Here's what I do.

I work many days a week at a co-working space. My excuse is: it gets too stuffy at home AND I enjoy the interaction with others as it keeps me grounded.

I appreciate the change of scenery and want to get some fresh air before winter.
My place is $150 a month. Very affordable for shared space.

I slowly setup the premise that I was selected to be a TA at a university. This allowed me to hobby at night.
TA was easy, because you mostly correct assignments and quizzes, not much lying required.
Later on, I setup the background that I stopped being a TA because it didn't pay well, decided to become a tutor.
Tutor was good because it would explain the random schedules and why I had cash on me.

(not proud of it but it worked and I imagine everyone on this board has to lie at a certain degree).

In the borough I live, public indoor pools provide bookings for free swimming, usually 75 minutes. It's kind of short time, but it allows me to go late at night to my favourite place, do my deeds and come back home. No need to explain why I'm smelling as fresh from the shower late at night, and no need to explain why I didn't answer the phone during the whole time.

Since we spend 24/7 with our immediate family these days, it's mentally and physically healthy for everyone to have his/her alone time away from home. I'm sure someone can find published research papers on this topic.

Fly, I'd say, tell your family that you need alone time each week and you will take a drive by yourself 3 to 5 hours each time. Before Covid, most of us drove to work--either directly to the office or to the local train station. The alone time was good for everyone. For added authenticity, you can stop by certain scenic places and snap some photos with your phone and show the family those photos.

I've sick of being locked up at home, so I go on long dives by myself, usually on the weekends because of reduced traffic. I've also taken drives in between morning and evening rush hours on weekdays.

There are a lot of things to do still in and around Montreal while practicing social distancing. I've been watching YouTube videos of walking and driving tours in and around Montreal. There are two YouTubers from Montreal whose videos provide me with ideas on where to go when I am able to return to Montreal.

Driving and traveling in the winter is always a huge challenge.

If going out for 2h is a challenge, she's probably already suspecting something. You need what's called disruptive innovation, like for example "Babe you look a bit cooped up, here I reserved you a 1h massage and a 1h facial". I'd make sure to ask for the hottest dude at the spa. Golf was a good excuse when the weather was good. Now its “I have to go to the office for...”. Run big reports... etc. It has been difficult. Hockey season being cancelled has also messed up my fall. I used to be able to go out after our beer league game. Hopefully hockey comes back soon.

Pick up hockey or basketball and beers with the guys after is a good excuse. Your night could be Thursday? The trick is, really get together with guys and do this. Every other week is sex week or maybe, you play your hour of hockey, curling, bowling etc and instead of drinking after with the guys, your off to the in call. This way you’ll have some sweaty clothing to bring home as proof that you are actually partaking in sport.

It depends on what is your usual habits. Even with working from home, there is still a need to "stretch" your legs and keep sane.

If you used to be active or do other activities that is still permitted, just use that as your excuse. For example.. "babe.. I'm going for my usual run, but figured I would go run a Mont Royal for a change. I'll be back in 2-3h."

Even working from home, I still "need to go into the office" once in a while. That is my excuse and it works because of my line of work. Enjoy!

It's always good to keep a time for ourselves personally. Sometime I take a drive all by myself just for a couple of hours. My reason is, "I like playing music loud. It refreshes me. But don't want to disturb neighbours in the building." That gives me a way out whenever I want to.

Yes, your defeat is good now but not when we were in the middle of a pandemic, where everything was closed.

Gyms were closed for a good part of the pandemic
Plus I have a home gym. If I go out to the gym. I will feel guilty about not actually going to the gym
