Shit now the dogs are not even safe? Can the dogs, once infected, pass it back to humans? This reminds me my cousin, who has a very annoying habit of licking his dog's nose (and kissing the dog on the mouth, LOL) and paid for this stupidity when he and the dog both developed a serious gastrointestinal bug, sending my cuz to the ER with explosive diarrhea, and sending the dog to the vet with the same symptoms. Was diagnosed as giardia. Came from the dog:

I do not know what's happening in your business but in my field right now it's complete total panic. Businesses will be cutting a lot due to lost revenues.

Hopefully it's only for a another month or so and things will stabilize. Maybe the housing market will go down as well so it then can become possible to find property to buy... And or re-enter the market once the bottom is hit. If of course I am lucky enough to stay healthy, virus or not.

Cheers,

But I just heard Dr Anne Schuchat , Deputy Director of the CDC , say the complete opposite concerning a possible outbreak in the US..
Who should I believe ?:noidea:

Obviously, a stable genius like Trump knows more than a mere epidemiologist. I'm amazed that he hasn't fired her for disagreeing with him yet.

I went to see my pulmonologist today for a regularly scheduled appointment to treat a respiratory condition I have. I asked about the coronavirus. He told me that when all is said and done it's going to be just like a new strain of influenza and the morality rate will probably be the same. He said 50 people have died in CT this year due to influenza already, but the media doesn't discuss this because it is not a "sexy" new disease like coronavirus. He did not seem to concerned about it, although he cautioned that the true mortality rate is not known yet, but he suspects it will be the same as new strains of influenza which develop.

It looks like it doesn't take very much to bring a business in your field to its knees, does it? Maybe some people need to get a little smarter and plan a little better for different contingencies?

CB more then 500 conferences canceled or reported in Europe and Asia for the next 5 weeks or so. Some small to big ones like the world mobile conference in Barcelona. That represent probably more then a million people total not taking a train/airplane, a hotel room/airbnb, no restaurant and not registering at those conferences... Short term loss of a few billion dollars. And this has not yet hit the US yet...

Sometimes the problem is just too big for contingency plans... Hopefully likes previous SRAS and H1N1 scare this wont last too long.

Man, I hate this bitch with a passion. Wish it would just go away. It’s not just the fear of catching this shit and passing it along to someone you love who might get a really bad outcome, but also getting isolated/quarantined somewhere with no outlet but to read jalimon/flyingby gang bang reviews and jerking off

Todays stats
The National Health Commission reported on Saturday at least 47 new deaths, bringing to 2,835 the number of fatalities nationwide among 79,251 confirmed cases.
so by the numbers the percentage of people who have died is 3.6%
7,530,000,000 is world population so if everyone gets infected
271,080,000 people would die bigger problem is people seem to be able to get reinfected as well animals can get the virus
so potentially this could be really really bad
forget climate change which could kill us many years down the road this is the present biggest problem we face
if i could have foreseen this event i would have made my handle Gloom and doom

Montreal has Quebec's 1st probable coronavirus case
https://www.wcax.com/content/news/Montreal-has-Quebecs-1st-probable-coronavirus-case-568302681.html

MONTREAL (WCAX) “A woman in the Montreal area appears to have the coronavirus.

Canada's health minister says the woman recently returned from Iran, which is experiencing a big outbreak.

The woman has mild symptoms and is isolating herself at home.

Quebec public health officials have tested her. It came back positive but needs to be confirmed through a national lab. If that is positive, she will be Canada's 14th coronavirus case and the first in Quebec.”

Quebec's first case of COVID-19 has been confirmed

MONTREAL -- “Quebec has its first confirmed case of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus that originated in China, Quebec's health ministry announced on Friday.

A woman in the Montreal area, who had recently returned from Iran, has the disease. She went to a Montreal-area clinic earlier this week where staff followed the proper protocols, the minister said at a late evening press conference on Thursday. Quebec public health officials had initially tested her, and the findings came back positive, but a national laboratory in Winnipeg confirmed the result on Friday.“

Seventh coronavirus case confirmed in Ontario — infected man had travelled to virus-hit Iran
https://montrealgazette.com/news/ca...iran/wcm/28fdc150-cc96-4468-b327-91795d7b1c8c

TORONTO — “Ontario now has seven confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, with the three most recent patients all having recently travelled to Iran....

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?
The most common symptoms are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. In more serious cases, those infected can experience trouble breathing.

The time between catching the virus and beginning to experience symptoms can range from 1-14 days.

HOW DO YOU AVOID GETTING INFECTED?
Frequently wash your hands with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand wipe, avoid touching your face and keep distance from people showing symptoms.”

Symptoms
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/symptoms.html
“For confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death. Symptoms can include:
Fever
Cough
Shortness of breath
CDC believes at this time that symptoms of COVID-19 may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 days after exposure. This is based on what has been seen previously as the incubation period of MERS-CoV viruses.”

Prevention & Treatment
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention-treatment.html
Prevention
There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.“

Treatment
There is no specific antiviral treatment recommended for COVID-19. People with COVID-19 should receive supportive care to help relieve symptoms. For severe cases, treatment should include care to support vital organ functions.

People who think they may have been exposed to COVID-19 should contact their healthcare provider immediately.“

One thing i find strange about the COVID-19 virus is that it doesn't seem to affect young children as much or at all. Scientists are still baffled as to why this is so. While it is normal for such a virus to find most of its victims in the elderly & people with pre-disposed illnesses it's somewhat abnormal for a certain age group to literally be immune from it. In my opinion this shows that the odds of finding a vaccine for this terrible virus may actually be good.

Young children might not be as affected by it because covid19 elicits an immune response known as a cytokine storm in those that eventually die from it. Young children’s immune systems aren’t yet fully developed so this may be the reason why they aren’t seeing higher mortality rates in that age group. Just a thought..
