A burner phone is not 100% fool proof. The networks records the IMEI of the phone used and which cell tower was used. Telecommunication companies keep a record of that. So if you used your debit card/credit card to buy that phone if police wanted to they can trace it back to you because you left a trace.
If you pay cash no such issue. Why would anyone use a credit card to buy a burner phone???????? Like WTF, that totally defeats the purpose. There are 2 Kings in this world: Cash and Elvis.

People use a burner phone for this hobby!
If they were to call the clients phone numbers then it would need a team of probably 100 staffs to go through the list, find the identity with cellular providers, make all the follow up calls and write the accusations, 10 district attorneys for the charges and 20 juges! Some here say they can go back 1 year, so lets say 5 girls / day x 7 clients x 365 days = 13,000 validations and inculpations + 10,000 texts with potential clients who didnt book ! That would be the ONLY priority for Montreal police for the next 10 years ! Hahahaha

You are probably right I was confusing LFMJ with someone else, but their website was all in French as I recall, and it may have been that I misunderstood them to be offering an incall service and that misunderstanding was never corrected. Nobody is going to dispute that my French sucked, then and now.

The more important point of my original post was the one you also made, which I placed in bold- that I do not remember many incall agencies at that time. I was struggling to think of ANY that did incalls. And why was that???? If incall was this great moneymaking business model for agencies, why was nobody doing it at that time? And were locals booking hotels or how were they getting serviced? WHY WAS IT THAT THERE WERE NO INCALL AGENCIES?
One thing i remember about LFMJ is that they never advertised on the boards. It was always done through newspaper ads (Le Journal de Montreal, The Mirror, etc) and as long as you had their number written down you were good since the girls listed in their ads didn’t mean much anyway from what i remember. I remember calling a few times when they had a couple of girls with the same name working. Sometimes i noticed girls listed hadn’t worked in weeks. Often girls he mentioned who were working weren’t even listed in their ad. A few times he sent a different girl than the one who was supposed to show up but i didn’t complain since the girls he sent instead were hot as hell. I still remember when i’d call he’d never ask for my name or how to contact me. It was “Where are you located? Okay i got Kim, Josee, Joelle & Natasha available in your area right now. She can be there in 15 minutes. Oh and Josee is also available in about an hour if you want to wait.” I’d say “You already mentioned her.” He’d say “That’s a different one. Another Josee. This one has blond hair, the other one’s a brunette.” If i’d tell him to send Natasha, for example, i had no idea if she’d be the one showing up. Lol. And what i liked about him & the rates structure is that it encouraged multiple hours. First hour was $130 & the extra hours were $100. Often if i liked what i saw i’d immediately tell her othat i wanted to add an hour & she’d tell him when making her call & i was never refused. If by the end of the second hour i wanted to extend i’d tell her & she’d call him & he’d say ok. He even told me once to just call him later if i want to add another hour again. My record with one of his girls was five hours! Lol.

Regarding your question in the last paragraph why there weren’t more incall agencies at the time is that i think there were more of them however they mostly advertised in the newspapers. Many still weren’t too savy with how the internet worked in the early 2000’s or simply had enough business to bother. I remember several independents offering incall. Remember Sophia’s Pleasures? Private Lies was also extremely popular at the time until they got busted. A hobbyist i knew back then was at one of their incall locations when the cops came busting in. He said he managed to escape through a stairwell when he heard a commotion going on & right away figured it could be a bust so he grabbed his clothes & escaped nefore the cops showed up. Another guy i knew was caught in one of their busts & had to show up in court. He had to pay off someone via his lawyer to keep his name out of the papers. I remember him telling me that the person who denounced him was one of the girls he saw whom he suspected was being extorted by the cops.

Or like in Hong Kong, to "try" to reduce the scam scheme using a phone, they'll enact a law that force you to show a real identity in order to purchase a SIM.

Debit or credit card for a burner phone? Thats a good one.

How many times will we have to repeat that, absent other aggravating factors, the likelihood that police will try to "track down" a client is extremely low?

I would also add that, of the 153 people arrested for buying sex from an adult in Quebec in 2024 (see my post #843), a large fraction were likely denounced to the police by a sex worker for other criminal acts (e.g. theft, assault). The large year over year increase in the (still very small) number of arrests is likely not mainly due to changing political priorities, as I suggested in my initial post. After further thought and discussion with a source in the industry, I think it's more likely that, in the post #MeToo era, women, including sex workers, feel more empowered to denounce to authorities various forms of abuse by men, and that one direct consequence of this is an increase in arrests for buying sex (see my point above about related criminal acts). I will remind everyone that the current legal framework aims to protect sex workers and to criminalize their clients.

I used to have a Merb account back in the day to check out the ads but I deleted it. This ''debate'' made me want to get involved again, it took me back to a certain era of my life. I'm in my late 40's and have been seeing SP for the last 10 years since a really tough breakup. When I was in my 20s in the 2000s I was pretty wild, I went to raves, goth clubs, kink events and all that stuff. I partied pretty hard and one of my first girlfriends became an escort. She was bipolar and couldn't maintain a normal job more than a few months. When she was manic she would work for an outcall agency many days a week.. at first it was cool, we had money to go on road trips and party more, but pretty fast I realized the job wasn't as glamorous as she told her friends it was. She was bulimic and started using a lot of coke to lose weight, one client slapped her in the face so hard that she had a bruise for an entire week. I had to break up with her. She was hospitalized and went to rehab and was good for a while, then she moved away from Montreal. I didn't hear from her again until 5 years later in Toronto where she was working as an indy. She was still using once in a while but she looked much happier.

I never had trouble getting girlfriends and hookups, I'm involved in the cultural and entertainment scenes and I am pretty good looking, even now at my age. I just got exhausted of having one night stands with girls I'd meet at bars and have to deal with the aftermath. I was also too heart broken after a really long relationship, and I didn't know what I wanted. In 2015 one guy I worked with saw escorts on a regular basis and bragged to the whole team about it. This guy was pretty famous in our scene but he was totally sex obsessed, always wanted to take us to strip clubs after work and so on. It's because of that guy that I decided to try escort agencies, he said the same thing a lot of guys in this discussion said, he told us these girls love what they do. I told him about my ex he said no no, things have changed, try these places, the girls are well paid and well treated and all of this.

Hey to each his own but I only booked indies now. I tried both outcall and incall agencies, probably 5 times and most of these experiences were not really what I was hoping for. I know what it looks like when someone's high, half of these girls were so strung out on coke. I remember one girl told me not to follow her to the bathroom, and I asked her if guys often did that, she said yes. I realized this was also not what I was looking for, it felt impersonal and strange to me. One girl had been crying, god knows what happened before I got there, she started kissing me but I just couldn't get turned on. I have no trouble believing these women were being exploited.

There was one girl I have a fond memory of that I met at an agency, it was the one time I decided to book longer than an hour. She invited me over for dinner and I was really surprised, I hesitated. After a couple drinks she started crying and told me she absolutely hated it there, shared similar stories that have been mentioned here.. She admitted to me that she and other girls tried to hang out with their clients after their shifts so they could see them independently, I felt like shit and gave her some money for her time but declined seeing her after. So yep none of this is surprising to me. I know a few women who used to be in this industry, some my age some younger. If I thought seeing sex workers was a horrible thing I wouldn't be doing it, but i keep in mind what these women and what the SP I see have told me when indulging. Yeah the sex is important but to me what I love the most about meeting escorts is getting to know a beautiful woman and having a good time with her without the responsibility and possible heartache of a relationship

The Path to Paradise,

Thanks for your post and perspective. Your post reminded me of, perhaps, the best memory of the time I spent as an active participant as client of escorts from 2000-2017 which were my so called peak years. In the summer of 2004 I met an agency escort at the then Hyatt at the Complex Desjardins, which I think is now a Doubletree. Anyway, met her for what I recall was a 2 hour date. We got along well. At the end of the date, she was not leaving my room. It was strange to me. I then asked her if she had some other bookings. She told me she did not. She was very cool about it and continued conversation with me, showing no signs of wanting to leave. I believe I had booked her for a 4-6 pm time slot. As 6:30 p.m. rolled around and she was still in my room, I was getting really hungry. So I asked her, "hey, I am hungry, want to get dinner?" And she said yes. We ended up spending another 4-5 hours together, walked all over the city, and finally had a late dinner at some Italian restaurant on rue de la Montagne, which I cannot remember the name of and is no longer there, anyway. It was a truly wonderful evening and spending it with her was worth way more than the 2 hours I paid her for. I did end up seeing her again, once or twice, but then she vanished from the business and disappeared. Was one of the better experiences I ever had with an escort from the social if not sexual standpoint.

2004 seems like a much different time. This would be around the era that a I dated this woman I am talking about in my earlier comment. Maybe she was lying, but even though she had such a rough time, the conditions seemed a little different. She didn't have to see as many clients in a row and ''GFE'' wasn't as much of a thing back then its seems. One thing that was hard for her was that she was expected to look and act like everyone else. She told me all of the girls were blonde and skinny and under 30, she eventually bleached and straightened her beautiful curly red hair because her boss told her she looked messy. Her agency refused to hire her friend who was very normal, because she wasn't thin enough. Over the years, more than one SP told me they felt pressured by clients to hang out with them after bookings or talk to them all the time. It was not so obvious to me at first but I realized after talking about many women who are in this industry and have been before, that I am paying for their time. What I understood was that for these girls working for agencies, it will be more advantageous to see clients outside in order to be better paid or maybe get a sugar daddy or two. They don't know how to work outside of the agency perhaps. There is one indy who hung out with me at the park to share some drinks after a 3 hour date last summer. It was a really cool moment and I hope she didn't feel like she had to do that to keep seeing me, but we have an awesome connection so I think it was sincere. Most indies in general have been generous with their time when they could, but I understand that this can come at a cost for them.

It makes me think that the difficulty in maintaining close intimate relationship, either as a cause or consequence of long term involvement in the sex industry (clients and providers alike), would be an interesting topic for discussion. That would be for another thread, or a Master's thesis.

Hey you are misunderstanding what I said, man. I would not say that escorts have difficulty with relationships. On the contrary, a lot of the women I've met this way were quite empathetic and had put a lot of emphasis on their friendships, some worked with their best friend. It's naive to think these beautiful girls don't have partners, a lot of them actually do. I also made the choice to see escorts instead of dating again for a while. When this 7 year relationship of mine ended I saw SP for a few years but I have had other girlfriends since. In between relationships I'd just rather see SP until I feel ready to date. I even saw a SP with a woman I was dating a few years ago, we were in an open relationship at the time. (her choice) The way I see some men write about escorts on this site and on this thread, I doubt they have much success with women at all, no offense, but that's not everyone.

I dunno about that. Bad clients got banned. Sam blocked many of them. Very judgemental.

XO was great till the last year when drugs ruined it for how the agency was being managed. I remember two reviews in 2024 where it was reported that the girl was under the influence. XO went down in 2024.

Apart from the under aged girl, was the law broken because the agency supplied a premises to do business.
Under current law:
What Agencies do is illegal.
What clients do is illegal.
What Companies that accept advertising do is illegal.
What the providers do isn’t.

The complaints from the neighbours is one of the real reasons that they got busted. Obviously there’s the serious stuff, like the minor that was working there, girls forced to do orgies, drugs, horrible working conditions, etc.

But I witnessed firsthand an issue with a neighbour. I was going to see an SP that I was seeing semi-regularly and I noticed the woman was standing in the corridor when I was walking to the apartment. I told the SP about it and she said something like: “don’t worry about it. She’s been asking me quite a few times why there are so many different girls that use this apartment.” WTF !?!
This should have been a WARNING sign!!

Apparently, she told the neighbour that they were college students and couldn’t afford the expensive rent, so there’s about four girls sharing an apartment. That made no sense. How can 4 ladies be living in a studio??

I don’t know if she flagged it to one of the owners or not. If it was me, I would have stopped using that unit. Move elsewhere and continue operations. If you’ve got a nosey neighbour asking questions, it’s time to move on.

In fact, if I remember correctly, they were occupying four units in that one building. So once you get a nosey neighbour on your case, she’ll tell other neighbours and then all of a sudden they catch on.

If you have a bunch of guys coming in and out those buildings every day, and different girls coming in and out, it’s not long before the neighbours catch on.

That’s greed on the owners part to continue using those units despite neighbours catching on about what was going on.

And guess what happened a few months later? I think it was in the spring time of 2023, they were renting out hotel rooms downtown and hosting from there for a couple of months. Obviously the neighbours found out, filed a complaint and they were forced to leave those units, and they eventually set up shop elsewhere. But then all the other stuff caught up with them, LE was on it and they eventually got busted.

So bad mgmt and greed caught up with them, besides obviously all the other immoral stuff that they did.
Absolutely true.
It was so blatant with guys standing out in the cold texting for the code/room.

It just shows at the end of the day, management was only interested in $$$. I'm renting X number of condos, how much $$$ can I forecast getting out them (the condos) per week/per month etc. Since cancellations cause me money, I'm just going "manage this risk" to the financial forecast by offloading it to the girl in the form of a penalty. That is a crazy business model.

I don't know when the focus really became hardcore $$$ but when XO first started 10 years ago, my ATFs from that time had positive things to say. I just forwarded article to an XO girl who was on roster in 2017 and she replied she didn't experience that.
Was with someone a few years who called a well known manager/booker there in front of me at the end of our rdv. She told me that “she” was great and took good care of her. The “she” moved on to . . .

The client having 15 minutes less and the SP having only 15 minutes to cleanup everything.

I don't see the good in that.
An hour with a therapist is 50 minutes.
They only review/write notes.
They don’t have to change sheets, clean up & make themselves beautiful.
At least with an Outcall, there’s a physical & mental break in between.

What’s good about it? 15 min break between clients and seeing 7-8 clients per day??

They’re not machines. How can they provide a consistently good service under these conditions ?

If the agency owners truly cared about the girls, they give them at least 30 minutes between clients, and make them see max 4-5 clients per day. It would reduce their overall profits, but it’d be better for the girls, the clients and everybody involved.

Unfortunately, it’s a bloodthirsty, money making operation, so most don’t care too much about the girls (I won’t generalize).

My 2 cents.
As some are probably aware, 2 woman took their own lives in the last few years. There were condolences on here.
Understand peoples lives are complicated and this can’t be blamed on one thing.

I don't know about your examples and am not prepared to say she was lying about those things. One thing that raised a flag for me, though, was when she said she had never seen a nice/good client. She was there for a year. Only awful people booked her? It seems very implausible, if not impossible. So, she is either telling the truth, exaggerating, or has that whole period of life labeled as bad, which could be understandable.

But it stood out to me, because it seemed to imply that most (or all) people who booked with XO were abusers or bad people who didn't care about how the women felt. I doubt any SP here would say that everyone they have encountered has been bad.

This is not to minimize her story or how she felt, but it's just to say how I felt listening to it from the other side of the fe

That still doesn't answer my question.. Why do you think you are using women by paying them? If a woman puts up an escort ad, with her limits and boundaries, and you as a client book her, treat her very well and respect her. Why is this using her?

Can you explain in your own words why you wouldn't want your children to do sex work, even with respectable clients? Suppose one of your children did sex work, but she had never experienced any coercion or abuse, and everyone around her was very supportive. Why wouldn't you want her to do it?
Catholic guilt.
