CONGRATS to the 2009 NY YANKEES........ 2009, ahhhhhhhh, the year the EMPIRE STRUCK BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Congrads to the New York Yankees for winning their 27th World Series title and bringing another championship to the NJ/NYC area!! Greatest franchise ever!

After nine long years how sweet it is!! Parade tomorrow! Who's going?

i have , several times, not a fan , wish they would take a crowbar and widen the streets for one

i did attend one game at fenway, and when i first walked in i got a good baseball vibe, but lasted all of maybe 30 minutes, after that it was horrible, those benches they call seats are not very comfortable, but then again i was cheering for the other team so i was standing more ofton than sox fans as the sox were getting schooled by Piniella's Mariners at the time so i was standing more than sitting

sorry bro, if ya give it, be prepared to take it..... it's all in good fun, and where have i EVER said the Yanks dont spend more $ than any team????? i 100% admit they do, never denied that, they just invest more of their profits back into the Business than anyone, thus why shouldnt they "WIN" championships? although winning is not easy to do, they at least care about their business enough and fans enough to invest to be the BEST! sometimes it pays off, sometimes not, just like in any business......... when are you red soxites gonna stop living in glass houses? you are a fun bunch tho, this i also admit

To answer your question, if the Sox are to keep up with the Silly Spending Empire, they have no choice but to out spend the majority of the other teams in the league. It is hypocritical in my opinion though for someone who supports the top spender to be in a discussion slamming the team who spent the 2nd or 2rd or 4th most....you are on the roof of the glass house jumping up and down and dropping rocks.

The other point you missed is the Sox have excellent player developement which allows them to have a blend of home grown talent and free agents. The Yankees sorely lack the former.

Your premise leads to the discussion of a hard salary cap, which I believe should be in place. You see, IMHO greed is ruining the game. I had the same problem back with the strike and gave up an baseball for many years...
