The greatest threat to the world is Sanders winning the Democratic endorsement. The result of that win will release the Orange Plague for another 4 or more years.

Probably not "the greatest threat to the world" but a serious one for sure... Misère! Que c'est pas simple...

I am surprised that no one has so far blamed Trump for the spread of the deadly virus (or have I missed it?) Never mind, who can doubt that it is his fault.

As I could never resist a well-reasoned argument, I am leaning towards voting for Sanders on Super Tuesday. Just need to be sure to bring along a mask and a pair of rubber gloves for good measure.

After China had an outbreak of the virus....the world stopped eating Hunan dumplings. Now that there is an outbreak of cases in Italy...will the world stop eating pizza ?
A pandemic is coming so hold on to your gold jewelry and sterling spoons.

The stock market is a “ funny game “ , and it never does what you think it will
That being said usually one of the best indicators to know if things are bad and going to be worse is the price of Gold ,,, which right now is at record highs
Mother Nature ( Coronavirus) is kickstarting this correction but it would have happened sooner or later I’m guessing

That post could be in this thread I started back in May because I was already starting to feel a big market correction would come:
https://merb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?184415-Will-the-Economy-bubble-explode-soon

That show us one thing... how market crash are completely apolitical...
i dont know if i am on your ignore list or you cant read but my post prior to yours said the exact same thing which is funny as it would be the first time you agree with me on anything

I did read your post C.B. That is why I pointed it out it could go in the market crash thread ;) We also agree on another thing... We like girls a lot haha

NoChurch... Another indicator is to follow what Buffet is doing ;)

From his october prediction... https://www.ccn.com/billionaire-warren-buffett-predicting-a-stock-market-crash/

"Buffett’s famed patience and eye for a bargain is likely at play here; he often measures the health of the market by looking at its capitalization compared to GDP. Just before the dot-com bubble burst the so-called “Buffett indicator” came in at 146% and in 2007 before the financial crisis hit the figure was 135%. Right now that ratio sits just above 140%."

Cheers,

The vaccine is still a long way off, even if it works:

It is uncertain whether Moderna’s vaccine will work because its gene-based technology hasn’t yet yielded an approved human vaccine. And even if the first study is positive, the coronavirus vaccine might not become widely available until next year because further studies and regulatory clearances will be needed, Dr. Fauci said.

Man this virus is really starting to piss me off. I’m in Europe for work and getting rerouted because of this covid-19 fucker. The thought of being put in isolation or worse quarantine for two weeks just blows

Get used to it TNB. This virus is already a pandemic and will only get worse. Imagine a Billion infections with a 2% mortality rate. That type of math Patron can handle.
Economically a world wide disaster.
Iran is a ticking time bomb. The first reported cases were 2 deaths that meant at least 100 active cases....a few days later 15 deaths and that meant at least 1000 cases and that is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

Did you see the pathetic news conference by the minister of health trying to control the panic and reassure the nation that there is nothing to worry about, while his assistant was wiping the sweat off his fevered forehead...... and was next day diagnosed with the virus.

The only safe stock to buy is 3M

The vaccine is still a long way off, even if it works.

A few weeks ago i saw an epidemiologist being interviewed and he pointed out that they were likely a year away from a reliable vaccine & that he wouldn't be entirely surprised if they're unable to find a vaccine for this particular virus. He also pointed out that there still isn't a vaccine for the common cold & all we have for it are medications used to relieve its symptoms.

This is a serious, folks! It wouldn't surprise me if the death rate in North America for this particular virus reaches over 100 000 within the next couple of years. I also wonder how it will affect the sex business. How will you feel months from now when the sp you're seeing enters your room coughing? I've seen it personally for years where an sp i saw would cough. Sure it worried me a bit since i didn't want to end up with a cold. But the next time it happens i expect i may be a bit more worried since we'll be wondering who she's been with prior over the past couple of weeks.

Anyone ever watch the great tv series "The Walking Dead"? This is what it's reminding me about (minus the zombies). A pandemic that slowly began to infect & kill more & more people until literally the entire planet ended up totally collapsing.

Is there a working mortality rate that has been determined from those infected by Coronavirus? Is it killing mostly young and older person and the immune suppressed, or is it manifesting in different strains that are virulent and deadly to the healthy adult?

The infected Americans who died on that cruise ship were in their 80s from what I read.

Will the Olympics be cancelled?

If I contract it, what should I expect? Will it be time to update my will?

patron,

1. actually, one of the big reasons why they are quarantining and isolating fuckers is because they don’t want it to spread to
predominantly underdeveloped countries like the ones in Asia and Africa. So far it’s spread to countries where the medical infrastructure is pretty decent. South Korea, Italy, Spain, Canada, USA?? It’s not the 1st world world cases that will get the mortality rate to decline, it’s already in the 1st world. Chynahhhh in wuhan has pretty good icu’s where someone can be intubated and taken care of, lol, if this shit hit NYC 1st instead of wuhan 1st they would be in same boat, just more transparent. U don’t need cutting edge facilities to treat someone with this? There’s not much you can do if the shit hits the fan other than ICU admission and tube em, any decent hospital can handle that, fuck even the Jewish hospital in Tehran which operates strictly on private funding. What will diminish the mortality rate is a more effective form of detection of virus. Once you can get a swab and run it for 20 min in a casualty or priority care setting and come back with a result that’s positive but patient has mild symptoms, that’s gonna decrease mortality rate. Has nothing to do with 1st world cases or any of that stuff.

2. 1st world people are no different than underdeveloped people, just have better resources.

No, it's not.

Despite the global reach of the disease, the WHO has so far declined to declare COVID-19 a pandemic.

“For the moment, we are not witnessing the uncontained global spread of this virus, and we are not witnessing large-scale severe death or disease,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a news conference February 24.

“Does this virus have pandemic potential? Absolutely,” Ghebreyesus said. “Are we there yet? From our assessment, not yet.”

The global supply chain has been disrupted because of the corona virus.

normally when markets drop it a good time to buy
but with the current situation no one knew where the bottom is
apparently italy if you do the math the death rate is 3.2 not 2% like they say
