceed say $350 total?, if somehow you or i got free/discounted tics then it goes on the face value of the tics combined) in gift cards of winners choosing? AGREED??? if by season end we are tied with same amount of points, whomever won the season series wins, and if for some reason the season series is tied 3 games apiece,, whomever has the biggest goal differential will be declared the winner, AGREED???

put your money where your mouth is, and sign on the dotted line

..............................................................

if theres anything you see needs changing let me know, and nice doing business with you

PS. Both ghg and myself agreed in a pm that we both will give our word as to pay up in full instead of having a 3rd party hold the $.

Nice try, but dont be a weasel, it is too bad you never agreed to the bet publically as i asked you to in a pm which you agreed you would to make the bet official, heck, you never even agreed to the bet in a post in that thread!!. I dont chase someone to take a bet buddy, you either take it or dont and now that you would of won part one, you think you will take the bet now? ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry, it does not work that way, nice try tho, and ty for not agreeing to it, you saved me some nice change!

Dude, seriously, dont be a weasel, that is horrible gambling etiquette and you should be ashamed of yourself. I dont bet with people who play games. In the real world, gamblers would blacklist you, or worse depending on who you gambled with or tried to collect when you never agreed to a bet in the first place, me, i just wont ever bet with you or attempt to again.

Post 512, and Post 515...(key words, if you agree????? read em, i was still waiting for your answer... something i never got, again, TY!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Speaking of the All Star game, I hope you`re ready to pay me the first part of our bet (although I`m not holding my breath ... )

I agree with you on all counts. What i'd do to make the all-star game more relevant (and interesting, if it's possible) would be to hold it as the Winter Classic game. It's currently unfair to both teams that the Winter Classic game counts in the standings, considering it's nothing but a marketing ploy by the league & the game is often played with questionable ice conditions, which more often than not come into play & decide the final outcome of a game.

Even though everyone already knows you’re a poser, I want all posters on MERB to see this as a warning to never, ever make a bet with a complete fraud like you

EDIT: Private Messages are just that: PRIVATE. It is a serious breech of MERB rules to post them on the board. You have been warned so many times to behave in the hockey threads that I have lost count as well as patience. No more warnings.

The posted PMs have been edited from this post. The cost of posting them will be posted in the suspended members thread.

Why don't you just go & get lost? You're constantly looking for trouble. Merb would be better off without people like you. You bring absolutely nothing positive or constructive to the board. You're a nuisance. You keep getting suspended over & over, the mods hoping you'd come back & appreciate the privilege of being a member of this board. Yet, you keep misbehaving & dragging people into your silly games. You're an embarrassment to Merb!

Interesting comment from a poster who doesn’t have the guts to stand behind anything you write – instead you delete said comments when it becomes obvious your posts are complete B.S.

Marc Savard out with another head injury

DENVER -- For the second time in a week, Boston Bruins center Marc Savard suffered a head injury. Savard, racing former teammate Matt Hunwick down for a puck toward the Colorado Avalanche end boards 3:19 into the second, went flying into the boards head-first when hit by Hunwick.

It was a clean hit, but unlike last Saturday when Savard came back and played after taking a hard hit to the head from Penguins defenseman Deryk Engelland, Savard laid on the ice squirming in pain, had to be helped off by teammates and trainers. The Bruins said he won't return to the game.

Savard missed the first 23 games of this season due to post-concussion syndrome from a Grade 2 concussion suffered last March.

Savard has two goals and eight assists this season for Boston. He's one assist shy of 500 for his career.

Look, "Mr Not So Bright", we agreed to pay up, IF THE BET WAS MADE, however, YOU were to chicken to take the bet. Sorry, but dont be a weasel, you had every opportunity to accept the bet in a public forum like agreed upon in a PM, like it should be done between two people who dont know each other personally, but you never did, like i expected you wouldnt. And that was the only way it could and would of been official, but you failed to ever respond with confirmation, in said public thread, AKA, joel cairo official habs suck thread.

Again, dont be a weasel, your losing what little credibility you have left, you should quit while your ahead. Gambling is not something i take lightly bro, especially when people try to screw with me and twist words and all out LIE, i have always paid if i lost a bet, but i will be damned if i pay anything when the bet never even came close to happening. Talk like a little schoolgirl all you want, but you have no business making bets with anyone after the charade your trying to pull. I dont play games when it comes to gambling, whether big or small bets, and i hope you never pull this stunt with "people you really dont wanna try this with" just friendly advice to help you since i am sure your a rookie at this sort of thing, hopefully you learnt a very valuable lesson my friend. Dont try to play with the big dogs when your still a little puppy, just stay on the porch and wimper, leave the barking to the Pit Bulls, Capeche? :)

You should say: gambling is something I only pretend to do - then I pussy out when I lose.

It's pretty obvious why you didn’t want a third party to hold the wager, since you had zero intention of paying.

No big deal – it’s only a pair of tickets - but at least it confirms what the MERB community already knew …

Sorry bro, but all the info is on here, thanks for posting it! lol, next time maybe you shouldnt forget the most important part of the bet, like TAKING IT!!! seriously tho, id hate to see you try to pull this stunt with someone who wont play your weasel-like games. Ok, time to go watch the Sopranos! :) Dont worry, we all love you bro!! just not the team you root for lol

Igna defended Joe T.'s honor even when the latter had repeatedly admitted stiffing me. I agree with gohabsgo. I wouldn't bet with Igna either.

I bear witness to the fact that GHG never accepted Iggy's offer of a bet.

Let's put it this way: if you offer me to bet on the NFL games today....you pick the Jets & Packers....and i don't respond to you.....and then, Monday morning i come here & harrass you into paying up since your teams both lost.... is this a valid bet in your opinion?

p.s. I also have a bet with Iggy. I'm convinced he'll pay up once i've won the bet. I should find out the outcome in a couple of months.
