I think that the stated mortality rate at 2% is way overblown as they don’t know the total numbers of infected. Some people are completely asymptomatic, and some have very mild symptoms and have not been tested and never looked for any medical help. The self-inflicted economical pain is much more damaging that the illness. Imagine, the devastating effect it would have on the sex industry if (or when?) it comes to Montreal. Many girls who live hand-to-mouth and use escorting as always available ATM will probably quit the industry forever.

Is there a working mortality rate that has been determined from those infected by Coronavirus? Is it killing mostly young and older person and the immune suppressed, or is it manifesting in different strains that are virulent and deadly to the healthy adult?

You are wrong . ... Italy is infecting the rest of Europe while Iran has started infecting all its neighbours.

Yes, I was operating under the old definition of pandemic ("A pandemic is the worldwide spread of a new disease.") Obviously the new one is "Italy infecting the rest of Europe" and " Iran has started infecting all its neighbours". Thank you for setting this straight.

Learn to read between the lines.

Thank you for your advice. I have reasons to believe that my reading between the lines skills are somewhat better than those of many other people.

Great and informative post donbusch. Thanks.
My comment about "read between the lines" was exactly about the extent of testing. If there is no testing then there is no virus. Since the vast majority of countries have done minimal or no testing, then I would think that a country that claims 5or 6 cases has actually hundreds and countries with no case especially in Africa have plenty of cases. This is a pandemic but it will take a few hundred more deaths to call it that.

The best example of limited testing and non reporting is North Korea. It`s locked between the 2 countries with the highest cases in the world. While its southern border is well sealed , its northern border with China is not sealed. Who believes that NK has no cases just because they haven`t reported any.

C.B. Warren Buffett predicted a down of 50% back in October. Before we knew about this virus.

exactly
but the corona virus does not help because the global supply chain cant meet its obligations
so instead of 50% hold on to your shorts it could hit 70%

Ho I see! It will hit all of us for sure. I first hope not to catch this virus or any other health related problem. Then I worry about finance. May have to cut on the hobby for a while... Unless the girl are financially hit as well and lower their price by 70% ;)
