Not endorsing it, just saying Stanford University is in support of its staff that wrote that letter because there’s a consensus he is giving incorrect info . Your citing something that’s saying he is being attacked because he joined team trump.

But it is the letter writers’ unwillingness to brook different points of view that is most troubling. The academy is supposed to encourage and tolerate vigorous debate, not end it with mob condemnation.

He’s got a huge platform. He’s using it, but like your saying as he states his case, a university is backing their scholars who are saying he knows nothing of what he is talking about. Their point is, there is no debate.

1. The assertions made in the earlier comments can not be further from the truth. That open letter is not from Stanford University and it does not have the university's backing. On the contrary, its authors got reprimanded for making it appear like it has.
Provost Persis Drell and Faculty Senate Chair Judith Goldstein sent an email to Stanford faculty the following week on Sept. 14, reprimanding authors of the open letter:
“In the last week, we saw an inappropriate use of our official academic council email list,” they wrote. “A letter from some medical school faculty was written and signed consistent with the freedom of faculty to voice their opinions. However, the letter was distributed to all members of the academic council using a University email list and this was not consistent with policy.”

2. The letter itself is curiously devoid of any actual substance. It purports to "call attention to the falsehoods and misrepresentations of science recently fostered by Dr. Scott Atlas", but somehow fails to mention a single specific falsehood or misrepresentation fostered by Dr. Atlas. I am a civil engineer but would not work as a mechanical or electric engineer !

I was specialized in interlukins, I would never work in vaccinology, because I don't have the skills.
I wouldn't want you to work as mechanical or electrical engineer either, however, I would think that as a civil engineer, you would be qualified to oversee an engineering firm in general. Visionary leaders can succeed and serve as agents of change without necessarily having industry-specific experience. At times, this even helps to get an organization (or in this case a government) out of a rut. Perhaps this is the intent with Atlas. Leaders without specific industry experience can be surrounded by experts who can fill any gaps.
Remember, scientists are usually kept locked away in basements to develop their trade, at which point it handed over to company CEO's to decide how to move forward with it. The main reason, they have vision for the WHOLE picture, that scientists generally lack.
Fauci, like many here, dismiss the considerable and widespread tragedy that has become the biproduct of the current narrow minded approach to this pandemic.

Particularly the press conference in April when he suggested disinfecting lungs with Lysol or other equivalent product.
If only americans would have followed his expert advice, there would not have been 235000 deaths as of now.
