^^^^^ My mom is 95 and in a home, she used to like it, people to talk to, go out shopping or the casino ( short taxi ride ). Now she says no one goes out, down for meals then back to their rooms. Can tell from her voice she is not the same, wants to go out more but nowhere to go ( my brother takes her out twice a week but she missed her senior friends ). This has a huge effect on all, the fallout will last for decades.

STN, I understand you so much.

My 93 year old mother lived at home. Unfortunately she fell and ended up in the hospital. She lost her autonomy, and was transferred to the CHSLD at the very beginning of March, and she died 6 weeks later. :(
She had all of these intellectual abilities, and she was stressed out by the coronavirus.

What do you mean with this?
Is he wrong by contradicting Trump that repeat that Covid has disappeared in the US?

Read the article.

It's funny, I never mentioned President Trump but you automatically think I'm posting something political in a Coronavirus thread.

Trudeau offers his blunt assessment and says it really sucks.

Maybe your not familiar with the term "calling it like he sees it".

Read the article.

Very sorry to hear that. My condolences. I hope you were able to see her before she passed away, but given how things were back then... it's not a given. Such a devastating situation for so many :(

Thank you very much.
Only me, 10 hours before, but my sister, and my brothers no.

This is a frightening new world in terms of privacy and the ability to live one‘s life.

I agree, it's for this reason that I receive at home. These days it's a privilege that I allow myself.

I take care, so I put some restrictions on myself, which my lover respects.

Thank Jeff Teliska, for your sympathy.

Which proves that the pandemic is well managed, it works.

I agree, but why stop there. Look at Burundi. It only has one death and a death/million rate of only 0.08. I mean, Taiwan, Burundi and the US are practically identical in most ways, like population, density distribution, economics, politics, culture, etc. Trump or Biden, if he wins, should make it a priority of getting their covid response playbooks implemented here right away.

The 2 competent scientists in the Covid Task Force have been put away and replaced by an ignorant clown.
If reelected, Trump will make illegal Covid Tests to prove his affirmation that the pandemic has disappeared.

Ignorant indeed. Practically illiterate.

Not endorsing it, just saying Stanford University is in support of its staff that wrote that letter because there’s a consensus he is giving incorrect info . Your citing something that’s saying he is being attacked because he joined team trump.

I am citing something that's saying he is being attacked for having the chutzpah to entertain his own opinion.

But it is the letter writers’ unwillingness to brook different points of view that is most troubling. The academy is supposed to encourage and tolerate vigorous debate, not end it with mob condemnation.

And that is, by the way, exactly how things used to work in the Soviet Union and probably still do in today's China.
